There is a ton to explore and discover in downtown KC. From Rivermaket to Crossroads to Crown Center downtown Kansas City is exciting and surprising. You would be in walking distance from museums (from the National WWI Memorial to the Riverboat Musuem), cultural events centers (from the Kauffman Performing Arts Center to the Sprint Center), KC history (from jazz cubs to BBQ), and beautiful architecture (turn of the century to cutting edge). All this from the comfort and safety of the up-and-coming Quality Hill neighborhood.
Our welcome packet will help you navigate the wide range of options and "don't miss"s. Don't worry, we've got a map for you!
IF YOU DIDN'T DRIVE
Buses saturate downtown KC, as well as being serviced by taxi, Uber, and airport shuttles. Many areas of downtown KC also offer Bike-Share Stations as well.
IF YOU DROVE
There is available parking on the street (just follow the signs- some free, some metered) or you could pay for any of the near-by lots that range from $4-$10 a day depending on the time you enter and exit. My place is perfect for exploring all that KC has to offer!!
Treat the loft as if it were your own!
Turn off the heat/AC when you check out.
Perfect location (website hidden) was very responsive. Would stay here again. Very comfortable.
Dj's apartment was amazing - it had a fantastic view of the surrounding downtown KC area, and plenty of space to stretch out and relax. She also made sure it was stocked with snacks and drinks, which was a welcome surprise after many hours on the road. Her communication was prompt and friendly, and the couple of places we tried based on her list of recommendations were awesome. We wouldn't stay anywhere else in KC...thanks Dj!
My family and I enjoyed staying at this swanky, tastefully furnished loft. It is very centrally located, in the library district, and everything around is subject to a picturesque walk (such as quality hill). One wall is almost fully a window, giving a great view of downtown; however you can close the curtains on it to block the eastern morning sun.
Two things to keep in mind, if they matter to you:
1) One of the two beds is full-size, better suited for only one person;
2) due to special artistic design, none of the rooms are fully private
The hostess was very helpful and accommodating. We especially appreciated that there was some food in the fridge and that the house rules allowed to eat it. This was a Day saver, as we arrived late and tired from a day of long travel and we are in a pickle with our food options.
This was a cute loft and an excellent price in comparison to nearby hotels. As a first time AirBNB'r - I can't imagine a more perfect stay. We were left an excellent binder of nearby recommendations and the kitchen came fully stocked! Comfy beds, a clean unit... honestly, what else can you ask for? This was a touch of home living during a very long cross-country trip.
Location: Much of the neighborhood is under construction, but there are still a few great spots to check out in the neighborhood. Taking an uber or bus in town was fairly cheap. No worries if you don't have a car.
A beautiful 2 bedroom loft in downtown KC. We arrived very late in the evening but DJ had made arrangements for us to easily find the key and gain access to the loft. We quickly settled in with each of my kids eating some of the snacks she was kind enough to leave out. The beds are comfortable, the loft is spacious and spotlessly clean.
Just a heads up for those who are used to suburban or even city center hotels. There is street noise likely less on a weekday and more on a Friday or Saturday as you are close in to a very vibrant nightlife (certainly a plus for some) not so much for others. If you are a light sleeper you may want to bring earplugs.
We loved staying at DJ's apartment. She was very accommodating, checking in and out was a breeze, and her place was even cuter in person than in the pictures! The location was great (just blocks from Power and Light) and free, on-street parking wasn't hard to find. Thanks for a great experience DJ!
About the Host, Dj
I love living in Kansas City where I fill my time with nannying the most amazing 3-year-old little dude and equally stellar 11-month-old "ladybug", acting, singing, and working my catering business: The Acting Chef! Kansas City is one of those over-looked cities, but I'm in love with its strong theater, jazz, art, and sports scenes (even though I'm a loyal Tigers & Cardinals fan). We also hold some of my favorite restaurants ever, yes I LOVE good food. I am very proud of my geek side which is fueled by a love of Harry Potter, Doctor Who, Firefly, Friends and, of course, Big Bang Theory. Although I will often happily take a break from any of that to read, cook or play a game with my lovely friends!
I am excited for you to make my home your temporary home! My dream is to someday have my own Bed&Breakfast in England so being apart of Airbnb is something I truly treasure. It is such an honor to have someone choose your home to stay in and I take that responsibility very seriously. Don't be surprised if you find some homemade treats to welcome you!!
