If you are looking for a melting pot NY City experience in a up and coming, bohemian style neighborhood, this is your place!!! However, if you are looking for a 'Sex in the City' experience, this is not the right place for you.
This IS a wonderful loft in a renovated warehouse, just like you see in the movies. High ceilings with exposed beams and polished cement flooring from the turn of the century (the other century). Wonderful views of the Empire State building. This apartment accommodates up to 6 people easily, with a queen bed, fold out couch (queen) and a queen air bed. (NOTE: One bed is included in the price, any extra beds are $25/night per bed.) There is a kitchen with everything you could need plus staples like coffee, salt, sugar.
Located on a main street on the borders of Bedford Stuyvesant and Crown Heights sections of Brooklyn. A safe and racially diverse neighborhood- comprised mainly of families, younger professionals, and artists- this area offers many conveniences such as markets and local shopping, cafes and a bevy of dining/eating options…in addition to the Brooklyn Museum & Children’s Museum, Botanical Gardens, and Prospect Park being within walking distance so are the popular sections of Park Slopes, Fort Green and Clinton Hills.
It is located 2 blocks to the express A/C and 1 block to the LIRR so you can get to and from JFK easily. Plus get to the city in 15 minutes.
I have lived in the area for 6 years and love it and am usually in the area and available for advice, etc.
Fabulous changing neighborhood. With up and coming bars and restaurants. And great access to Manhattan.
2 blocks or 5 minutes walk to the subway. 15 minutes to the city.
Other Things to Note
One bed is included in the price, any extra beds are $25 per bed.
There is no smoking allowed in the apartment or the building. You must go to the street or the roof to smoke AND collect your cigarette butts.
Jennifer was a wonderful host. She had an itinerary for us with directions and near by eateries. The home was very clean and beautiful. I would recommend this space to any and everyone. Thank you!
Jennifer's apartment was absolutely more than I expected and it felt like a home away from home for the entire week we were there. There are two trains just a few minutes walk and it was incredibly convenient, once we had figured out how to get around. The neighborhood at first seemed intimidating but it took no time to grow accustomed to it. The decor was nice and the bed was incredibly comfortable, and the heating was much appreciated during the blizzard days. The rooftop had a great view and if I were to have the chance to visit New York again during the summertime, I would definitely stay back at Jennifer's.
The place was great! Jennifer was very friendly and quick to respond to all the questions we had. We would stay again.
Even if we never meet Jennifer personally, the apartment was equipped with everything needed, and we were provided timely of every information. Jennifer was always ready to reply to each email, both before and after arriving.
The loft is very large for 2 people, and can be good for 4 people, if you have to stay longer than a few days, because it is a very very large but unique room.
If you are a light sleeper, do pack ear plugs, as Atlantic Ave is busy.
Heating was perfect.
The building doors were always open, but effectively we never had any safety problem. The area is well connected to both airport and manhattan, 24hours/day.
The neighbourhood that the building is in is not what we expected from NY but is nice.
The more important message is that the large number of good reviews allows you to be guaranteed of a good service even if you book from overseas.
Great apartment. Everything worked out perfect. The host was very informative and helpfull. We would like to come back some time.
Great spacious loft in a great location if you want to stay in Brooklyn. Close to subway to Manhattan. Franklin Ave cafes etc. in walking distance & loved wandering all around Brooklyn with the loft as our base. Jennifer is a great host and the communication, booking, arriving & departing was all very easy. The nearby train noise may be a problem for light sleepers but the lovely host is very thoughtful and even supplies earplugs.
We loved being in this apartment. So many place to get to from here and all the surprises of life in Brooklyn just around the corner.

I currently live in NYC. I was raised in New Mexico, moved to Austin, Tx for 19 years where I did GPS research and then worked on Game development in Flash. Now I live in NYC and do real estate. I love to travel and Akumal is one of my favorite places to visit.
