About this listing
This is a studio in a private hideout in Lagunitas, next to the main house. The property is situated in a gorgeous valley full of redwood trees, flora and fauna. It is separated from the main road by a small creek, with a walking bridge connecting the home to the carport though a password protected gate. Trees, flowers, and ferns populate the yard, bringing in little birds, dragonflies, and frogs. We recently built a pond with lots of fish. Hopefully very soon we'll have some turtles in there as well.
The studio has an extra-long full-sized bed, 2 lounge chairs, a TV, and plenty of closet space. It's equipped with a small kitchenette with a small refrigerator, convection oven, sink, and 2 burners. The bathroom has a fully functional shower. At night you can see the stars from the comfort of the bed through the skylights.
Stepping outside the studio, you'll see a lounge area with comfortable blue chairs, and the chicken coop with our hens (all named after famous female singers. We'll introduce you, if you'd like!). Beyond the fire pit is the creek. We have a little island where you can climb down and observe the salmon swim upstream, and the crawdads fight one another for their ladies honor.
We are located within a 5 minute drive to Spirit Rock, 30 minutes to Stinson Beach, and about 45 minutes to San Francisco. There are lots of places to go hiking and swimming around here, and it's a great area for biking.
As far as media entertainment options, the studio does have a TV with premium cable, and we offer free wifi.
Linda was very helpful and friendly from our first inquiry through our entire stay! She provided easy directions to the unit and how to check in. She was there to greet us and show us around a bit. She offered many great recommendations for eating, groceries and sight-seeing in the area. Best of all, she offered us use of her laundry facility (located in a separate building from either unit) which we appreciated more than she even knows! The unit itself is very cute and cozy! It's back from the road and accessed by crossing a bridge over a creek, so you get the "away-from-it-all" woodsy feel and total privacy. The high ceilings and natural light made the place feel more spacious than it is, and we had everything we needed to rest, shower, relax and even cook small meals! Linda provided everything we needed in the kitchen and extra towels for the showers. This unit was a perfect location from which to explore the Point Reyes National Seashore and surrounding towns (Fairfax has a larger grocery store and other shops). Overall, this was the perfect place for our needs and Linda really went out of her way to make it an enjoyable and comfortable stay!
We very much enjoyed our stay here. It's tiny, but clean and comfy. It was fun being surrounded by nature (chickens, creek, etc.) yet conveniently right off the main road.
The place was exactly how it was described. Beautifully located and everything you need for a nice country stay. It's very quiet for the most part but is near a road so if you won't get total seclusion if that's what you're expecting. Still super clean and easy to communicate with Linda. Highly recommended!
We loved staying in this magical spot. Linda was gone for the weekend but her mom welcomed us and loaned us an iron when we needed to spiff up my shirt for a wedding. Walking in over the creek is a delight and we were greeted by a Belted Kingfisher. Later I saw a Great Blue Heron take off from the water and we enjoyed the very restful two nights. This worked out very well for us and we would love to return some day.
We had a lovely time at Linda's airbnb. It was just as described and was clean, comfortable and cosy. We loved the decor, particularly the little moon cut out in the bathroom. The cozy nook was a brilliant location...45 mins drive from San Francisco and with a little Indian cafe down the road that served delicious food :) Linda also has 2 lovely dogs, which were very nice and friendly. Thanks for a brilliant stay, we would definitely love to come again :)
What a wonderful little find! The grounds and surroundings were so quaint and loved listening to the chatter of her chickens. I grew up in the country and Linda's place just fit the bill for our stay. We were out and about so much we did not have the opportunity to meet our host.
Thank you again Linda for offering up this great lil get away when staying near San Francisco.
Our visit to the Cozy Lagunitas Nook was perfect. Linda was great to work with and the Nook was exactly as we expected. The surroundings were beautiful and the Nook was very comfortable and met all our needs. We enjoyed the fabulous Indian food across the street and explored nearby mountain bike trails. We'll be back!
About the Host, Linda
Hello, I'm a long time resident of Lagunitas, a gardener, a beekeeper (my bee hives are down the street, not here on the property), and a green build professional. I'm looking forward to meeting folks from all over the world. I've hiked all over the Valley and can show you the best trails.
