About this listing
Amazing skyline view from the kitchen!!
***If our place is showing available, it is actually available so we will not be able to reply to inquiries asking if it is available. If you want to book it, please just send a request. Also, we will need guests to (at the very least) have phone, email and (website hidden) verification. Ok, on to the fun stuff now...***
Want a bright, airy retreat in Chicago that is convenient to not only the "classic" Chicago sights but also to some gorgeous little neighborhood spots that will make you smile? Look no further! Our 2 bedroom, 2 full bath (with a total of three showers) is perfect for a couple looking to relax, a family in town taking in the sites or a few friends looking for a unique and affordable way to see Chicago. Beyond the two bedrooms we have a big ol' couch, a loveseat, and a cot that kiddos could totally sleep on. The master bedroom and second bedroom both have queen beds.
We are on the third floor of a walk up so if you are not into some stairs, this might not be the place for you!
We have a bus directly in front of our place (#65) that will take you to the Lakefront/Navy Pier/Michigan Ave in about 10 minutes. We are a 10-15 minute walk from two of Chicago's great "L" trains that can get you to O'Hare (blue line) or Midway (green line to orange line) as well as downtown.
Our neighborhood, West Town, is peppered with great little restaurants, shops and bars. Ruxbin, Mexique, Coalfire Pizza, TWO, Roots Pizza, La Scarola, Yuzu Sushi, The Matchbox, Twisted Spoke (1/2 price on all whiskeys on the menu on Wednesdays and they have a killer selection) and so many more great places within walking distance. Dovetail and Seek Vintage have some fantastic vintage clothes, accessories and little items for your home. Within a 10-15 minute walk (or very quick bus ride), you will find a little hub of great furniture shops (vintage and new) such as The Painted Lady and Urban Remains are just a few standouts in this very cool row of shops. The neighborhood, for as close as it is to so much, is relaxed and friendly. Also we are a quick walk, bus or cab ride from Wicker Park and Bucktown, where you have dozens of fun restaurants and nightlife.
If you drive into Chicago, street parking is a breeze around here-no meters or zoning restrictions...Just watch for street cleaning signs! We have a sweet little deck in the back that is great for having a snack or sipping a glass of wine or delicious craft beer found at our little neighborhood grocery store Green Grocer Chicago (full disclosure-we own Green Grocer Chicago so we are a bit biased of course but truly you can find some really fantastically delicious foods/drinks there!).
There is no smoking in our apartment or on our deck. We had a recent guest set a fire on our deck due to a cigarette ember so absolutely no smoking on our WOODEN deck. If you insist on smoking please go to the front concrete steps of the building and close all doors behind you. We will ask you to leave if we find out you have been smoking on our deck or inside.
We ask for a two night minimum stay over weekends but always email us even if you only need it for one night (especially last minute-we can be even more flexible!)
All in all, we think you'll love our place. It's modern but cozy and comfortable. We have free wifi, ROKU, a great open kitchen with a view of the Sears, excuse me, Willis Tower and generally just a happy place to land after you go out and explore this incredible town!
In unit laundry
Interaction with Guests
We are usually out of town and rarely have a chance to meet guests in person
Very easy walking to bars, restaurants and public transportation. Minutes to the loop!
Very easy ! Bus is right across the street that will take you to the loop,Navy Pier, or to the blue line train for a 35 minute ride to Ohare airport. 10 minute walk to the green line that can get you to Midway airport with an easy transfer to the Orange line.
Cabs are usually available or an Uber will usually pick you up within 5 min.
Of course like all people on this site we just ask our guests to remember that this is actually our home! Please don't pull a "David Lee Roth in the 80s" style party and mess shit up : ) Hang up wet towels and wash clothes, and if you have stinky trash/recycling please put it in the bins in the back of the building. No smoking inside the house ever. Smoke on the front steps only but bring something to collect your cigarette butts. We can discuss possible pets staying but we don't make it a policy that it's always ok. But please ask if you have pets so we can chat with you about it. In general we want people to love our city and enjoy their stay in our place!
NO SMOKING! NO SMOKING! NO SMOKING!
From Sep 1 - Nov 30, 2015 the minimum stay is 2 nights.
