Ashley is a super communicator. She thought things through and followed through in a timely manner. She mailed me the keys in advance because she was not going to be in NY to meet me at the apartment. The apartment was VERY clean, comfortable and well organized. The neighborhood is VERY convenient. The subway A and C is steps from the front door. In 20 minutes on the subway we were in Time Square. Even though it's an "Ethnic neighborhood", anyone can stay there. It's VERY safe and parking a car on the street was easy and free. I will definitely stay here again.
The neighbor sounded like she was practicing for an audition of Rent. I appreciate the artist vibe of NYC so I enjoyed it, but might not be for everyone.
My somewhat elderly parents stayed in Ashley's wonderfully equipped place and were very pleased with the experience. The beds, in particular, were singled out as being very comfortable. Ashley was terrific about arranging the details of their stay The apartment is quiet and impeccable. The building is a bit old, with all the usual old-building quirks. But the apartment itself is great.
Ashley was a wonderful host. She was there when I arrived (I stayed for 16 days) and explained everything (apartment (kitchen, TV), laundry (in the basement)) to me. She also showed me where to find the various grocery stores, drugstores and answered all my questions. Contact was also really easy in advance, she replied to every question quickly.
The apartment is really huge, comfortable and clean! Since it is not oriented to the main road it is also quiet in the evening (no loud neighbours as well). The kitchen has everything you need. The bed is large and the mattress is very good, especially if you got some back problems. Everything was there, like an iron and an iron board, cleaning tools and so on.
The bath is also large and you get hot water immediately.
The living room was really comfy with those nice (website hidden) works great, especially netflix and hulu.
Internet worked all the time and was fast. There is also a third room, so that up to four people can stay easily.
The apartment is in the 5th floor (sunny) and the elevator worked all the time. Laundry is in the basement and worked fine for me.
Best thing is the subway which starts directly in front of the door (A-train). You can use an express train that takes you to midtown in no time. You can also walk to a 1-train in 10 minutes. The next grocery store is only 5 minutes away.
The area is also very safe (much safer than downtown (bowling green, battery park)) and lots of police is all around. I never felt unsafe despite the fact that I came home at 1 or 2 am on the weekend.
To sum it up: If I'll visit New York once more, I will definitely stay here again. Thumps up! :-)
Hermoso departamento! Amplio, limpio, luminoso, cómodo. Alejado de downtown Manhattan en un barrio tranquilo, pero bien conectado por el subte A que esta en la esquina del departamento.
Ashley es una anfitriona encantadora.
My family had an amazing time in the apartment and enjoyed the extended stay in NYC. Great host, great place and great neighborhood :)
Ashley's a really wonderful host. She provided me with a beautiful space to stay and kept great communication throughout.
