About this listing
We look forward to hosting you in our South Tampa guesthouse!
We have a private entrance guesthouse for rent complete with full kitchen, large fridge, wireless internet, updated bathroom, queen-sized Murphy bed, and television. We are just a few blocks off beautiful Bayshore Blvd and a Starbucks is just steps away for those early mornings. In addition, the famous Datz Deli is just a couple blocks away! We are about 2 miles from all the bars and restaurants of South Howard Ave and nearby Hyde Park. We often ride our bikes downtown to catch a Lightning game or hop in our car for the 20 minute drive to downtown St. Pete or to Florida's best beaches and the airport is only about 6 miles away.
This is a newly renovated, approximately 350 sq ft guesthouse of a preserved 1926 bungalow in the heart of South Tampa. We are both young professionals and are excited about the opportunity to host. We'd be more than happy to help point you in the direction of some of our favorite spots to help you get the most out of your stay.
Guests will have private entryway to the entire guesthouse.
South Tampa is a great location, very centrally located to the best of Tampa Bay and very close to all of Tampa's most popular restaurants and bars. South Howard and downtown are just a few blocks away off Bayshore Blvd, and St. Pete, Busch Gardens, and the beaches are all within a 30 minute drive.
There is a bus stop just up the street, or a bike rental shop one block away. Lyft and Uber are also great options.
Other Things to Note
They just started new home construction on the property across the street. This may cause some minor noise and parking issues due to the narrow South Tampa streets, though we will do our best to accommodate and make it work. Please tell us in advance if you plan to bring a pet with you.
Please try not to be too loud. You must love dogs and cats as we have one of each on the premises. We also have a couple of chickens with fresh eggs and plenty of herbs growing in the yard that we'd be happy to share (weather and quantities permitting). Please try to clean up after yourself and treat the place as if it were your own. You also must be nice!
Excellent location to stay in South Tampa, what a beautiful neighborhood they live in. We felt very welcomed and had a great private space in their guest house. Everything was as Joe described in the listing and the little extras they left in the room was great!
The bed was a big murphy bed, which is an excellent use of space, it was a little too squeaky for me and being a light sleeper this tough for me. Otherwise the only thing I had an issue is with is that I had to walk through wet grass every morning to get to the sidewalk and going to a business meeting in leather shoes, I had to blow dry them so they wouldn't get ruined. Would love to see some pathway stones added.
This was definitely one of our best Airbnb experiences. Joe and his wife are both excellent hosts. Joe greeted us at his front door, gave us a tour of his property and then showed us to the guest house in the backyard. Really clean place and very spacious for 2 people. He prepared us some cookies, and even gave us some dog treats to give to his pup Elvis whenever we leave the house! He even provided some maps of the surrounding area as well as coupons to museums, and food recommendations as well. And he was a Gator so that was +!
They were especially hospitable when a storm hit Tampa and caused a pretty bad flood around the area. It's apparently very rare for it to happen so we weren't too worried... but Joe and his wife were extremely helpful in that time.
All-in-all: excellent AirBNB experience.
Joe and his wife provided a clean, conveniently located, private guest house that was a completely positive experience! Little requests we had were granted with quick rresponses via text. We would love to stay there again if we need to be in South Tampa!
We enjoyed staying in Joe and Kaitlyn's guesthouse. It was cute and comfortable. The neighborhood was quiet and the location was central to everything we needed.
The guest house itself was a nice space. It had a well-equipped kitchen, a nice bathroom, and a comfortable living area. It was very quiet: there was no noise from the street to deal with or any distractions, even during spring break.
Joe and Kaitlyn were excellent hosts. We went for a birthday get-away, and upon our arrival, we found birthday cookies that our hosts had left for us. Our hosts were there when we needed them but didn't hover, and their dog and cat often said hi, too. They really thought of everything, even putting a flashlight on the house key in case it was dark when we came home and forgot to turn on the outside light.
Overall, we really enjoyed our stay, and we're very glad we booked with Joe!
This immaculately clean and comfortable guesthouse was in an adorable neighborhood in South Tampa. A quick jaunt over to Bayshore Boulevard to jog along the harbor, blocks away from restaurants on MacDill Avenue, and easy access on the expressway to downtown Tampa. The hosts are exceptionally kind and accommodating. We would absolutely stay here on our next visit to Tampa.
Super cute place. Joe was very easy to work with. Quick to reply. This is how airbnb should always work out! Recommended.
Joe was a fantastic host! He made sure we were settled in, gave us a quick tour of the guesthouse and amenities, and told us all about the exciting changes happening in downtown Tampa. We were only there for a night, but it would have been a great retreat for a longer vacation.

About the Host, Joe
Kaitlyn is a former prosecutor and Joe works for a bank, though his mind is always venturing off to plan our next great adventure to some far off destination. We love to travel and get to know new people. Joe is a Gator, and Kaitlyn is a Bulldog and yet, we find a way to make it work!
