Welcome to the Lookout Loft Treehouse! Find a retreat in this peaceful hilltop oasis just a short 20 min drive out of Sioux Falls, SD. Sleep in the clouds on your dreamy pillow top mattress, wake up to stunning 360 degree views overlooking the surrounding countryside. Enjoy a cup of coffee on the wraparound deck, a propane fire on the mid-level deck and a dip in the hot tub at ground-level. Space includes a kitchenette, bathroom, and sleeping quarters, with AC and heat.

The space
Lookout Loft is located on an acre property surrounded by fields. The treehouse is about 120 feet from host's house; privacy is provided by a treeline of evergreens.

A hot tub is available year round on the ground level of the loft. A propane fireplace is on the middle deck to enjoy with patio furniture. Benches can be found on the top level deck to enjoy the sunrise and sunset during summer months.

The inside of the treehouse is air-conditioned in the summer and heated by a mini-split and pellet stove in the winter. A 55 gallon water tank provides water for showering and the kitchen sink. Bottled water is available in fridge for drinking.

The kitchenette provides a Keurig coffee maker, hot plate, toaster oven, microwave, fridge/freezer, and basic kitchen utensils/dishes.

A compost toilet is located inside the treehouse bathroom.

A ladder must be climbed to get to the top sleeping area which contains a queen sized bed surrounded by windows for a 360 view of the country.

A full sized futon is located in the main room of the treehouse for cozy afternoon naps and/or enjoying the warmth of the pellet stove in the winter months.

Many state parks, breweries, and entertainment (casino/resort, golf courses, drive-in movie theater, restaurants, etc.) can be found within a 10-15 mile radius.

Guest access
A code will be messaged to the guest one day before the stay through Airbnb.

The only building guests have access to is the treehouse. All other sheds and the host's house are not for guest use.

Other things to note
*We do not allow pets in the treehouse due to family members with severe asthma/pet dander allergies (even found in hypoallergenic breeds).

There are 33 steps to get to the top of the treehouse.

With the height of the treehouse is it normal to feel the structure move slightly in strong SD winds that are higher than 20mph.

You must be comfortable climbing a ladder to get to the bed/sleeping quarters (or comfortable using the full size futon in main room).

The treehouse sits on the edge of the host's property about 120ft from host's house. There will be occasional noise from projects, property maintenance and our family's personal enjoyment.
