Rural setting felt like we were in the jungle but yet actually just minutes from town. Hosts had our room ready, had a very detailed informational book about the area, and had a very comprehensive breakfast laid out every morning. We were satisfied.
Communication très facile avec Peter.
Cottage avec vue dans un jardin tropical, sensation d'être en permanence à l'extérieur (ouvertures avec moustiquaires).
Logement bien équipé.
My boyfriend and I stayed at this beautiful cottage for 11 nights early July.
Barb took care of us as Peter was out during our stay. Barb was a great host!
The cottage was equipped with everything we needed, and location was just perfect: a little above the ocean so temperature decreased at night, not far from awesome snorkeling spots, and the view was unbelievable! We could see Captain Cook Monument from the cottage!
We tried almost all the restaurants Barb mentioned to us, and they were all very good, especially Sun Dried Specialties for fresh fish and delicious poke!
Our overall experience was really like staying in a paradise place, with wonderful hosts on a paradise island. We'll be back!
The cottage is amazing, with the most picturesque views and peaceful surroundings. The place was well equipped for our stay and was very comfortable. Peter's friends Barb and Rob were looking after the place in Peter's absence and were wonderful hosts. Very friendly and accomodating they made us feel welcome and were available if we needed their advice or assistance. We were very happy with our stay and would stay at the cottage again. Thank you so much.
Aloha :) this was the perfect place to stay! I would definitely recommend Red Ti Hale it's away from the tourist traps & has beautiful views. Barbara was very hospitable & offered to take us snorkeling. I forgot a bag & they offered to bring it to airport (I was already past security check-point) they are going to ship it for me! It was my very first time to the island & it was magical. Look no further this is the place to stay! Mahalo
Wonderful spot just south of Kona. The place is truly special, with wrap around screened-in windows and a great view. I would definitely come back and recommend.
Spent four very enjoyable days at Peter's cottage. Delightful garden setting with lovely views. Excellent sleeping comfort and a very helpful snd friendly host!

About the Host, Peter And Barbara
Peter and Barbara have mixed histories on the Big Island. Peter, a 20 year resident and recently retired, is enjoying all the water sports available within a few minutes of his home, especially snorkeling and stand up paddling. Barbara is newer to Hawaii and commutes from the main land to join Peter with his adventures as often as possible. Both are passionate about the South Kona area and give back to the community that has given them so much by volunteering for Habitat for Humanity and Friends of Manini Beach. Peter is an avid gardener and when not on the water can be found planting, transplanting and trimming in his exotic Hawaiian garden. Barbara, when not following Peter on some bay or reef excursion, is busy identifying and learning the habits of the local birds that share the accommodations on their beautiful parcel of land. Both find time daily to sit quietly and watch incredible sunsets on Kealekakua Bay from the lanai of their recently renovated historic Hawaiian home.
