About this listing
This is a studio in a private hideout in Lagunitas, next to the main house. The property is situated in a gorgeous valley full of redwood trees, flora and fauna. It is separated from the main road by a small creek, with a walking bridge connecting the home to the carport though a password protected gate. Trees, flowers, and ferns populate the yard, bringing in little birds, dragonflies, and frogs. We recently built a pond with lots of fish. Hopefully very soon we'll have some turtles in there as well.
The studio has an extra-long full-sized bed, 2 lounge chairs, a TV, and plenty of closet space. It's equipped with a small kitchenette with a small refrigerator, convection oven, sink, and 2 burners. The bathroom has a fully functional shower. At night you can see the stars from the comfort of the bed through the skylights.
Stepping outside the studio, you'll see a lounge area with comfortable blue chairs, and the chicken coop with our hens (all named after famous female singers. We'll introduce you, if you'd like!). Beyond the fire pit is the creek. We have a little island where you can climb down and observe the salmon swim upstream, and the crawdads fight one another for their ladies honor.
We are located within a 5 minute drive to Spirit Rock, 30 minutes to Stinson Beach, and about 45 minutes to San Francisco. There are lots of places to go hiking and swimming around here, and it's a great area for biking.
As far as media entertainment options, the studio does have a TV with premium cable, and we offer free wifi.
Our visit to the Cozy Lagunitas Nook was perfect. Linda was great to work with and the Nook was exactly as we expected. The surroundings were beautiful and the Nook was very comfortable and met all our needs. We enjoyed the fabulous Indian food across the street and explored nearby mountain bike trails. We'll be back!
We had the most amazing stay at the nook in Lagunitas. We arrived late, but Linda's instructions were spot on, and we were able to find the property and the cottage with ease. The space is absolutely stunning... You enter the property through a wooden door and immediately cross over a creek via a very cool foot bridge. Flowers, towering trees, and greenery abound. We were particularly fond of the honey suckle bushes that lined the pathway to the nook's front door. The nook itself was everything we hoped for and more. The bed was comfortable, the kitchen was stocked with dishes, glasses for various drinks, silverware, coffee maker, etc. The bathroom was clean and comfortable. Although we tried to 'disconnect' as much as possible, we did take advantage of the wifi and cable at moments throughout our stay. Both worked perfectly. Linda was a wonderful host. Our stay felt very private, but Linda checked in throughout our time there and made some fantastic suggestions for where to go. Every one of them was worth the trip! We were 100% sad to leave. Lagunitas is a stunning area, but the nook was particularly idyllic. We SERIOUSLY hope to return.
The weekend getaway of a lifetime! Linda's nook was so amazing it made the perfect getaway from city life.
We loved staying in Linda's backyard cottage. We were greeted by a friendly dog when we arrived and the place was clean with windows open to provide fresh air on a hot day. Everything about staying there was great. It as nice to sit on the porch and listen to the chickens, and though I didn't see Linda, she was available via text and her mom offered us in-person recommendations on where to eat, what to do, etc. all in all it was a great stay.
Linda was an excellent hostess! We arrived a bit late and she made sure to turn lights on above the gate for us to easily find the house, though the directions were very clear and the house was easy to find. She was also quite helpful with recommendations, and friendly but not overbearing at all. The house had some maps and brochures in it as well.
The neighborhood is very small and quiet, but you can walk to a general store/cafe and to a great Indian restaurant. The location is great- it was so easy for us to get out and explore the Point Reyes area. We really felt it was perfect in every way!
The Nook was utterly delightful. The skylights above the bed are enchanting. At night you can see the stars and in the morning you can watch the trees move and the clouds drift past. It is cozy, but has all the necessary amenities, including a little kitchen. The property is also so cool, with the bridge over the stream and all of the green and the flowers (plus a super adorable dog).
We can't recommend the Nook enough for anyone wishing to stay north of SF and get some peace and relaxation. We hope we'll be back someday!
The Nook was absolutely perfect and adorable. I would definitely stay again. Located in an ideal part of Marin - secluded, but 20 min drive from a town with amazing restaurants (go to the bakery owned by a former Tartine chef) and a drive from the beaches. The space is magical, and exactly as the pictures show. Linda was very communicative prior to my arrival and was there and available when I got there late at night. Overall a wonderful stay.
My boyfriend and I had a wonderful time at Linda and Robert's cozy nook. It was indeed cozy! The accommodations were comfortable, clean, and frankly a little more than we could have asked for. :) The kitchen had everything we needed for our 2 night stay. Stove, dishes, coffee maker were all perfectly suited for cooking our breakfasts and one dinner. The rest of the property was just beautiful. The place was in full bloom and none of the animals disturbed us. In fact their sweet dog Addy was a lovely welcoming committee. Linda and Robert were wonderfully friendly hosts. They gave us our space but made sure we felt comfortable contacting them for anything. They also had great suggestions when we asked about dinner and things to do in town. We ate at the delicious Indian restaurant not even a 5 minute stroll away. So in conclusion you should definitely stay here ( but not all the time because we want to go back)
About the Host, Linda
Hello, I'm a long time resident of Lagunitas, a gardener, a beekeeper (my bee hives are down the street, not here on the property), and a green build professional. I'm looking forward to meeting folks from all over the world. I've hiked all over the Valley and can show you the best trails.
