Imagine staying in a historic turn of the century farmhouse with redwood walls, 14-foot ceilings and tall many paned windows. Each room is outfitted to reflect Queens of ancient Egypt. Note: Nefertari was the wife of Ramses The Great Pharaoh. The Queen Nefertari Room is very spacious, has a Queen sized bed, a walk-in closet, and a private bathroom. To view pics of the entire house, take a look at the numerous photos posted on my other listing titled 'Nesu Retreat House.' You will have access to a fully equipped kitchen, a hot-tub, and a wood-burning pyramid shaped cob oven. Note: If another/other rooms are rented in the Nesu Retreat House during your stay, you will have to share these amenities. However, we have other hot-tubs and cob ovens on the property, as I will detail later. If you're all about staying connected, we offer free wifi-internet throughout the property. There is parking right along side this house, which is set apart from the 10 acres that comprise the Isis Oasis Sanctuary, a spiritual retreat center dedicated to the ancient Egyptian Goddess Isis also known as Mother Earth. As guests on the property, you would have access to the pool/hot tub and sauna onsite. Additionally, you could view all the exotic cats and birds at our zoological sanctuary and partake of the events (films/plays/concerts) in our Egyptian temple themed redwood theater. 'Mummy's Kitchen' on our beautiful garden pavilion is often available for dining out and there are fine dining options within walking distance from The Nesu Retreat House e.g. 'Catelli's Italian Restaurant', 'Diavola Pizzeria.' Additionally, there is 'The Geyserville Mud' coffee and pastry shop, which is a popular spot, and 'The Hoffman House Restaurant' on the north end of town, which is a terrific spot for breakfast. We are close to many renowned wineries (Francis Ford Coppola, Trentadue, Trione, Geyser Peak, Clos Du Bois etc.), which offer wine tasting, and the Russian River is within a short walking distance for kayaking/canoeing. Lake Sonoma is about 6 miles away, and is a popular spot for boating and hiking. Additionally, River Rock Casino is close by! Please come and visit the unique...Nefertari Room. You don't have to travel far to be in a whole other world, time and place!
**NOTE: The Nefertari Room is across the hall from the Queen Ankhsenamen room, so, if you want to come stay at the Nesu Retreat House with your friends, you can rent both rooms simultaneously. Check out my other listings!**
What a wonderful experience! Loreon's rooms are beautiful and comfortable, and the grounds are a pleasure - the lovely Eve gave my friends and I a tour of the animals, and we got to hold a beautiful corn snake and some frisky bearded lizards. The pool and sauna are relaxing and refreshing, and we were able to use the outdoor pizza oven to make some tasty pizzas! Loreon was kind enough to lend us some cornmeal from the kitchen, which we'd forgotten to bring. We'll definitely return.
My boyfriend and I booked the Nefertari room at Isis Oasis for a last minute getaway from the city, and really enjoyed our stay. The property and surrounding grounds were an adventure to explore and our room and the house it was in had some years on it, but wore them well and was advertised in the photos. We slept comfortably and enjoyed the adorable restaurants downtown and surrounding wineries. If you are interested in an off the beaten path stay in a one of a kind place, this is it for you!
We had a good time even though we did not sleep in the right room (our guest mistook the bedroom and gave us another one...). But no big deal.
We appreciated Loreon's discretion as we were looking for quiet time. They agreed that we stayed at the pool on Sunday afternoon, which was really nice of them. We loved the pool!
Amazing place. So peaceful. If you are looking for private retreat style place where you will be undisturbed - this is the place.
I couldn't be happier with my stay at the quirky Isis Oasis. Loreon was good at maintaining contact and offered a nice last-minute room upgrade, and it was fun to explore the grounds and check out the cool exotic cats (ocelots!) and birds (albino peacocks!) in the on-site wildlife sanctuary. The location is great as well -- a short walk to a great restaurant (Diavola) and some wine tasting rooms.
The Nefertari Room was clean, comfortable, and aesthetically pleasing, and the rest of the Nesu house was as well (including the hot tub!). That said, the reason to stay here is not for the room. The room is part of Isis Oasis, which is a bit quirky, but very creative and interesting.
There are many things to see, including beautiful earthen artwork, shrines, a meditation maze, and numerous beautiful birds, jungle cats (like Ocelot's) and some other surprises too. The host, Loreon, was incredibly welcoming, and even gave us a tour of the grounds. There are other individuals staying there as well... don't be shy, they are all friendly and talkative.
Meanwhile, outside Isis Oasis, Geyserville is a small, but incredibly charming little town. As fas as I could tell, there are only two restaurants, but they are both fantastic Italian places rivaling anything you'd find in SF at that price level. There are places for wine tasting as well, and I found them to be just a bit more inviting and casual than ones I've been to in Sonoma.
All in all, I'd have to say this place is a rare gem, and if you have a chance to stay here, don't pass it up! I know I'll be returning.
