Eric and Dympna live in a modern 3 storey beachfront guesthouse in the quaint and picturesque seaside village of Duncannon. The friendly village also has a working fishing harbour, and is built around a spectacular star shaped 16th century fort. The village has a couple of nice pubs which serve excellent food and are a great place to sit and relax after a day sightseeing.
Our uniquely situated home has 3 en-suite rooms for guests, each with large south facing windows giving exceptional views of the award winning beach and surrounding Waterford estuary. Your room is a very comfortable family room with an ensuite, with a double bed and two singles. Your stay with us also includes a hearty Irish breakfast, which will be served to you while you take in the magnificent views from our breakfast room directly overlooking the beach.
The surrounding area is renown for outstanding natural beauty and has remained unspoiled, while still easily accessible to all major routes. Duncannon is 2 hours from Dublin or 45 mins from rosslare ferryport.
We loved this B+B. Dympna gave us lots of good advice on how to get to Duncannon and we arrived in time for long walk on the beach as the tide was coming in. The seafront room has fabulous views across the wide bay and there is a great eating and sitting are with the same view.
Duncannon is a great seaside town - we recommend the fort and the eating places.
I had a great stay with Dympna and Eric at Seashells. The location of their place is perfect, and the beach views from my bedroom were stunning. The place was clean and comfortable, the breakfasts were yummy and everything went smoothly.
We had nothing to ask for more. Its a beautiful location with a oceaan view. Lovely and clean room. We where helped in every way to make it a perfect stay. Thanks for everything.
excellent location. very friendly host. tea coffee available.
Beautiful room with great views. Dympna and Eric were very welcoming and served a great breakfast. I would recommend Seashells to anyone
Our room was fantastic with a stunning sea view. Spotlessly clean. Dympna was great to communicate with and very efficient. We had a nice meal in the nearby pub and walked it off along the beach on the way back.
We had a lovely night at Seashells. We were unable to meet Dympna but she arranged for her sister in law to show us our room and set us up. The weather was spectacular so overlooking the ocean was beautiful. Tea and coffee was available all the time and there was a communal dinning/lounge area that also had ocean views. I would recommend staying here. Breakfast in the morning was also great.
Dympna and her husband were very considerate and friendly. The house has an excellent location with a fantastic view. There is a very nice sitting/dining room outside the bedroom with wall-sized windows offering a view of the beach below and the ocean beyond. The rooms are large and comfortable. The beds have high-quality mattresses and are very comfortable. Everything was extremely clean and the breakfast was very tasty. Seashells is a very well-run B&B where it was a pleasure to stay.
