I love Bed and Breakfasts. I love this one in particular. It is a very well maintained, original home. It has a friendly vibe if you will. The rooms are spacious, clean and had special touches such as robes, slippers, and bubble bath. Pat is gracious with southern hospitality at its best.
There was afternoon wine and brownies. She even had a fridge available for guests stocked with bottled water and sodas. Breakfast was amazing. The chef, Sandra came out personally and greeted us and we loved Marcy who brought us the three course breakfast amd pampered us with re-fills. The had our coffee with a fruit parfait, then came homemade waffles, and finally scrambled eggs and sausage.
We actually stayed in the lacy room not the blue room. I loved soaking in a heap of bubbles in the claw foot tub. When we checked in, Pat greeted us, showed us our room and gave us suggestions on dinner in the local area. We choose to visit Thomasville, a town close by that has a very busy historic downtown. We had wine and cheese at the Sweet Grass Dairy, afterwards we went to Jonah's for Fish and Grits.
I would highly recommend Pat's 1872 John Denham House bed and breakfast for it's gracious Southern hospitality and charm.
We only stayed one night in Pat's beautiful home, but we were made to feel very welcome from the time we stepped through the front door,
If you are looking for somewhere where that has plenty of history, in both the house and Montcello itself, is quiet, and where you can sit on the front porch in the evening , then this is the place for you
and you get a hearty breakfast,
We would have no hesitation in staying here again or recommending to friends who are travelling in the area,
Thank you Pat
