The Space

Three spacious rooms; a main bedroom, a kitchen with a dining area and a bright living room, bathroom. Sleeps two people

The house is located in one of the prettiest streets in Trastevere, a neighborhood rich in history and culture, besids being one of the most lively districts of the capital.
My street is away from the noise of the more crowded streets of Trastevere, but close enought to all of it, for those who want it all :) The Botanical Garden is a few minutes walk from home. Next to its entrance is the Corsini Gallery, which houses works from the Baroque period ( including Guido Reni, Caravaggio, Rubens) and infront of the Gallery is the Accademia dei Lincei, meeting spot for world leading scientist including Galileo Galilei.

As you access my street, for those who enjoy contemporary art, one of the most well known Art Gallery is located here, just a few blocks down from home. "Fondazione Volume". If, instead you prefer history, you can visit "La Casa della Memoria e della Storia", "House of Memory and History" an institution of Rome representing the historical remembrance of antifascism, the Resistance and the War of Liberation.

If you get hangry or want to simply enjoy a coffee, then I suggest you step into the "Casa Internazionale delle Donne" the "International Womens House" located at n.1 of my street. You will step into a beautiful "700 courtyard where you can enjoy a light organic meal and simply relax reading a book under the shade of centuries old palm trees. At night, only women are allowed in! Cultural events are hosted here all year long.

Local food shops, grocery, fruit and veggy, pizzerias, just a few minutes walk from home. You can easily walk anywhere from here and I suggest you rent a bike to get around the city in the smartest, way of all :) Both summer of winter. Never too cold in Rome to have to give up my bike

When you are done with Trastevere, two minutes walk accross the bridge on the river Tiber and you are in Piazza Campo dei Fiori, Piazza Navona, Pantheon, all the main Piazze in Rome.

The apartment has wifi and washing machine. And... such an atmosphere. Trust me!

  • Chiara is a really attentive host and accommodated us perfectly during our stay. The apartment is beautifully decorated, located centrally in Trastevere and walking distance to all of Rome's attractions. I highly recommend staying here.

  • Chiara was a kind and generous host. She was very organized and even left us food and coffee for breakfasts. The apartment is large and unique, and located in an excellent yet quiet spot in Trastevere. We highly recommend.

  • Great location in the middle of Trastevere but away from the noise and walking distance to Vatican, Campo de Fiori and other attractions. Chiara was very responsive and ensured a smooth check-in for us. She also had prepared a nice pasta dish for us as we had a late check-in, which was super gracious of her and very much appreciated after a long day of flying.

The apartment itself is spacious with nice views of cobbled stone streets and tiled roofs of Trastevere from the living room windows. Will definitely want to come and stay here again.

  • We spent 19 days here through the middle of May. A spacious one bedroom flat, it's ideally situated near the center of Rome and minutes away from the active center of Trastevere. It's in a very quiet neighborhood with a southern exposure making it sunny and bright in the middle of the day. The bed was comfortable. Our host was very helpful and gracious and made us feel right at home. We were content and happy. We would happily return and stay there again.

  • We stayed for 7 nights at Chiara's lovely flat - so glad we did. The location is fantastic, 5-10 minutes walk from the Vatican in one direction and 5 minutes from the heart of Trastevere in the other. Couldn't have asked for more. Chiara answered all my queries and questions very quickly, the flat itself was bright, clean and felt just like home. If you are thinking of visiting Rome - look no further! We will defiantly be coming back and i would recommend it to anyone.

  • My friend and I stayed here for 5 nights, and it was really lovely. Chiara was an excellent host, helping to arrange travel to and from the airport as we arrived very late our first night and explaining everything when we settled in. Overall, the flat is spacious - plenty of space for 2 people! The bedroom was very nice and the bed was really comfortable. The biggest selling point is it's location - 15 min walk to the Vatican, 15 min walk to all the other main attractions across the river, and the area of Trastevere is beautiful! Definitely our favourite area in Rome, lots of lovely bars and restaurants, cobble streets and piazzas!
The only thing we would mention that wasn't exactly what we expected was the breakfast. Chiara did provide us with tea/coffee, milk, and some biscuits for the 5 days we were there, so for some people that might be perfect for breakfast, but we ended up buying some cereal and bread etc. A really minor thing, but just something to know incase you were expecting a more traditional breakfast.
We would absolutely stay here again next time we visited and would recommend it!

  • We had a very enjoyable stay in Chiara's flat. It is spacious, well equiped and decorated, bright with a nice view on the Gianicolo. It is located in a great location: a very quiet street in Trastevere, away from the tourists, with nice local shops and restaurants. Everything in Rome can be reached walking. I hope it will stay at a reasonable price in the future so we can come back and have a chance to meet Chiara!

  • Chiara's flat is in a brilliant location. It's only 5 mins walk from the bustling nightlife of Trastevere whilst still being down a quiet street. The Vatican is only 15mins walk and whilst central Rome is only 15 mins away it was lovely to come back to Trastevere for a drink at night. Chiara explained everything & made us feel reassured. Her flat was ideal and we loved every minute of our week long stay.

  • I had a wonderful time in Rome and Chiara's apartment was really perfect. It's a lovely old world apartment with beautiful stone floors and very thick walls, which keeps the apartment very cool even in the hottest days of summer. The apartment is conveniently located to necessities but away from local bars, very clean, and spacious. She's a wonderful hostess and greeted me into her home with a plate of warm pasta. She also took the time to show me the best places in her neighborhood. I highly recommend this apartment!

About
Ciao, sono Chiara! I was born in Rome and live here. My mother is Australian, so that makes me "half" Australian too:) I work in Communications and I'm specialized in Media Relations and Press offices. Mostly in the Healthcare and medical sector, besides Culture and Lifestyle. I like to travel and have always prefered private homes to hotels. I like to enjoy the real atmosphere of places and enjoy local way of life. I practice Yoga and meditation. I am very active person and like to exchange, share and socialize. I am looking for positive and bright people who like to travel and spend their time not in expensive and formal hotels but in homes and enjoy their atmosphere just like I do. I am often away for work and having someone taking good care of my house when I am away makes me feel good. My guests have always felt very welcome in my home and I have always welcomed them back when they have decided to return!
