Interaction with Guests
Minimal...though I'm happy to provide NYC tips and am available for issues that come up.
Just outside the door are many historic landmarks, wonderful cafes, bars, restaurants, music venues, the film forum, and an all-night deli on the corner. This is the historic South Village side of Soho, sweet and local, bordering on the West Village, the Village and Tribeca, so it's a hop and skip to new hoods.
Transport-wise, the C and E train are across the street, the 1 is a block away, all West 4th St. trains a few blocks up, and the NR and 6 train is a short walk eastward.
Other Things to Note
The pictures do not show it but there's a spacious closet in the bedroom. It has two sliding doors, with a long pole and hangers, also a long shelf above it.
The bathroom and shower are unique, in that the toilet is in a small room past the office / studio, and the shower is there in the kitchen. It's a fully functioning nice shower, and the tiles make it easygoing.
This setup is fairly common in the old Soho and downtown apartments that used to be larger units broken into smaller ones, or tenement / immigrant work housing, where more plumbing came in the later years wherever it could fit.
It's quirky downtown NYC style.
Reliability, cleanliness, respect for the apartment and neighbors. No smoking, no pets. Please leave the apartment as you found it or better, much appreciated :)
This apartment is hard to beat in terms of location and convenience, being so close to the subway, general store and many great bars and restaurants. The place is exactly like the pictures - very simple but stylish in presentation, and with lots of character.
It is a little odd not to have a full bathroom or separate living space, but if you don't plan to be at home much during your stay then it hardly matters.
There was construction happening literally outside the window during the day, however the apartment was quiet by night. Wireless was fast and problem-free.
Seth was a fantastic host. Very responsive, friendly, flexible and helpful - he even helped me haul my bags up the stairs on arrival!
Overall - a great little place with everything you need day to day, in an unbeatable central NYC location. I had a great stay here!
In this day and age of enhanced pictures, I'm happy to report that the apartments looks *exactly* like the posted images. Impeccable and continually drenched in sunlight (a rare NYC treat!) Best of all, the apartment is literally in the middle of Manhattan and close to Brooklyn. How can you beat that? I doubt you can.
And the cherry on your NYC froyo (I swear they outnumber ice cream parlours)? Seth is a great host.
