About This Listing
Safest, wealthiest, prettiest, oldest, most convenient and historic neighborhood in Brooklyn! Historic Landmark building is only 5 minutes from Downtown Manhattan via subway! You will love my apartment and neighborhood as much as I do :).
Private bedroom is large and sunny, but the dining area, kitchen (average), and bathroom (small) are shared with tenant (myself) who has been living in NYC/Brooklyn for 20 years. I'm an excellent tour guide, so you have yourself a FREE concierge thrown in :).
My apartment comfortably fits 2 guests in addition to myself, the tenant.
My place is very charming, quaint, cozy, naturelike and has lots of character - along with my Lhasa-Poo Nilla. So, if you're looking for something less sterile, plain, sparse and modern, definitely stay here. The building is dated from 1900, and includes original detailed flooring and massively high ceilings. It also has a gorgeous view of the historical gothic cathedral St. Ann & the Holy Trinity Church, known for having America's first ever stained glass windows.
**Free breakfast, unlimited tea, and local magazines (Time Out NY, NY Mag, etc.)/newspapers (amNY, Metro, Village Voice, etc.) provided. Fresh linens, towels, and toiletries provided.**
Bathroom, dining area and kitchen are (website hidden) and Computer are off limits.
Interaction with Guests
When I'm working a lot, I'm not able to interact too much other than at check in, check out, or after work. I work a lot from home as well.
I will be present at the listing during your stay, but I am out often at work, meetings and events.
My dog, Nilla, however, will interact with you as often as she possibly can! ;)

Bob Dylan's "Tangled Up in Blue" Lyrics:
I lived with them on Montague Street
In a basement down the stairs
There was music in the cafes at night
And revolution in the air

Sara's has a fine selection of teas, the apartment is clean, and in a good neighbourhood.
I however did not feel at all welcome. While standing in the streets of NYC, after eight hours in transit, my reservation was almost cancelled, while in phone conversation with my host. This was extremely uncomfortable and upsetting. Basically if I did not arrive EXACTLY at the prescribed time Sara was going to cancel the reservation. Sara also said she was thinking of cancelling the reservation anyhow as she was very busy. After two days I found another place to stay, which I thought was a good resolve to our situation. But this simply led to another series of stressful correspondence.
Really great location with loads of places to eat nearby. We didn't use the kitchen at all, so breakfast places nearby was a must. Also very convenient for subway as several stations were within walking distance (one right across the street).
There was clean all over.
The bathroom is SO small, but there is what you need.
The bed was super comfortable, and I didn't even once wake up with a headache, which I normally does when not sleeping in my own bed. The bedroom had a lot of stuff in it, and we would recommend clearing a few shelves when having guests. We only used the apartment to sleep in. In the morning we stayed in the bedroom until Sara had left. Both because she had to be at work at a certain time and we didn't have a schedule.
We would stay out all day and not come back until 10 PM and then go straight to bed. Therefore we didn't interact with Sara as much as we can see that some guests have done, but we had nothing to complaine about, in our contact with Sara and here nice little dog
Sara was extremely courteous, accommodating, and hospitable. I would highly recommend her as a host.

Sara is a friendly host. She will give you tips and information on what's happening around the city that you can check out which is very helpful for first time visitor like me. In addition, this apartment is in a very heart of Brooklyn heights that allows you to travel to the major attractions easily with public transportation.
Amazing location, just a few blocks from the Brooklyn Heights Promenade with a breathtaking view of Manhattan. It's a historic district with lots of nice little shops and cafés. Sara provides a guide with her top recommendations in the area. She is an excellent host and goes out of her way to accommodate her guests. Super clean apartment with everything you need on a trip to NYC, where you'll spend your time exploring the city anyway: A comfortable bed, sheets, towels, toiletries, everything perfectly clean. Sara is a very kind person. Communication was easy and smooth, she replies to mails and texts very quickly. Oh, and she has the cutest little dog ever. I wish I've had more time to chat with Sara and to explore the fascinating neighborhood. Well, next time!
