Come stay in my home! I have a 750 sq foot corner loft with high ceilings and 7 large windows that look out from the 5th floor onto downtown Kansas City. The view is great, especially at night! My bedroom has a cozy double bed while my living room also holds a surprisingly comfortable queen sleeper sofa making my space perfect for 2 but able to accommodate up to 4. I have an open floor plan with lots of comfy seating. You also have full access to my kitchen, movie/book library, record player, and toiletries.
A Few Highlights:
-- internet access (including netflix, hulu+, and more)
-- great city views of downtown Kansas City
-- walking distance from Power & Light Entertainment District, River Market, The Sprint Center, The Midland and much more.
-- 2 minutes to all major interstates in Kansas City area (I-70, I-29, I-35, I-670); great for getting anywhere, fast!
-- 5 minutes from Crown Center, Crossroads Arts District, Union Station, 18th and Vine Jazz District, and more.
-- 20 minutes to Kansas City International Airport
My loft is right across the street from our beautiful downtown library; one of my favorite spots to explore. Within 2 blocks you will find a CVS, Cosentino's grocery store and Latte Land or Starbucks.
Parking would be on the street or you could pay for any of the near-by lots but I have never had a problem finding street space. Did I mention that the major downtown bus hub is located right outside my door?! My place is perfect for exploring all that KC has to offer!!
Devon was a fantastic host. She welcomed us on VERY short notice. Her place was lovely and she went out of her way to make sure we had everything we needed (plus treats!!). Kind host, charming loft, excellent value! Thanks Devon!
This apartment was perfect for my weekend Kansas City getaway. Only a couple of blocks from the Power and Light district and from the Sprint Center, I couldn't have picked a better place to stay! The apartment was stocked with all the essential amenties.. Clean sheets, towels, snacks, tv and netflix, free wi-fi! It was awesome! Will be back to Kansas City soon and have to stay in this spot again!
I had a very nice stay at Devon's. I was attending a conference at the Westin, about a 30 minute walk, and saved a couple of hundred dollars by staying at Devon's. Lots of good restaurants along Main, and in a year or two when the street car is in place, things should pick up even more.
Her place is quite spacious, which allowed me to work several hours a day without a problem, and during which time I took advantage of the offer of eating any food in the house! In general, it was quite clean and comfy -- I felt like I was visiting the home of an old friend.
Devon had a great apartment in the heart of the city, you feel right at home. She left us lots of snacks and sweet personal touches. I would for sure stay here again.
Devon is a rock star! Another stay, another warm welcome.
Devon's place was a perfect for our needs - walking distance from Power and Light, easy to find, and a great space. Her hospitality is hard to beat (p.s. thanks for the wine!). Where bang for your buck is concerned you simply won't find better. We will be looking her up for all of our KC trips!
Devon was a delight! So welcoming, made everything easy and gave such a warm welcome. Her place was super comfortable and well appointed. Thanks for a great stay!
We really enjoyed staying in Devon's loft. The loft was in a great location for everything that we went to do. Almost everything was within walking distance. The first night, we parked in the library parking garage ($8) which is right across the street. We could have parked on the street for free, but we would have had to move the car before 7am. The building was very secure and pretty quiet once in the room. The room is on the corner of the building, so there were a lot of windows. Everything was very clean. There was a nice assortment of breakfast items, coffees, teas, and snacks. We had a great time in Kansas City and we would definitely recommend staying at Devon's!
I just read your thoughtful and kind review and feedback. I truly appreciate when a guest lovingly helps me find ways to make their stay better and notes the things they really loved. I will definitely work more on the tub draining...it is my nemesis. As far as the paper towels they are stored with the toilet paper next to the tub, which might be to good of a hiding place and I did drop the ball on restocking them out on the counter so I do apologize. Again I just wanted to say that the thoughtful attention you put into your review and comments really made my day. I love being an Airbnb host as someday my dream is to have my own bead and breakfast and this is a great way to gain knowledge and meet wonderful people (unfortunately not in person with some) like you. I am so happy you enjoyed your stay and the snacks, that's why there there! Please come back anytime and if you do I would love to offer you 20% off as a thank you!! Have a happy day Rose!! Oh and your wedding photo is BEAUTIFUL!!!!
Economy-wise, Devon's loft cannot be beat. It is located in downtown Kansas City, right across the street from the library and close to the Power and Light District. The apartment is large and could easily accommodate more than a single individual.
Perhaps the best thing is how streamlined Devon has made the check-in process. It's as simple as buzzing in, taking a short elevator ride, and opening the door. You're home! Devon provides detailed directions on how to access the wifi, how to use her television and Roku, and has built an entire folder with brochures and recommendations for local sights and activities.
All this said, my favorite aspect of Devon's loft was her bed. She has one of the most comfortable beds I have ever had the pleasure to sleep in. The bed was worth sleeping in and paying a couple extra dollars at the parking garage. I was in Kansas City on business, and flew in earlier that day from Alaska. That bed was heaven.
It was a pleasure staying at Devon's place. Her loft was clean, walking distance to the Power and Light district and just a few minutes from the Plaza. She left snacks and drinks for us to munch on. She was easy to communicate with!
