Comfy bed for better sleep

The room-darkening shades and extra bedding are loved by guests.
A bright, modern cabin in the heart of the Monongahela National Forest. This brand new design driven space feels like being in a treehouse. It lies at the edge of the Dolly Sods wilderness, has forest views from every room, and a sauna. The location provides easy access to tons of hiking and is only 2.5-3 hours from Washington DC. It's as close as you can get to Dolly Sods without camping! 4WD needed in the winter.

The space
High ceilings and a wall of windows give the living space a bright and spacious “treehouse” feel; with mossy rocks below and a canopy of oak, elm and maple above.

An open plan, fully equipped kitchen is stocked with cooking essentials…oil, salt, pepper. Entertain inside or BBQ on the back deck with the Webber propane grill. (Ask us about shopping recommendations, once you are out here you may not want to leave!)

Coffee is on us. You’ll find a french press and fresh beans from local roaster Mountaineer Roasting in Morgantown, WV. Enjoy your morning brew on the deck, perched up in the trees, listening to birdsong. (Binoculars and a bird guide are available.)

The air is crisp this high up in the mountains, so we like to start and end the day with a session in the authentic Finnish Sauna. (The sauna is accessible from the deck.)

The cozy downstairs bedroom with a queen-sized bed has a large window that makes waking up to the dappled morning light feel like sleeping in the trees. (Blackout curtain provided in bin by bed if you fancy sleeping in.)

The loft with another queen-sized bed offers a second sleeping option with an alternate view of the surrounding woods.

Unwind in the large soaking tub, enveloped in forest views, lots of natural light, and complete privacy. Heated floors, western red cedar and terra cotta make for a cozy bathroom to relax in after a long day of hiking.

Explore the great outdoors all day and come back to all the amenities of a new, modern home.

Speaking of the great outdoors…

The property is on a few wooded acres in a small community surrounded by national forest. Thanks to the wilderness location, there is little to no noise or light pollution and at the moment the cabin is one of the only homes in our private, gated community.

Off-grid - We rely 100% on rainwater to supply the cabin. All our fixtures are high-efficiency. While we want guests to enjoy themselves, we ask that you be conscious of your water consumption :)

Cell service - Fi, AT&T, and T mobile have OK signal here, but most other providers are very spotty at best.

Internet - We have Starlink satellite internet. Depending on weather conditions and tree cover, the internet coverage will vary. We're able to browse the internet, email, stream movies, etc

Firewood - We provide plenty of firewood. Just help yourself from the woodshed. You may want to bring your own starters.

Two lovers of the mountains and the sea who met in Nicaragua and currently reside in the Olympic Peninsula. A piece of our heart is always in West Virginia, (where Jenna grew up) and we get back as often as we can! We split our time between the woods, the water, and our cat Pinky Beans.
