Apartment - Entire home/apt · Atlantic Ave, Brooklyn, NY 11216, United States

The Space

If you are looking for a melting pot NY City experience in a up and coming, bohemian style neighborhood, this is your place!!! However, if you are looking for a 'Sex in the City' experience, this is not the right place for you.

This IS a wonderful loft in a renovated warehouse, just like you see in the movies. High ceilings with exposed beams and polished cement flooring from the turn of the century (the other century). Wonderful views of the Empire State building. This apartment accommodates up to 6 people easily, with a queen bed, fold out couch (queen) and a queen air bed. (NOTE: One bed is included in the price, any extra beds are $25/night per bed.) There is a kitchen with everything you could need plus staples like coffee, salt, sugar.

Located on a main street on the borders of Bedford Stuyvesant and Crown Heights sections of Brooklyn. A safe and racially diverse neighborhood- comprised mainly of families, younger professionals, and artists- this area offers many conveniences such as markets and local shopping, cafes and a bevy of dining/eating options…in addition to the Brooklyn Museum & Children’s Museum, Botanical Gardens, and Prospect Park being within walking distance so are the popular sections of Park Slopes, Fort Green and Clinton Hills.
It is located 2 blocks to the express A/C and 1 block to the LIRR so you can get to and from JFK easily. Plus get to the city in 15 minutes.

I have lived in the area for 6 years and love it and am usually in the area and available for advice, etc.

The Neighborhood

Fabulous changing neighborhood. With up and coming bars and restaurants. And great access to Manhattan.

2 blocks or 5 minutes walk to the subway. 15 minutes to the city.

  • We spent 3 days in Jennifer's apartment. Everything is pretty much like described. Surely not a "Sex and the city" experience, but more of a real New York / Brooklyn kinda experience. The house was pretty much clean, just a bit cold despite the heating system. The building doesn't really look in a perfect shape but it's quite decent for a short stay. Subway very close. Jenny has been a very kind host and provided all the infos we needed. If you need separated beds, make sure to advice Jenny in advance. The beds need to be arranged.

  • Jennifer is a great host, always available and very, very helpful. She provides great and up to date info on restaurants, transport and everything you can think of.
The flat is very spacious and airy and has everything you need. Location is great, close to the subway a 12 min ride from Manhattan but on a busy road.

  • Such a great experience! Exactly what I was looking for, close to the subway, beautiful space, and close to anything I could imagine. Jennifer was a great host. She was very accommodating to my specific needs, as well as very knowledgeable about the area. I highly recommend this space!

  • Jennifer's pad in New York is pretty much perfect!

It's nicely located 5 minutes from the subway station, which is very handy to visit NY and Manhattan .

The neighbourhood is safe and mixed (you will see people of different background), and you'll find several local clothing shops and even Starbucks like cafés (try Connecticut Muffin) right around the corner down Nostrand Avenue.

Jennifer's flat in itself is a NY style loft, very airy, spacious, comfortable, with all mod air cons, and incredibly warm! It's truly a place you can look forward to come back to after a long day shopping / visiting NY.

Jennifer is also a very friendly and caring host, and made herself available throughout my stay (she lives close to this rental). All in all, I give this listing a 5 star rating and would highly recommend you stay at Jennifer"s next time you visit NY.

  • Me and my friend had a terrific experience at Jennifer's place.

She was a great host, arranged everything ahead of time, answered to all my questions very quickly.

The place was very nice, clean and bright just like the pictures, equipped with almost everything, we only had to buy food for ourselves. Relatively cold, place located by the wide street with strong wind in the winter, but Jennifer prepared extra blankets and electric heater which kept us warm.

The place is very close to subway station, about 5 minute walk.
Very easy to get to both Manhattan and JFK, less than half an hour for both which was wonderful.

It'd been more than perfect if the elevator was working, but it wasn't a big trouble except for the day of arrival and departure with luggage.

I would definitely suggest the place to others!

  • Jennifer is a terrific host, and the loft is a wonderful home away from home, with a fun distant view of the Empire State Building and the new World Trade Center from the windows overlooking Atlantic Avenue. Sleek and clean, the apartment is just as depicted, and the neighborhood, though not posh, is safe, even very late at night, and there are always people on the streets on the route to the subway. The sound of passing LIRR trains and traffic out the window along with the loft atmosphere gives a great urban feel. It’s a quick and easy walk (well-lit at night -- we are in our 60s, but we were visiting our son, so we were often returning home around midnight) to the Nostrand stop on the A or C line, so the metro connections really couldn’t be better – you can get anywhere in Brooklyn or Manhattan from here. Markets for food and produce are handy, as are cafes, bakeries, and restaurants. For daytime exploring, you can also walk through a developing mixed industrial and residential neighborhood to the edge of Park Slope and on to Prospect Park itself (we did this several times, exploring different routes). Jennifer rapidly responded to all our questions and sent us the keys ahead of time, which was very helpful. We highly recommend both Jennifer and this great loft.

  • The apartment is great, our stay was perfect. Jennifer was a really good host, she helped us whenever we asked for it. We have enjoyed being outside of manhattan, seeing some of the "real" new york. We recommend this loft to everyone. Thank you very much.

  • This place is great! It's clean, has all the amenities one would need, and is easy to get to from the subway. Jennifer was very responsive and accommodating. I highly recommend!

  • We had a wonderful time at Jennifer's! She is such a nice host!
She helped us a lot to make sure we spent a nice holiday.
The flat is exactly as described. Very easy to reach Manhattan and the different Brooklyn areas we wanted to visit. It only took us 30 minutes to get to JFK ( LIRR : Nostrand stop ).
I was afraid of not being able to sleep because of the outside noise but did not need my earplugs at all and slept like a baby, too knackered after our long walks all over NYC.
Even if the area is not as posh as BoCoCa, we felt safe thanks to the locals who were so nice.
We spent 10 days in the loft and felt like home so don't hesitate to rent Jennifer's flat.
A huge thank to Jennifer for being so proactive and reactive and so easy to reach when we needed her.
