Eric and Dympna live in a modern 3 storey beachfront guesthouse in the quaint and picturesque seaside village of Duncannon. The friendly village also has a working fishing harbour, and is built around a spectacular star shaped 16th century fort. The village has a couple of nice pubs which serve excellent food and are a great place to sit and relax after a day sightseeing.
Our uniquely situated home has 3 en-suite rooms for guests, each with large south facing windows giving exceptional views of the award winning beach and surrounding Waterford estuary. Your room is a very comfortable triple ensuite, with a double bed and a single. Your stay with us also includes a hearty Irish breakfast, which will be served to you while you take in the magnificent views from our breakfast room directly overlooking the beach.
The surrounding area is renown for outstanding natural beauty and has remained unspoiled, while still easily accessible to all major routes. Duncannon is 2 hours from Dublin or 45 mins from rosslare ferryport.
Dympna and her family were wonderful hosts! Dympna suggested both a restaurant and pub which were exactly what we were looking for...good food and music. The location itself couldn't be more perfect; we had a room overlooking the beach. The room was enormous and beautifully decorated, and breakfast was wonderful. Duncannon is a beautiful town, and if I ever make it back there one day I would definitely stay with Dympna again.
We were made really welcome. The accommodation was great with such a beautiful see view
Tea and coffee, biscuits too. Breakfast excellent with the fab view.
My wife Dawn & I had a lovely stay at Beachfront Seashells B+B. On arrival Eric made us very welcome, our room had a beautiful view facing right onto the lovely beach. The room is very comfortable with it's own private bathroom. The breakfast was huge & delicious. Eric advised to eat at the Strand Pub, we ate there both nights, the food was excellent, one of the best lamb shanks we have ever had. We strongly recommend Seashells.
Enjoyed our stay on the beach. Room was nice, hosts were pleasant and the breakfast was tasty.
As we were checking out, a pair of previous guests showed up at the doorstep to inquire about a repeat booking, which speaks volumes about the quality of this B&B.
We visited during a rare Irish heat wave, and it would have been nice if there were screens on the windows to keep out the flying pests. (to be fair, no one in Ireland seems to have window screens)
We enjoyed a pleasant stroll along the beach at sunset, a tasty dinner and micro brew at Roches Pub, and a charmingly tacky tour of the Fort the next morning. Like many seaside towns, Duncannon will be a little crowded on sunny weekends.
Dympna and her husband were wonderful hosts. The room was immaculate and had very comfortable beds, which were great at the end of our 2 week trip around the country.
