Want a bright, airy retreat in Chicago that is convenient to not only the "classic" Chicago sights but also to some gorgeous little neighborhood spots that will make you smile? Look no further! Our 2 bedroom, 2 full bath (with a total of three showers) is perfect for a couple looking to relax, a family in town taking in the sites or a few friends looking for a unique and affordable way to see Chicago. Beyond the two bedrooms we have a big ol' couch, a loveseat, and a cot that kiddos could totally sleep on. The master bedroom has a queen bed and the second bedroom has a comfy full size futon (it really is comfy don' t worry). We are on the third floor of a walk up so if you are not into some stairs, this might not be the place for you!
We have a bus directly in front of our place (#65) that will take you to the Lakefront/Navy Pier/Michigan Ave in about 10 minutes. We are a 10-15 minute walk from two of Chicago's great "L" trains that can get you to O'Hare (blue line) or Midway (green line to orange line) as well as downtown.
Our neighborhood, West Town, is peppered with great little restaurants, shops and bars. Ruxbin, Mexique, Roots Pizza, La Scarola, Yuzu Sushi, The Matchbox, Twisted Spoke (1/2 price on all whiskeys on the menu on Wednesdays and they have a killer selection) and so many more great places within walking distance. Dovetail and Seek Vintage have some fantastic vintage clothes, accessories and little items for your home. Within a 10-15 minute walk (or very quick bus ride), you will find a little hub of great furniture shops (vintage and new) such as The Painted Lady and Urban Remains are just a few standouts in this very cool row of shops. The neighborhood, for as close as it is to so much, is relaxed and friendly. Also we are a quick walk, bus or cab ride from Wicker Park and Bucktown, where you have dozens of fun restaurants and nightlife.
If you drive into Chicago, street parking is a breeze around here-no meters or zoning restrictions...Just watch for street cleaning signs! We have a sweet little deck in the back that is great for having a snack or sipping a glass of wine or delicious craft beer found at our little neighborhood grocery store Green Grocer Chicago (full disclosure-we own Green Grocer Chicago so we are a bit biased of course but truly you can find some really fantastically delicious foods/drinks there!).
There is no smoking in our apartment or on our deck. We had a recent guest set a fire on our deck due to a cigarette ember so absolutely no smoking on our WOODEN deck. If you insist on engaging in this disgusting and unnecessary habit, you must go to the front concrete steps of the building and close all doors behind you. We will ask you to leave if we find out you have been smoking on our deck or inside.
We ask for a two night minimum stay over weekends but always email us even if you only need it for one night (especially last minute-we can be even more flexible!)
All in all, we think you'll love our place. It's modern but cozy and comfortable. We have free wifi, ROKU, a great open kitchen with a view of the Sears, excuse me, Willis Tower and generally just a happy place to land after you go out and explore this incredible town!

Perfect location to explore the city. No65 bus just across the street. The apartment is spacious and great for just lazing around in after a long day sight seeing in the city.
The main bed was fantastic and we got a great nights sleep. The second bed not so good. My son really struggled on the last few nights. Sleep quality poor.
Everything you need is in the apartment just bring your own personal stuff.
The heating is noisy but you are warned about that in the apartment handout.
All in all a good experience and we would recommend the apartment for a stay.

Cassie and Gary's place was just perfect for our weekend. Clean, spacious, modern, and truly sunny! We also loved the convenient location; super easy to get to the airport and all over the city. The hosts definitely made us feel at home, as everything was neatly organized and defined. The space was a wonderful, welcoming home base for our trip. Their store, the Green Grocer was really cute, and the staff there quite friendly. I highly recommend!
We stayed at Cassie and Gary's Apartment over Spring Break. It was our first Airbnb stay and it was thoroughly enjoyable. Nice big apartment with plenty of space to spread out. Great Kitchen better than ours at home. Location is pretty convenient to bus lines and a little walk to the trains (would probably be a more comfortable walk in spring or fall). Only real downside to the apartment is the hike up the stairs the first day with luggage (unfortunately there was no Sherpa option offered). Definitely recommend using the Green Grocer - as it is convenient and has a small but nice selection of foods.
We just got home from a cozy weekend at Cassie and Gary's, spacious, clean and beautiful home. Meeting our boyfriends, who were passing through Chicago on a tour with their band, they provided us with a home away from home -- and that was just what we needed ! Especially when Saturday's weather gave us snow, we enjoyed the comfort of their comfortable home and ordered in Oggis (local Italian food) watched movies and stayed in! The location is beyond convenient, picking up the keys and getting in to the apartment was simple as ever, and The Green Grocer is adorable! We did most of our shopping there, and they have a wonderful selection of wine. I would stay here again !
Great weekend in Chicago with 4 people staying at the apartment. The apartment was in a great location from the center of town but not in a busy neighborhood so parking was easy. The place itself was very neat and organised but still had a homey feel to it so was very comfortable. The beds were comfortable and clean. The only negative was that the remote controls for the TV were a nightmare but we didn't watch TV all that much anyways. Will definitely try and stay there again next time we are Chicago.
Hey Armand-so sorry about the TV! It seems like guests occasionally like to try and "fix stuff" and they move wires to the point where we have no idea what has gone wrong. I wasn't able to fiddle with the TV before you stayed (and I'm guessing someone was messing with it before that)-so sorry about that. I have been trying to streamline that and also ask people to not play technician : )
Cassie and Gary's place is in a great location with easy street parking. The condo has a nice sunny living space and kitchen and ample sized bedrooms. Cassie was great to work with and left really clear directions. Their grocery down the street is wonderful too! We had a really nice weekend stay.
We had an excellent 3-night stay at Cassie's and Gary's apartment. The place was perfect and our hosts very friendly and helpful. Highly recommend!
We had a lovely stay at Cassie and Gary's apartment in West Town. It was quiet, family-friendly, and spacious. Cassie and Gary were also ready to help us find a babysitter and their grocery store is also lovely. Getting to town is no problem with the bus just off the corner. If you need a taxi, you can call Chicago's taxi service or walk down to Ogden where they are slightly easier to hail. Highly recommended.
Myself and 5 friends stayed at Cassie's place for 3 nights. Apartment is exactly as advertised, clean, roomy and located in a great area (everything you need is within a short walk). Parking was a piece of cake, also public transportation (subway & bus) were both very accessible. Cassie's was very accommodating for our group, top notch communication. She even left us a few local craft beers to enjoy after our long drive into town. I highly recommend this flat for anyone visiting the windy city!
We stayed for 3 nights in Cassie and Gary flats. I was a great time.
The flat is great, very comfortable and well located. Parking our car was not a problem at all.
The only weakness is that we were so busy in visisting the city that we have not had the time to enjoy the flat.
We recommend this adress and we thank Cassie and Gary for accepting to lend their home.
