A two floor house in front of the beach which provides a beautiful view of the ocean all the time. The house has a Gazebo with BBQ to enjoy with hammocks, it also is few miles away from the supermarket, town, the yunque rainforest, rivers, and other places of interest.
The first floor house has two rooms with A/C, hot shower, a complete equipped kitchen and big patio.
**If interested on renting also the second floor is an extra $75.
The second floor house also has two rooms and fans, kitchen with fridge and a spectacular view!
If you stay on the coastal highway going east from San Juan, you'll soon reach Luquillo Beach. This huge plantation of majestic coconut palms shades more than a mile of fine and shimmering sand. It is one of the most popular and nicest public beaches in the San Juan area. It offers cafeterias, public bathrooms with showers, access for disabled people, and an ample parking lot. Monserrate Beach is one of the public beaches most frequented by the locals. In 2006 El Balneario de Luquillo (The Luquillo Beach) was pronounced the most popular one in Puerto Rico.
The house is located in a very tranquilo area, you definitely will enjoy a peaceful time with the sounds of the ocean, birds and wind! a perfect getaway!
We have a convenience store just few steps from the house, where you can buy ice, beers, drinks, BBQ materials or any other inmmediate needs.
Nadya was very helpful in providing local information. The house is nice with a lot of outdoor space. Although not luxurious it is functional. The house is old but comfortable. Beds are small in length for a 6' person. Great location for El Yunque and the Kiosks.
The reservation was canceled 27 days before arrival. This is an automated posting.
We had a great time at Nadya's place. We were there in mid-April, and it was hot and humid. We basically spent the whole time out on the patio, lounging in the hammocks and staring at the waves. We went to the beach at the Balneario de Luquillo one day (about a 5 minute drive) and it was perfect. Warm, tranquil water and beautiful views of the ocean and El Yunque. At night we could see tons of stars from the yard and the 2nd floor patio. The little mercado a block away was great to walk to for little things and there is a big grocery store a few minutes by car. The outdoor grill is awesome, but you need lots of charcoal. There are also a ton of restaurants at the kioskos a 5 minute drive away.
The place has everything you need, but it's definitely not for people who can't deal with a few ants or other bugs. There were some mosquitoes outside, but it wasn't terrible and normal bug spray kept them away. If you want to stay among locals and away from the tourist condos and high-rises, this is a great choice.
We loved visiting this side of the island. I did feel like the title "beach house" was a little misleading since you can't actually access the beach from the property. The proximity to Luquillo beach and the kiosks is amazing though. The house itself was great though the kitchen was poorly appointed with broken dishes and scratched cookware. We only received 5 towels for 4 people for a 6 day stay which was insufficient. All linens in the house were mismatched and well worn. I feel that for the price things should be a little nicer. The yard and outdoor seating and bbq area are amazing. Overall we loved our stay despite the little issues.
We arrived in Luquillo and everyone in my group was pleasantly surprised by the combination of a clean and comfy house, colorful gazebo, grill, hammocks and beach chairs paired up with an ocean view ! Nadya truly has a wonderful place and pictures on this page cannot do justice to how great of a time people can have in her house when visiting Luquillo. She was attentive to my requests and even provided good suggestions for places to buy groceries and areas by Luquillo Beach to hang out at. I definitely recommend her place to anyone!
We had a great time at Luquillo it was wonderful to lounge on the porch and watch the waves rolling in. I even tried to boogie board it was a blast. The kiosks at Playa Fortuna were great we had great local food and drink.
We drove down the east coast and saw some amazing scenery. Thank you Nydia for the wonderful place to stay.
The place was great! Perfect outdoor bbq for a lovely evening dinner under the stars. The ocean is beautiful and the bed is comfortable and those with a car can easily get to and Luquillo. There was even a cute puppy that followed us around the whole trip--though we're pretty sure he had fleas so watch out! Luquillo may not be as beautiful a city as some on the island, but that won't matter here.
I would recommend to anyone.
We had a wonderful stay at Nadia's house. The house is huge with a lot of outdoor space, direct access to the beach, and a perfect location (from Luquillo we had quick access to a lot of wonderful beaches, El Younque Forest, and Fajardo with its biobay and the ferrys to Vieques and Culebra). The place reasonably clean (don't expect a 5 star hotel) and we had bbq in the gazebo everyday. The host were very nice and the neighbour was wonderful, he was always available for questions and he also offered to cook delicious food for us, which I would really recommend!
We would definitely come back again, and recommend it to anybody going to Puerto Rico.
Just got back from 6 days at Nadya's beach house out in Luquillo. Went with 6 adults, and 3 children. We all had a great time at the house. There is a covered porch, two upper porches (one beach side one street side), and a covered outdoor dining area with a 6 top, electricity, and a grill.
The great part about the house is the LOCATION LOCATION LOCATION. You each night we sat on the back porch, had some nice rum drinks, and listened to the waves splash on the beach. There were very nice padded outdoor furniture, and hanging locations for 3 hammocks. Each morning for breakfast we were cooking up eggs on the electric griddle outside and enjoying our eggs and cereal with the waves. There is a near constant breeze coming off of the water and it keeps you cool and the bugs away for the most part. The house is within walking distance to the Kiosks near Luqillo Beach, the rain forest is just s short drive away, it is also just a 30 minute drive away from historic and hectic San Juan.
That being said, there were some down points that do stand to be noted. The public services in the area are not what I am accustomed to in the states. The stove is run off of a propane tank that needs to be connected and disconnected when you leave (that being said every house I saw in the Fortuna area had this setup). For several days during the middle of the day the water pressure in the neighborhood went WAY down so that the upstairs plumbing fixtures did not work, and toilets had to be flushed using buckets of water. This is a tropical climate and if you leave out crumbs any where, the ants will be there to share your food in a heart beat. This house is not a proper house like I am use to living in Seattle; it is more of a cabin by the most beautiful stretch of beach I have ever had the pleasure of spending a week. After a couple of days you learn to deal with the water issues, the bug issues, and that some of the outdoor lights that don't work. Once you hit that level of island attitude, you are just left with your friends and the lovely beach.
Every one of the members of our party kept saying, "this place is paradise."
This place was overall pretty great. Nadya was extremely friendly. A group of 8 friends rented both floors for a reunion of sorts and we had a blast. She even picked the first of us to arrive up at the airport, which was all too generous of her because the place is about a 30-minute drive away!
Keep in mind the place is a bit rustic. It's within a (longish) walk to some good food, but otherwise requires driving. The stove requires hooking up a propane tank, the showers have limited hot water and low water pressure, and the bunk beds are pretty basic. We had a lot of mosquito bites and some ants, but I don't blame Nadya for local wildlife.
The outdoor area is easily the main attraction. There's a great sitting area, a barbecue, and a surprisingly large yard.
The place is definitely beachfront, but the beach is below a cement barrier and requires some steps and a bit of a jump to get to. There isn't enough sand to lay out on, but the water is definitely swimmable and very clean and sandy. Still, a fantastic setting for relaxing on the porch or in the backyard (though the waves can be a bit loud at night!).
Overall, I would say it was lovely and the price is definitely right.
