We just finished a great stay at River Song. Our family (two adults, two kids - 8 and 6) stayed there for five days and primarily used it as a base for cooking breakfast and dinner, and enjoying the myriad of Bend activities. But during those times when we were around, it was lovely. Great view from the patio, awesome float down the river (on Lori's raft), and just enjoying the beauty of the property. Lori was incredibly responsive if we had questions or needed something and our oldest son especially loved seeing her artwork, which decorates the River Song rooms.
Lori works hard to make it a true "Sanctuary" experience, which includes a reasonable amount of quiet. We were initially a little nervous about that with two young kids, but it really wasn't a problem and we felt very comfortable and welcome. Having the wonderful fountain running on the lower level patio really helped. :)
When we return to Bend, we'll definitely be staying at River Song again!
Had an extremely relaxing time at the River Song Sanctuary near Bend - when we were staying Lori was away but she made arrangements so that we could get in late and everything was explained perfectly. The inside of the property (upper level, 2 bed) is well maintained and comfortable, and the deck with view of the river is beautiful and incredibly peaceful. There is river access pretty much from the property and good cycling etc nearby, would fully recommend a stay here if looking to relax in nature
We stayed a couple of wonderfull days at River Song Sanctuary. The place is beautiful furnished and well equiped. Our two sons especially loved the bikes, canoes, etc. It's a perfect spot for venturing in the nearby nature and volcanic landscaped. Bend is not too far away and in Sunriver everything is available.
Recently enjoyed the therapeutic benefits of this riverside sanctuary. Despite neighbors below us & beside us, we enjoyed the silence of a mountain meadow morning, broken by the cries of red-wing blackbirds perching on the marsh grass below. The slow steady currents of the river beyond the marsh supported a leisurely pace to our central Oregon vacation. Lori was welcoming & supportive & working hard the entire time we loafed & touristed the vicinity. It was nice being near the amenities of Sun River without being part of it. It was also a lovely time of year to be there: not as hot as later summer, it even rained! Accessible to so many wonderful natural attractions & attractive enough to just sit & watch the Deschutes flow by on it's way to the Columbia & the sea beyond.
The River Song Sanctuary is a welcome retreat. My family and I enjoyed our stay and the art it's decorated with.
Thanks Lori for sharing your Sanctuary.
Quaint and cozy apartment with beautiful artwork inside and beautiful scenery outside. The deck overlooks the river and has a great peaceful view. We stayed in winter and it would be great place to stay in the summer. Very peaceful
