I am offering my one bed room apt in downtown Austin. I live ON 7th street and the complex is just west of the Downtown area. The bedroom has a full queen size bed and a private bathroom. I am close to the best places Austin has to offer and can help you with navigating around the downtown / Lake Austin area. You can walk to grocery stores and also to the lake front. You can use guest parking. Best for one- two people, as there is just one full bathroom.
This is an ideal location for Austin City Limits, SXSW and F1. The apt complex is also on the bus stop and so public commute is easy should you prefer that.
Please write a few lines of introduction when requesting a stay. I look forward to hearing from you.
Had a great trip and experience staying at Rachel's place. Location was perfect, if you have a car, you can head into the city quick and enjoy the quiet neighborhood area of the apartment. The apartment was perfect for my boyfriend and I to spend the long weekend. Rachel was great in setting things up before we arrived and very flexible with our check out time. I would highly recommend!
Rachel's place worked out great and was in a great location! We were very pleased with our stay and would totally stay here again.
I had a great time staying here. Comfortable bed, great water pressure in the shower, sunny and plenty of pots, pans etc. for cooking. There is no real dining area nor desk type of set-up for working but I didn't really need that personally. The apt is an easy walk to the grocery store, pharmacy, a great diner, an outdoor public pool and a massage place. Perfect for one person or a couple who just need a place at the beginning and end of the day. Rachel isn't around but was quick to answer any questions/issues I ran into via text message.
I stayed for a week.
Pros - clean space, excellent shower water pressure(like a massage), closet to hang your stuff up,
Cons- i'm used to other airbnbs providing welcome information like maps of area, bus route schedules, restaurant recommendations, nearest grocery and laundromat etc. i was left totally on my own to figure everything out. I ended up spending a lot of money using uber because i didn't know where the nearest bus stops were and where they went. I had to ask people i crossed paths in the neighborhood where the best priced local grocery stores, closest laundromats were, where the bus stops were that would get me to downtown, etc. A nice space, but the lacking information made it a lot harder to acclimate to the city
Rachel was Great! She accommodated our crazy itinerary that moved around several times due to my Mother-in-law who has full time care.
Overall, my friend and I enjoyed our stay at Rachel's apartment. The apartment was clean, the bed was comfortable (the couch wasn't though, so I wouldn't recommend a third person), and we had a kitchen with everything we could need, minus a microwave. There was plenty of room to unpack and it was nicely decorated. The TV had a DVD player (no cable), and when the WiFi didn't work, Rachel quickly called Time Warner to fix it. The apartment was in a great location and very quiet with street parking. It was close to Zilker Park, a grocery store/shopping center, and only a few miles from downtown. We did have to ask Rachel about how to get the key, where to park, how to clean up the apartment, etc; I've had more welcoming hosts before. But she was quick to respond to any questions I had.
