Our studio with kitchenette is nestled in the heart of the Whiteaker neighborhood. A bustling and eccentric urban area in Eugene that is packed with breweries and restaurants . It's also close to downtown, Autzen stadium, Sweet Life and the river.
Our 320 sq. ft. cottage is an efficient studio. Two fit comfortably in a queen bed with an additional sofa twin bed for a child. It's situated in Eugene's oldest neighborhood. Esquire magazine calls it "one of the weirdest neighborhoods in America". It's a mix of bohemian vibe, urban funk and hippy love. Within a 5 minute walk, you'll find Ninkasi (local beer brewery), Territorial (a local winery), Vanilla Jill's (a local organic frozen yogurt co.), Sam Bond's garage (a bar/venue for amazing shows), PRI (the most unusual pizza you'll ever try), Meiji (japanese pub), Mame sushi (a new hole in the wall that serves world class sushi), a host of traditional mexican and thai restaurants, and of course, my bakery, Sweet Life Patisserie.
The river is a short jaunt, as well as most places in Eugene as it is centrally located. On street parking and bus stops right out front.
Keep in mind, this cottage is located in the center of a busy neighborhood. You'll often hear music from the local venues at night and an occasional rowdy bunch in the park next door. The energy of the neighborhood is festive and unique. There is also no AC.
The cottage has a bath with shower, a fully stocked kitchenette with fridge and hotplate, and a queen sized memory foam mattress. There is also a 4 person hot tub with access to a beautiful deck.
Locally roasted organic coffee and assorted teas provided.
We're busy on our farm and at the bakery, so you probably won't see too much of us, but we'll greet you and make sure you're settled in.

The cottage is very nicely appointed and easy to get to. Catherine's recommendations for restaurants were really helpful and there was some great food within 2 blocks of the place.
Super cute cottage! Had everything we needed for a lovely and comfortable stay. Great recommendations for places to eat nearby. Nice bakery treats in freezer, too. Lots to do and delicious things to eat really nearby. Enjoyed music at Sam Bond's one evening and a brewery tour at Ninkanzi. Hiked nearby Pisgah trail and Spencer Butte. Cottage was a great home base.
Scott and Catherine were quick and thorough with communication. I never had to wait more than a few minutes for a response to any message. Even though we didn't have the pleasure of meeting them in person, check-in, check out, and the stay in between all went smoothly.
The Cottage was even nicer than described. As a 5 month pregnant mother to be, I especially appreciated the great comfort of the bed, and the clean and efficient bathroom just steps away.
The neighborhood was fantastic as well!
We really enjoyed our time at the cottage. It was comfortable and clean! Catherine and Scott left us a gift card to their bakery and it was wonderful! We enjoyed the backyard and utilizing the jacoozi. All around had a nice experience. It was also great that the cottage was conveniently located to so many fun restaurants and bars.
Look no further! Come here! Tranquil setting, extremely cozy and very clean guest house. Comfortable bed! Warm, hospitable details will make you feel right at home.
The Urban Whiteaker Cottage was perfect for our needs! We were in town for a one-night stay to catch a show at the WOW Hall and the location was ideal (had it not been pouring we would have walked to the venue). Being able to bring our dog was icing on the cake! The backyard was lovely and the cottage was the perfect size for my wife, dog (small breed), and I. Catherine left a great little guide to the cottage and surrounding area and a sweet gift card to their bakery as well- which was actually one of the only places I'd been in Eugene prior to the trip, so we definitely took advantage of that. We had a small miscommunication around check in- but nothing that put us off or out and it was resolved with Catherine directly. The park next door was a nice option to have during the day, but being able to stay in the backyard in the evenings/night was much appreciated. We feel super lucky to have found such a great little spot in Eugene and we will definitely be back!

I own a patisserie in Eugene, Oregon with my sister. My husband Scott and I built our dream home 3 years ago. Now we're embarking on a new adventure of starting an organic farm so we can grow berries and flowers for our bakery. We enjoy growing, preserving, cooking and eating good food, playing with our niece and nephews, dinners with friends, and making beautiful things grow.
