Nice studio recently refurbished for two peope in the center of the vila of Alaró. Quiet, for a different holliday in Mallorca. Alaró is a 4.500 population town, 26 kilometres away from Palma. In half an hour you can visit some of the best beaches of Mallorca. Alaró is in the Sierra de Tramuntana, so you can go hiking easily.
Newly renovated studio in Old Town with terrace Alaró. Very private and quiet, ideal for a holiday boutique. This is a room with full kitchen, cooking utensils, and a bathroom with shower. In the room we have a double sofa bed, TV and music. We have free wi-fi. Leaving the courtyard and up some stairs is a small terrace with a stone bench, table and two chairs and umbrella.
The study is small, but enough for two people who want to spend a quiet holiday in the town of Alaró. In the village you can find supermarkets, bakeries, restaurants and several terraces where you drink. The study is two minutes from the square where the market is held Saturdays.
The studios are newly refurbished and is very colorful. It has air conditioning and heat pump and a wood stove.
Around Alaró may interest many excursions: Castle Alaró (3.5 hours, round trip), Orient (4 hours), Tossals Refuge (4 hours) ...
Carles made us feel very welcome and was a good host, the studio is perfect for two for a few days and the roof terrace is really wonderful to sit out on and has some sun for most of the day. Alaró is a really beautiful small town, perfect for a slightly more quiet Mallorcan holiday, mostly quiet but the square in the centre can get quite lively in the evening, especially at the weekend.
We had an amazing time in Alaro and this beautiful little apartment (especially the roof terrace)! Carles was very friendly and helpful in giving us recommendations and directions for local hikes, nice beaches and shopping possibilities.
The neighborhood was quiet although Alaro also offered great dinner opportunities with a couple of bars and Restaurants serving excellent Paella.
We would always recommend this apartment!
We rented this house for a couple of days, at the end of May. When we got there, our first impression was positive. it seemed to be just what we had been looking for: a small, comfortable studio apartment with facilities for cooking in a quiet countryside environment.
But later, when we entered the flat, we had a number of negative surprises. First of all, the flat wasn’t very clean. There were kind of dirty in the kitchenette sink and also a few greasy plates and fry pans. Living room furniture were dusty, with cobwebs in the room corners.
The bathroom was separated by a sliding door which couldn’t slide at all (it was partly broken) and my girlfriend got trapped inside and had to help her to get out.
After that we called the owner, complaint about the dirty, and ask him to send somebody to clean up. He told us he felt desolate and that he would promptly fix that. So we calm down and though that, if somebody would come to clean up, we could stay without problems. So we decide to keep on with our day plans (we got there in the morning) and leave the flat, feeling trustful . Before living, we also met the people who had been sent sent by the owner to make the cleaning, and felt more comfortable.
But, unfortunately, when we came back to the hose at night, we discovered that little had changed. A very basic and superficial cleaning had been made, but nothing else. It was already too late to find out another solution, so we decided to stay for that night and sent a message to owner in order to transmit him our complaints and disappointment and ask for a solution.
We thought that we could at least see a movie in the TV, but we discovered it was also broken. The only thing to left was to go to sleep, and there we had the last bad surprise of the day: when we opened the sofa bed it looked very old, smelly and full of stains.
The owner answered by SMS to our complaints suggesting that if we weren’t happy with the flat, the best option would have been to leave it. According to this possibility, he would have charged us only for the 1st night.
So, we looked for a new accommodation by internet (the WI-Fi connection was ok) and left the flat the very next day. The money of the 2nd night and the money that we paid in advanced for the cleaning have been refunded almost immediately. But of course thata didn’t compensate the % of money we paid to Airbnb, the additional money we had to pay for the new accommodation and, least but not last, the loss of time and energies that should have been dedicated only to the enjoyment of our short holidays.
Carles is a very welcoming, knowledgeable and helpful host, and the studio is colorful and nicely decorated. However, it didn't always seem as clean as would have been desirable and it never grew on us as a place to retreat between activities; we only stayed there to sleep.
Carles was a friendly host. He knows his way around the island very well and could give us good tips about hiking destinations and local dining possibilities.
The apartment matches the description. It has a very mediterranean atmosphere, in a tightly packed neighbourhood close to the main square.
