The Space

This is a happy home, and we are committed to ensuring your stay with us stay is very enjoyable.

We are in an awesome location on Lake Pupuke, close to the Auckland CBD, beaches, cinema, theatres, pubs, restaurants and shopping galore. Everything within easy walking distance. You need to allow plenty of time to get the most out of your trip to the North Shore as there is so much to do both at home and close by. Kayaks, paddle boards and catamaran are free to use on our very sheltered lake.

Takapuna beach is lovely and you can easily spend a day exploring, enjoying the diverse range of cafes and enjoying the lovely sea front setting.

Devonport is within easy reach by bike, bus or car. Two volcanoes, Mt Victoria and North Head provide 360 views over Auckland harbour. The Navy Museum is free (or by donation) and is situated at the bottom of North Head where you will also find a peaceful café. The shops and village are very old world New Zealand. Hop on a ferry to the CBD or Rangitoto.

The bus to the CBD goes from Takapuna Central and the nearby Bus Station. Explore Parnell and Ponsonby or take a picnic to the Domain and if wet pop into the Museum.

Large Supermarkets are only 800 metres walk and Takapuna centre 1000 metres which includes the central North Shore bus station.

Help yourself to breakfast each morning - cereal, tea, coffee, milk, sugar, bread and spreads. Please feel free to cook your own evening meal in the kitchen at any time to avoid the expense of eating out. Evening meals can be provided for a modest additional charge.

For the less energetic relax on the sheltered deck or in the lake front garden with it's sunny seating areas overlooking the lake. This is a perfect place to unwind after a busy day sight seeing or working in Auckland.

You also have access to wi fi in case you need to work or study during your stay. This room is ideal for business people, couples and travellers who are looking for a relaxing place to stay without spending a fortune - compare the value here to your average bed and breakfast and you will be pleasantly surprised. We are close to the action and everything that is going on in Auckland. Note: it is not suitable for children as our guests really enjoy the peaceful surroundings.

You will have the opportunity to meet the family and other guests during your stay but as it is a large house you have plenty of space for relaxing on your own if you prefer.

We are in the best street on the North Shore. Close to Takapuna with it's huge variety of restaurants, cafes and bars, lovely beach, cinema and 2 theatres. We are also close to the main hospital and a 10 minute bus ride will take you into Auckland City - the bus stop is 10 minutes walk or 5 minute cycle.

I can help with any questions about Auckland or other areas of NZ as I have travelled extensively since arriving here 19 years ago with 2 children. There is no place we would rather live! I can also recommend a local shuttle service for transport to and from Auckland airport or for car hire whilst you are here, please enquire for details.
