Beautiful area

This home is in a scenic location.
There is nothing else like this in Western North Carolina! It's a spacious, art-filled, architecturally unique urban loft space in a converted car dealership built in the 1920s. It’s a large, modern and comfortable, standout loft apartment. It’s located in Marshall, NC which is a cool, small town with everything you could want only 20 minutes from Asheville.

It's a rare riverfront property, with all modern amenities, 3 outdoor areas including a deck overlooking the French Broad River.

The space
The property is spacious, comfortable, private and fun. There's plenty of on-street parking and a protected spot in a carport and paid parking nearby if needed. The architecture and artwork are unique and there are many one-of-a-kind artistic details throughout the space.

The place is very well maintained and very clean. We've recently instituted an enhanced cleaning routine due to the COVID-19 situation including taking extra care to disinfect frequently touched surfaces between reservations.

The upper riverside deck overlooks the French Broad River. It’s a great place for cocktails, coffee or for dining. The living space is two levels of over 1900 feet of private space which you have all to yourself. There are two living rooms, one overlooking the river. There are three outdoor spaces--two decks and a private kitchen garden with culinary herbs, a a chair and tables and a charcoal grill. There's conventional heating and AC plus an easy to use wood-burning stove when things get chilly. We provide the wood for the stove.

There's a 65" HDTV with a ROKU device with 80+ apps/channels, including four premium streaming channels. The internet is super fast and rock-solid. The WiFi is strong throughout the space.

The kitchen is spacious with high quality appliances, and chef-quality knives, pots and pans, plus three types of coffee makers, including a K-cup brewer.

There are two office areas so it's great for work-from-home and extended work stays.

It's right in the center of Marshall, which is a very cool. It's an active, lively small town just 20 minutes from Asheville. Marshall itself has loads to offer with restaurants, bars, a coffee shop, galleries, artist's studios, a health food store, and live music several nights a week, and most of the music is FREE! There's also yoga and Pilates classes, massage, and acupuncture all within a short walking distance.

It’s perfect for bicyclists, hikers, rafters, kayakers, horseback riders, photographers and tourists. You can rent bikes from the bike shop in town. Some of the best wet and dry outdoor activities in Western North Carolina are right outside your front door or a short drive. Also some of the best hiking in the world is just a few miles away on the Appalachian Trail.

This property is literally right next to the train tracks that run through the town of Marshall. The trains are very loud, and can come through at any time. But, they don't come through often, and they only last a couple of minutes.

The place is not set up for younger children but children over 12 are welcome. It's not unsafe. It's just set up for adults.

Guest access
Guests will have secure private access to the entire living space. This includes two bedrooms, two large living rooms, one bath, a kitchen and large dining room. The space also includes a private patio, two private decks with outdoor lounging and dining spaces. There is a second full bath available, if needed, that is shared with the host(s) who sometimes occupies a completely separate adjacent living space.

There is also an artisan/crafter's studio that is separate from, but adjacent to the loft living space. The artisan-crafter may be entering the common entryway of the building and working in the adjacent studio space from time to time. This studio space is completely separate from all of the private indoor and outdoor guest spaces. The artist will be using the second bath in the entryway, which the guest may also use. Guests still have their own private full bath in the living space of the loft.

Other things to note
This property is literally right on the train tracks that run through the town of Marshall. The trains that come through are close and loud, particularly the train's horn. But they only come through a few times each day. The trains are both awesome, and awesome.

Watch the video of the train in the Residential Space page on the site at 31northmain.

If you're concerned about the noise from the train please read the reviews to see what other guests say about the train and noise. It hasn't been an issue. And we get many repeat guests!
