Let's just say, everyday starts with breakfast. So when you're considering your stay here in Lafayette, remember that a first class breakfast is part of the package, you've already saved a BUNDLE! This tranquil space is in the heart of Lafayette, close to anything you want to see, hear, or experience in Cajun country. In a quiet older neighborhood, this centrally located apartment is attached to a home but is completely private with your own entrance and private space for up to 4 persons. There is a den, a bedroom and a bathroom. The den has a mini kitchen with a dorm sized refrigerator, a coffee pot and a small food prep area.. The den also has a fold out futon and bedding to sleep 2 additional persons. The bedroom has a queen sized bed and the bathroom is located off the bedroom. Guests must pass through the bedroom to access the bathroom. A warm savory breakfast is delivered each morning along with fruit and juice in the room. Wander the organic garden year round, maybe make a mosaic in the art studio (small additional fee) or just enjoy the peace and quiet. Cajun dancing, music and food are never far. Free internet access. Pets are welcomed as long as they are 15 pounds or less and well behaved, advance notice requested.

Happy to do Vegan if requested.

ROKU tv setup for Netflix and many other choices as well as Pandora so movies and Netflix shows are available and music to suit your tastes.

Welcome glass of wine and "un tit gout", "little taste" hors d'oeuvre await you upon arrival

The neighborhood is great for walking and biking. I have bikes available to borrow.

Good restaurants and grocery stores with many prepared food options are less than two minutes drive. Sushi, pizza, Cajun, Mexican, deli, and many others to choose from.

Antique shops, local art galleries, movie theatres and a growing variety of local talent theatre productions are available by short drive as well.

Please note, most Saturday mornings I'm selling at the local farmer's market. A small light breakast is available to be prepared by guests in the room. ALSO during Festivals Acadiens and Festival International and Crawfish festival a 2 night minimum stay is requested.

I have an organic vegetable garden on site that you're welcome to enjoy, as well as citrus trees, blueberries and flowers.

  • Leslie was the best host! I came down to Lafayette for a weekend of racing my bike and my wife needed a place she could relax, read and mostly write. Leslie had an amazing garden you could sit at the table and look out the window or sit on the front porch and just enjoy. My wife had taken a walk through the garden and she said it full of little treasures of nic-nacks and words of wisdom. The little cottage like house was just right in size and filled with wonderful art. Leslie's little touches of leaving cheese and crackers in the fridge to go with your bottle of wine or beer which she had provided. To the most spectacular breakfast that you would only expect at a five star hotel. Nothing can compare to her hospitality and thoughtfulness. Anytime we are in Lafayette, this will be our first choice to stay!

  • My husband and I stopped in Lafayette on a cross country road trip, and stayed at Leslie's. The apartment is large and private. And we had everything we needed during out stay. Best of all, Leslie even provided us with snacks (brie and bread and wine) when we arrived and made us a wonderful breakfast in the morning. She was also very helpful with local recommendations. And her dog is very cute! I would definitely recommend staying here when in Lafayette.

It was a very good night for rest, and great local break fast.

  • I stayed at Leslie's place for only one night but that was enough for a great experience! There was plenty of space for two people with a nice seating area separate from the bedroom. The bathroom was very clean and nice. Leslie was a great host and extremely accommodating to our last minute reservation. She also prepared a delicious breakfast. Overall it was a very good place to stay and I think we will be back!

  • Very kind host, I got sick during my journey and Leslie made the best to ease and arrange for me. I plan to return later this year and already Leslie is giving me a local's tips for the most authentic experience.

  • Leslie's B and B is an eclectic space with great hospitality. We were especially impressed with the breakfast -- yum! Everything is very "green," down to the line-dried towels, crisp from the sunshine. The bed was comfy and we appreciated having a sitting room in addition to the bedroom. Leslie was so sweet to welcome our baby, too (we brought a pack-and-play). It was a good deal for the price and we enjoyed our stay.

  • Warm welcome, clean space. Leslie was good about keeping her dog out of the rental space in consideration of my allergy. It was nice to have use of bikes.

  • The neighbourhood is nice and relaxing, not far from Lafayette centre by car. The apartment is an adequate size, bathroom a little small for two but ok. Lots of colourful birds in the garden. Breakfast each day was good, though it's best to be specific in advance about your likes/dislikes. Lesley left us wine and chocs in the room which was very nice, and gave advice in advance on music venues.

About
Native Lafayette resident who can throw down with the best of them. I've got the culinary skills and the Cajun joie de vivre that makes living in Louisiana truly an art form. I'm a traveler with some European desinations I call home. I make gumbo for my family in Italy and Sweden and Germany. My latest most favorite enjoyment has been travel to India where I got to sit in the kitchen and watch the magic that is Indian cuisine from a home advantage point of view. I grow a kick a** organic garden and you'll often see something from my garden on your breakfast plate. I'm a selling artist, which means I am making part of my living from selling my art. I have work in homes in Japan, Germany, Italy, France and Canada, and probably a few places I don't know. I speak a little French and am working very diligently to learn more. I also enjoy trying my hand at Italian..and well, Spanish would be a fun one to learn as well. I wrote a book called The Dog and the Hurricane when I volunteered after Katrina to help with the animals at Lamar Dixon Center. I'm a dedicated animal rescuer and love animals. I had a bed and breakfast for years before airbnb and am still very much in contact with many of my former bed and breakfast guests, now lifelong friends. I have another book on Kindle called STONE GUMBO that pretty much gives a picture of that experience along with a fictional story. And for the outrageous..yes I have been on a reality show, there were no duck calls or swamps involved. I've got good advice on food and music and a great Cajun good time. Come see y'all.
