Let's just say, everyday starts with breakfast. So when you're considering your stay here in Lafayette, remember that a first class breakfast is part of the package, **On Saturdays, when I participate in a local farmer's market I leave homemade granola, fresh fruit and yogurt. Regarding bookings on WEEKENDS I do request a minimum 2 night so either a FRIDAY-SATURDAY OR SATURDAY-SUNDAY. This tranquil space is in the heart of Lafayette, close to anything you want to see, hear, or experience in Cajun country. Guests must pass through the bedroom to access the bathroom. A warm savory breakfast is delivered each morning along with fruit and juice in the room. This was such a unique and comfortable place to stay. Leslie is awesome. She is bubbly and makes you feel at home immediately. The separate apartment was very homey with so many artsy touches. The welcome bottle of wine and olive salad over cheese was so delightful after traveling all day. The bed and futon were both very comfortable, with plenty of linens to go around. The bathroom had a funky, artsy flair; which was fun to wake up to. The apartment has a small apartment size refrigerator, coffee pot with coffee and a brita water filter pitcher. The whole apartment was very clean. We were unable to enjoy the garden due to all the rain. We traveled with a 16 month old who was able to explore the apartment without us worrying about him breaking anything or getting hurt. BREAKFAST WAS AMAZING. We had eggs bendict with hollandaise, fresh fruit and fresh squeezed OJ. It was delivered to our door at the time we requested. I would highly recommend you stay here. I will come back again when I visit the area again. Thanks Leslie for opening your wonderful home.
The reservation was canceled 23 days before arrival. This is an automated posting.
Leslie was outside in front of her home when we arrived and greeted us with a welcoming smile. The listing was quite accurate of this small quaint property. It was perfect for our family of four. The neighborhood was quiet with occasional walkers/joggers. She delivered breakfast to us both mornings and went out of her way to make sure my kids enjoyed their breakfast as well. Leslie also gave great advice on what to see and where to eat.
Great place to stay in Lafayette. Leslie is a wonderful hostess. Her breakfasts were over the top. She is a talented creole cook. The unit was clean and cozy, great for a couple or with an additional kid. Leslie lives next door and provided excellent information about local music and food. She turned us onto the creole breakfast in Breux Bridge and the informal music jam at Vermillion. Her place is convenient and DIY decorated. Bed was comfortable and everything worked out very well. An excellent spot to stay in the Lafayette area.
My wife and mother-in-law had an awesome time staying and visiting with Leslie. The apartment was perfect! So much better than a hotel!
This place was just great! Leslie was super welcoming, the perfect host, telling us not to hesitate to contact her about anything. She provided us with a bottle of wine and an appetizer upon our arrival and the most amazing eggs benedict in the morning! She was also very knowledgeable as a tour guide, suggesting activities for us to check out in the local area. The apartment was clean and comfortable, very well-decorated with some of Leslie's art. We slept great and very much enjoyed our stay. Thank you!
Leslie was very welcoming and warm-hearted. She made us great breakfasts - beautifully presented and delicious. She also greeted us with a bottle of wine and some nibblies. The bed was very comfortable and when we needed heat (the weather turned very cold), she told us about the ceramic heater that saved the day. We had to drive to everything pretty much, but Lafayette is a very spread out city.
Native Lafayette resident who can throw down with the best of them. I've got the culinary skills and the Cajun joie de vivre that makes living in Louisiana truly an art form.
I'm a traveler with some European desinations I call home. I make gumbo for my family in Italy and Sweden and Germany. My latest most favorite enjoyment has been travel to India where I got to sit in the kitchen and watch the magic that is Indian cuisine from a home advantage point of view.
I grow a kick a** organic garden and you'll often see something from my garden on your breakfast plate.
I'm a selling artist, which means I am making part of my living from selling my art. I have work in homes in Japan, Germany, Italy, France and Canada, and probably a few places I don't know. I speak a little French and am working very diligently to learn more. I also enjoy trying my hand at Italian..and well, Spanish would be a fun one to learn as well.
I wrote a book called The Dog and the Hurricane when I volunteered after Katrina to help with the animals at Lamar Dixon Center. I'm a dedicated animal rescuer and love animals.
I had a bed and breakfast for years before airbnb and am still very much in contact with many of my former bed and breakfast guests, now lifelong friends. I have another book on Kindle called STONE GUMBO that pretty much gives a picture of that experience along with a fictional story.
And for the outrageous..yes I have been on a reality show, there were no duck calls or swamps involved.
I've got good advice on food and music and a great Cajun good time. Come see y'all.
