About This Listing
Hello Everyone, come to my Brooklyn apartment in the very caribbean flavored Crown Heights. My neighborhood is eccentric but cool with a mix of culture everywhere. My building has a laundry unit in the basement, plus there other laundry options right on the block with near by dry cleaners. I have a cozy room with a full-size bed, with lots of closet space and sunlight. This room has wall art that gives the room sheer character.
I live near Brooklyn Museum, Prospect Park, and The Brooklyn Botanical Gardens and several markets that happen during the seasons especially spring and summer months. There several bars and clubs within your area to explore and get a better feel on the Brooklyn state of mind.
Im a chef as well so I'll ocassionally bake muffin or two. What I do make more now is hair products! I have a one bathroom and living space that's open for our sharing. Im a fun loving girl who is all about positive vibrations.
I'm 5 minutes away from the A/C/S train off the Nostrand ave stop, 15 minutes to the city. 25 mins away from Times Square/34th/Empire State Building. I can help you find a great place to eat since I'm a big foodie! Please send me a message before booking so we can get a better feel for each other.
Please do NOT ask me about changing prices, what you see is what you get. Period
I appreciate clean and respectable people.
Please make sure to leave the bathroom looking clean.
If your buying food, make sure to take care of it and toss it when your leaving.
Asha's apartment is clean and conveniently located just a couple of blocks from the Nostrand Ave A&C stop in Crown Heights, a vibrant and safe neighborhood in Brooklyn. The room is bright, spacious and comfortable. Asha was very accomodating and friendly and even took care of me upon my arrival, when I had a high fever! I highly recommend her place to both single travelers and couples! Thanks again, Asha, and see you next time!
Asha is a welcoming person and you can have a lot of fun with her.
Even if the neighborhood is lively the apartment itself is quiet. You can find some nice places round about. And I'd always felt save even when I came home late in the night. Besides the subway station is really close and you have good connections to Manhattan and to other great places in New York.
I stayed there for three months and there were some inconvenient things too:
- We were three persons living in the apartment during my stay what Asha told me before and was no problem for me. What I didn't knew before I arrived was that this meant Asha was living in the living room (entrance, dining room and kitchen at the same time). For the first time it was okay but after a while I really felt uncomfortable by cooking and walking in "her" room.
- My window was broken and even if we sealed it with plastic and tape there still permanently got cold air in my room. So my stay from January to March was less cosy.
- For an additional fee of $15 per night I was allowed to get visitors. Unfortunately the provided air mattress was broken and my guest slept in fact on the floor. After my reclamation Asha neither bought a new one nor she was up to talk about the price. That was really sad.
So if your stay isn't as long and you are very uncomplicated it is okay there.
I initially didn't have any issues with Katharina until towards the end. I was barely home for her to do whatever she needed to do in the kitchen. Once I sealed the window, she never told me any other issues about it. As for the unexpected guest that she decided to tell me a little more than week before there arrival, she asked if it was ok for him to stay. She told me that he was bringing a sleeping bag and I offered a new air mattress for him. As for what happened to the mattress in the room, I don't know. Apparently it was losing air from them using it after it was used once? She never mentioned a price change until after they came and went, which I found quite strange. This is the first guest I ever had with such friction towards me, hope finds more sterile conditions at other guest homes.
I only need one word to describe my stay at Asha's - AWESOME!
I stayed in her Cozy Corners for 3 months and we had a great time and a lot of fun! Asha made me feel very welcome and she told me a lot of places to check out.
Also, the neighborhood is great - it is pretty safe and there are all kinds of shops and restaurants around. The neighborhood is mostly Caribbean which means there are a lot of (food) places to explore.
My / your bedroom is pretty big, there is enough storage room - and it is cozy!
There is a subway stop only a few blocks away and the A/C train takes you to Manhattan in circa 20 minutes - depending on where you want to go.
I can only recommend staying with Asha - she is super sweet and super fun. Hope to be able to come back ASAP :D
Asha is fabulous and her apartment is just lovely! Asha is very welcoming, fun to talk to, and a great host. The bedroom is spacious and has everything you need to be comfortable. The bathroom is very clean and the water is hot and the pressure is amazing. The apartment is nice and quiet by NYC standards and this room does not face the street so it's extra quiet.
It is super convenient to the subway and LIRR and the neighborhood is great. Ask Asha about brunch spots and you will not be disappointed!
I highly recommend staying here!
