About this listing
If you are looking for a melting pot NY City experience in a up and coming, bohemian style neighborhood, this is your place!!! However, if you are looking for a 'Sex in the City' experience, this is not the right place for you.
This IS a wonderful loft in a renovated warehouse, just like you see in the movies. High ceilings with exposed beams and polished cement flooring from the turn of the century (the other century). Wonderful views of the Empire State building. This apartment accommodates up to 6 people easily, with a queen bed, fold out couch (queen) and a queen air bed. (NOTE: One bed is included in the price, any extra beds are $25/night per bed.) There is a kitchen with everything you could need plus staples like coffee, salt, sugar.
Located on a main street on the borders of Bedford Stuyvesant and Crown Heights sections of Brooklyn. A safe and racially diverse neighborhood- comprised mainly of families, younger professionals, and artists- this area offers many conveniences such as markets and local shopping, cafes and a bevy of dining/eating options…in addition to the Brooklyn Museum & Children’s Museum, Botanical Gardens, and Prospect Park being within walking distance so are the popular sections of Park Slopes, Fort Green and Clinton Hills.
It is located 2 blocks to the express A/C and 1 block to the LIRR so you can get to and from JFK easily. Plus get to the city in 15 minutes.
I have lived in the area for 6 years and love it and am usually in the area and available for advice, etc.
Fabulous changing neighborhood. With up and coming bars and restaurants. And great access to Manhattan.
2 blocks or 5 minutes walk to the subway. 15 minutes to the city.
Other Things to Note
One bed is included in the price, any extra beds are $25 per bed.
There is no smoking allowed in the apartment or the building. You must go to the street or the roof to smoke AND collect your cigarette butts.
Staying at Jennifer's loft was a perfect choice. The place has everything you might need for your vacations, close to different restaurants, metro stations that take you right into Manhattan. All the instructions and tips were helpful and accurate. Jennifer is always easy to reach for questions. I would like to stay there every time I visit New York.
The apartment was clean and had all amenities you would need. Great apartment. Would stay again.
Jennifer has been very pro active and helpful from the first contact, lots of helpful literature. The loft was accurately described and all worked well, internet, clean place, access arrangement. Will certainly work with Jennifer again
This was an excellent loft, she had everything set up nicely and we had a very cozy stay. We were in town for Book Expo America and when we found the shelves of books in the loft, it was an extra special surprise. The bed is SUPER comfortable and we had no trouble sleeping. Other people have commented on the noise from the train but we found it lulling (maybe we are strange). Jennifer was thoughtful enough to leave a package of earplugs for anyone who might have trouble with the noise.
The rooftop was definitely a special treat, someone even had a live band upstairs one of the nights which was fun to see. Having the air conditioner is a lifesaver because some of the days got pretty muggy. We didn't use the oven but the microwave and refrigerator worked very well. She left an extra roll of paper towels that we didn't really need but unfortunately we ran out of toilet paper (only 1.5 rolls for a week - 2 people) and had to go buy a roll.
There was a nice stash of extras in the kitchen - salt, sugar, spices and just a small amount of coffee (enough for one pot). The wine glasses were such a nice touch, especially for us girls coming back from a long day of conferencing to a nice glass of wine (in an actual wine glass) up on the rooftop!
I would highly recommend this place to anyone who is not fearful of the area (some might be daunted but we were familiar with it) and doesn't mind the lullaby of a nearby train (although, earplugs are provided if you do). The price is right for this loft and we would definitely choose to stay here again. If you do decide to stay, make sure to check out the bookshelf, we left a few books from the expo. :) Thank you Jennifer!
As soon as I walked into the loft I felt so relaxed and at ease. Even though Jennifer wasn't there, she made sure that she was always available to be contacted through phone or email. She responds in great timing and picked up her phone on each call. Greatly appreciated the positive and happy vibes I got from Jennifer. I loved this loft and my stay here. The space is bright and open exactly how it's shown in the photos. Also, for some reason, I seriously loved the lighting in the bathroom, ha. The bed was ridiculously comfortable. When I finally got to sleep, I knocked out because it's as if the bed just drains all of the stress and/or negatives from you. I love that there was a broom and mop and other cleaning supplies because I'm somewhat of a germaphobe and I have OCD so I love to keep things clean and organized. So when I came in the place was spotless and I made sure to clean everything and leave it spotless before I departed. All in all, great place with a nice roof. If you aren't someone who can tolerate noise, however, you might not like the fact that the train tracks for the LIRR are right across from the building. Although, due to the fact that it's the LIRR, a train only passes every 10 to 15 minutes or maybe even longer. At night, barely any trains pass through. If you close the windows it's not that bothersome.
