About this listing
Excellent location, great backyard, close to trails, and some of Durango's finest establishments. Dog friendly! Looking for 30-day renters.
Awesome little bamboo-floored house with lots of windows, great back yard and instant hot water (I'm a coffee drinker).
But the best part is how close it is to Animas mountain and mountain biking, bouldering and hiking! So let me describe how easy it is to vacation from this house!
Start your morning off with breakfast at Durango Doughworks, one of the best grab-and-go places in town (or dine in). After you've had your fill, take a quick hike up Animas mountain (and 8500 foot hill - our term here), but don't forget to bring your climbing shoes (the best bouldering spot in town). When you're finished, relax with a cup of tea (this place has instant hot water). Next, you're up for a trip downtown - oh, but you can take the FREE trolley. There is a stop right near my house. You do your thing downtown, and then take the Durango Trolley (the T) back and now you feel like another workout. That's easy, you stroll across the street to the Durango Rec center and lift some weights, or shoot hoops or drop off the kids at the pool while you soak in the hot tub. OK, time for dinner... You have a lot of options in walking distance, but pizza and beer sounds good to you. A 3 minute walk gets you to Homeslice Pizza and across the street is Durango Brewery. You end your day with a fire on the deck next to the chiminea.
I love my house, and you will too! Easy to pack in and out... Off alley parking with front door parking available too! One master bedroom, and two futons to share. Downstairs TV room also available. Bring you dog too (just one please). This house is fun and a great quick rental (30-day inquires only).

House was great for us. Loved that the backyard was fenced in due to our dog. Loved the backyard. Loved the screen door. The location to town worked for us. The downstairs room was cozy and liked having netflix. Kitchen worked well for us- well stocked. The house was very comfortable. We would stay again.
Walker made our trip to Durango to mountain bike easy and welcoming. We loved being able to bring our pup, and his house was in a great location to explore Durango and get downtown on the trolley.
Walker made us feel very welcome as well as being very accepting of our dog. His laid back attitude and tips for hiking and mountain biking we're greatly appreciated. Everything was just as advertised.
Walker's home was perfect for our ski trip to Durango. Walker's home was warm and welcoming and perfect for mountain access. I will definitely recommend Walker's home to friends and family.
We had a short but lovely stay at Walkers. He was very attentive to answering our questions.
Overall a great experience. Walker was a pleasure to work with. Great mountain biking advice too. The house was in a great location, second only to downtown, in my opinion. Great access to the rec center, river, trails, and only ~1.5 miles from downtown. The house was good. A bit of a tight fit for my wife and 3 kids under 3yo but we know that coming in and we made it work. My only complaint is that things were not very well maintained, for instance faucets dripped, drains didn't drain well, one (of the two) microwaves didn't work, etc. All things that were minor nuisances rather than significant deal breakers considering the glory of Durango and Walker's place in general.
About the Host, Walker
I live in Durango, CO and I love this place! I also love my home... The best part of Durango is the country lifestyle mixed with athletic adventure - which kind of fits me perfectly! I'm an avid mountain biker - cross country and downhill, climber and back country skier - so you if want beta, you're renting from the right person. I'm VERY active in the technology and business community in Durango, as well as the community at large. I hope you choose to rent from me one day - you'll love this house!
