The Space

Our 320 sq. ft. cottage is an efficient studio. Two fit comfortably in a queen bed with an additional sofa twin bed for a child. It's situated in Eugene's oldest neighborhood. Esquire magazine calls it "one of the weirdest neighborhoods in America". It's a mix of bohemian vibe, urban funk and hippy love. Within a 5 minute walk, you'll find Ninkasi (local beer brewery), Territorial (a local winery), Vanilla Jill's (a local organic frozen yogurt co.), Sam Bond's garage (a bar/venue for amazing shows), PRI (the most unusual pizza you'll ever try), Meiji (japanese pub), Mame sushi (a new hole in the wall that serves world class sushi), a host of traditional mexican and thai restaurants, and of course, my bakery, Sweet Life Patisserie.
The river is a short jaunt, as well as most places in Eugene as it is centrally located. On street parking and bus stops right out front.
Keep in mind, this cottage is located in the center of a busy neighborhood. You'll often hear music from the local venues at night and an occasional rowdy bunch in the park next door. The energy of the neighborhood is festive and unique.
The cottage has a bath with shower, a fully stocked kitchenette with fridge and hotplate, and a queen sized memory foam mattress. There is also a 4 person hot tub with access to a beautiful deck.
Locally roasted organic coffee and assorted teas provided.
We're busy on our farm and at the bakery, so you probably won't see too much of us, but we'll greet you and make sure you're settled in.

  • We had a very nice stay in the Cottage. Everything was very clean and well cared for. It's obvious the hosts have put a personal interest into the quality of the property; everything was great, including the welcome instructions.

So much nicer than staying in a hotel -- thank you Scott and Catherine.

Screen door is a great idea, especially since it can get warm in there. Thanks!

  • This was a great little spot to spend the night! This cute little cottage was in an eclectic neighborhood close to all sorts of cute shops and delicious eateries. The whole process was easy as pie and we slept very comfortably. Definitely want to come back - highly recommend!

  • We had a lovely evening at the cottage on a quick visit to Eugene. Just the calm, quiet, clean, private place we needed on a road trip--with the energy of the Whiteaker just a few steps away (a great market for our short term needs, terrific restaurants/bars, and of course Sweet Life!). So sorry we never got to meet our hosts, but the beauty of the place--including the hot tub late at night on the summer solstice--gave us a good sense of who they are, and we hope we can meet them next time!

  • We LOVED staying at this cottage! It was perfect. Not one complaint, and many compliments. My partner and I stayed for two nights while he was attending a conference at U of O. The cottage is beautiful- well designed, clean, very comfortable, and surrounded by a gorgeous garden. This cottage has everything you need for a fun and relaxing time in Eugene including a very comfortable bed, a patio overlooking the garden, towels, and a kitchen stocked with cooking supplies, coffee, and tea. Also enjoyed the hot tub! The location is great, right in the middle of a fun neighborhood with good food, bars, and parks. About a fifteen minute walk to downtown, and a 40 minute walk to the University of Oregon. Visited the Sweet Life bakery and it was delicious!! HIGHLY recommend this place to anyone visiting Eugene, we couldn't be more grateful to our hosts and I wish we could have stayed longer!

  • It was wonderful to have a place to call home on our honeymoon. The cottage was clean, quiet and comfortable. Neighborhood nightlife was perfect, plenty of fresh local food, drinks, music and dancing all within a very comfortable walking distance.
I would suggest this cottage to anyone who is looking for locally grown relaxation.

  • What a great place to stay in Eugene! The cottage was everything we needed for a base to explore Eugene and the surrounding areas. The location was excellent, just down the street from many fantastic restaurants, bars and breweries. The cottage itself and the backyard were beautiful and a great spot to drink your morning coffee or relax in the afternoon. The neighborhood was super quiet at night, but we could here the train whistle at times (which can go on for a while as it passes through town). I didn't get a chance to meet Scott, but Catherine was awesome and provided some great suggestions for wineries and hiking in the area. I would definitely look to stay here if ever visiting Eugene again!

  • We opted for the cabin as my hubs and I were traveling through Eugene. It is a great space, wonderfully maintained and decorated. The bed is super comfy and the gardens are gorgeous. We appreciated a long soak in the hot tub after all the hours spent in the car. We definitely recommend!

About
I own a patisserie in Eugene, Oregon with my sister. My husband Scott and I built our dream home 3 years ago. Now we're embarking on a new adventure of starting an organic farm so we can grow berries and flowers for our bakery. We rarely stop to breathe, but when we do we enjoy cooking and eating good food, hanging with our niece and nephews, dinners with friends, and making beautiful things grow.
