It is a 10 minute walk to town. There is a regular bus service. Grand Canal Dock dart station is around the corner. There is a 'Go Car' dock around the corner also and lots of Dublin Bikes. Very well served for transport.
To respect the house as though your own home!
Freda was a great host, making sure to make the key available when we arrived, although it was extremely early. The house was as described, spacious with a gorgeous little garden, less than 15min walk from the center of the city. The house was fully furnished with confortable bed and relatively quiet (one of the rooms is front to the road, so some noise was expected, but quite light).
She left clear explanations about some quirks of the house (closing the back door was not as trivial as expected), making everything simple.
I highly recommend it to anyone who wants to visit Dublin!
Freda's place was amazing since the location is very convenient (within walking distance to several attractions), it has a nice backyard, plenty of rooms, and an authentic Dublin feeling. Freda was super responsive and very accommodating. When I visit Dublin again, I'd definitely stay here again.
Freda was absolutely great to work with! Communication was quick, helpful, and friendly from my initial question all the way through our stay and afterwards.
The house itself was super charming! We're a family of 4 who'd been traveling all over Europe for 3 weeks by the time we reached Dublin. My two boys (ages 10 and 13) loved having plenty of space to spread out...Not to mention the park with a soccer pitch right around the corner. My husband and I loved that there was a washer/dryer and a fully stocked kitchen. It was great to be able to do our laundry and have a "home cooked meal" after traveling for so long. The house was so warm and inviting, I just wanted to stay in and curl up with a book and a cup of tea.
The house is about a mile from the city center, which might have been annoying if we'd wanted to feel like we were smack in the thick of things, but getting there was easy -- even if we didn't feel like making the pleasant 15 minute walk. The immediate neighborhood was just what we needed: there were restaurants, a lovely café, a grocery store, and a dry cleaners all within a 5 minute walk. There was a bus stop half a block from the house, and Freda left us 2 bikes to use during our stay. There was also a bike hire stop next to the grocery store. I only had to think that maybe I wanted to take a cab instead of walking or taking the bus, and one had pulled over.
Honestly, everything was as advertised and even better than we'd expected.
What a wonderful place! Freda has a lovely home and we were very lucky to have the pleasure in staying here for a few weeks while we settled into Dublin. Freda was a wonderful host!
Charming house with charming back yard. Freda was very helpful and answered all our questions. The house is in very good location, close to city center (15 mins walk to Trinity College).
