A fantastic, modern, 1 bed apartment in the heart of Old Street/Shoreditch. Well located for some of Londons best restaurants and coolest bars. Bikram Yoga 2 mins away.
The apartment has a large spacious living area with a dining table, sofa, and day bed, which can comfortably accommodate one more person, to take the apartment capacity to 3 on request (which must be agreed in advance). There is a 37" HD TV, with a built-in digital tuner and a dvd player attached.
There is wi-fi in the apartment. It comes via fibre and is very fast and reliable. I offer it free but being what it is I can’t control the occasional fluctuation. The password is on the noticeboard.
A fully fitted kitchen with oven/fridge/freezer. The bedroom has a very comfortable double bed, chest of drawers and built-in wardrobe. The apartment has a modern bathroom with shower/bath. There is a balcony, which is great for enjoying the warm summer nights, and relaxing after a busy day in London.
The building is very safe as it has a secure entrance, and concierge.
Perfectly located, the flat makes a great base for single professionals or couples working in the city or socialising in Shoreditch, Hoxton, Clerkenwell, Islington, and the West-end is only short bus ride. It's on the corner Nile Street / Provost street, London N1 and is 5 mins to Old street tube (Northern line) and walking distance from the Angel, Islington. The Northern Line gives you quick and easy access to Kings Cross/St Pancras, and from there you can catch trains all over the UK, to Luton airports and the Eurostar the France and Belgium.
The apartment is also just a short walk to the vibrant and eclectic area of Shoreditch and Brick Lane, where you can visit the best curry houses in London, browse the vintage shops and visit some of the most interesting and eclectic bars and clubs in town! Spitalfields Market is also just a stones throw from the apartment, Sunday's Columbia Road Flower Market is very close by too.
There are heaps of bars and restaurants within walking distance of the apartment, Jamie Oliver's '15' restaurant is a couple of mins away, William IV pub is round the corner, and The Tramshed, The Rivington, Hawksmoor, and The Great Eastern Dining Rooms are all minutes away.
A Tesco supermarket is less than 5 mins, with Sainsbury's and Waitrose not much further.
The Barbican is an easy walk, as is The White Cube. You can get direct buses to London Bridge for Borough Market and Tate Modern.

Steve did an excellent job outlining the flat, the amenities of the Shoreditch area and how to get in and out of the apartment building. The flat was spacious and clean and contained all the requirements necessary for a convenient stay in London.
I rented Steve’s place for my mom, as she would stay in London for 2 weeks and I couldn’t host her. It was the first time she used Airbnb, and she couldn’t be more impressed! The apartment is great, with a huge living room, a cosy bedroom and a modern and well equipped kitchen. When we got there, everything was super clean, and there were even fresh flowers in the house. Steve was very thoughtful, and texted me every now and then to check if my mom needed anything. I would definitely recommend the apartment. Thanks, Steve!
Second time at Steve's place and enjoyed it just as much.
The apartment was perfect for our week stay in London. Well-appointed so that we could feel like it was our home while away. The place was in a good location, about a five minute walk to the nearest tube stop to get to other areas, as well as central to area stores and restaurants. The building also feels safe and secure. Steve was a great host and always in communication and checking in with us to see if there was anything we needed or had questions on. I would definitely recommend this flat and look to stay here again when we come back to London.
Steve does a first-class job. The apartment is clean and exactly as described. There were fresh-cut flowers in every room -- when's the last time you saw that in a hotel? The area is generally a residential neighborhood and was very quiet at night. Communication with Steve was **excellent**. Check-in/out process was super-easy. Many thanks, Steve, I hope to stay there again.
Had a great stay in Steve's apartment. Really great place with everything you need and very secure. The location is ideal for transport and everything in the area. I would highly recommend it and will definitely stay again
Steve's flat is the perfect base for a stay in London. It's comfortable, stylish, well equipped, quiet and with plenty space for two people. Ideally situated for pubs, restaurants, shops and other local amenities, it's only a couple of minutes' walk to the tube. All this, and Steve's a nice bloke and good communicator too. We'd stay again and would recommend it to our friends.
Steve was easy to communicate with and although I did not meet him in person, getting into the flat was relatively simple. The area is OK, it's very handy to bike places with the barclays bikes and the old st tube is 5 mins, and there are also a lot of bus links. Do be aware that the top end of the st has a lot of council housing and there was a few ambulance and police there a coupe of times when I walked up there. The window on the bedroom is out onto the st and you do get a bit of noise from people at night, but it's not that bad and never caused me much of an issue.
The flat itself is great, nice big lounge with a little balcony. The bed is comfy and a nice bathroom.
Do be aware that if you plan on ordering any food for delivery there is no way to buzz the flat, and they won't call an overseas mobile so that was a bit tricky.
Quick response: The ground-floor entry system buzzes my phone by default. It means I can let guests in remotely, and in emergencies (if they've been locked out). I can, and do change that, on request or if someone is there for while.
There is also a landline in the flat (and a mobile that you can use on request). I can attest to the fact that most guests indulge themselves with deliveries at one point or another as we generally have to empty the garbage afterwards.
As for noise, when the windows closed you can hear hardly anything. As most of the other reviews say
Thanks for an easy stay. the apartment is nice and bright. the bedroom is facing the street and can be a little loud at night. otherwise, great communication and would stay here again.
I cannot speak highly enough of our experience with Steve. We never met him in person, as he let us into the apartment remotely, but communication was excellent and he was very friendly via text and email. The apartment was very clean and comfortable, including everything one needs (including a drying rack, which we have never found in another rental). The location is excellent, an easy walk to Hoxton/Shoreditch/Brick Lane areas, and only a couple of blocks from the Old Street stop on the Northern Line of the tube. We would definitely stay there again.
