Heralding the past of mid-century 40s and 50s travel home luxury, The Spartan Village has gathered six spacious, rare Spartan travel coaches from across the country to recreate a unique retro lodging experience. These units have been both restored and upgraded to include desired modern-day amenities to recreate the lavish comfort of the past. From polished aluminum exteriors to solid birch wood paneling interiors come enjoy a Spartan travel coach for a few nights or a group event.

The space
This Spartanette is my Americana she embraces everything wonderful about this country. You are immediately greeted by a vintage red click-clack couch draped with a hand-made crochet American Flag blanket to keep you warm on those cool mountain evenings. There is a matching chair tucked in the corner for reading, and warm birch wood cabinetry enveloping the entire space with books and games tucked away on the open shelves to occupy you on those quiet evenings or rainy days. There is an electric fireplace in a corner of the living room area to keep you warm or just for the ambiance. The decor is white and black checked rugs, bed coverlet, pillows, and towels with red, white, and blue dotted throughout. The living room opens to the kitchen area separated by a wooden divider that provides you benched seating for meals with original red table and counter tops with a dual farm sink. The kitchen comes fully equipped with everything you need for cooking to include an electric stove, refrigerator, and microwave, as well as a Keurig coffee maker. The bathroom is small but comes with a shower, sink, towels, etc. There is also extra bedding for your full-size bed embraced with two small side tables. In addition, to the nicely appointed interior, you will find your own personal covered sitting and dining area outside. There is a common firepit, grill, and sitting area. Make your reservations now on Airbnb. This is one of four Spartans available for rent at The Spartan Village. Rent one or all of them for your special events to include the clubhouse. The clubhouse has a Speakeasy vibe available at an additional cost for events. It is available to guest at no additional cost unless an event is scheduled.

Neighborhood highlights

THE SPARTAN VILLAGE provides a unique setting that will take vacationers back to a simpler time. With its unique location situated in the small rural community of Tellico Plains, Tennessee and the gateway to the beautiful Cherokee National Forest it attracts the attention of a wide variety of vacationers.

THE SPARTAN VILLAGE company will offer vacationers a look into the past and provide a unique lodging experience that will be different than the standard cabin offering. Each Spartan Trailer is unique and a different model dating from 1949 to 1961. The Spartan Village will not only offer unique lodging but the fascinating backstory of how the Spartan Aircraft Company founded in 1928 in Tulsa, Oklahoma was able to transition from making airplanes to making top of the line mobile homes/Camping Trailers. At the end of World War II the Spartan factory was beefed up due to wartime production. However, after the war the company decided to change direction, and use their expertise in building innovative airplanes to building high-end mobile homes to meet the housing shortage after the war. Spartan spared no expense on these trailers. They were manufactured to the highest quality and sleekest design employing the monocoque building technique used in airplane manufacturing and were considered to be the “Cadillac” of trailers. The trailers were built with a modern look incorporating many deco design elements. THE SPARTAN VILLAGE is made up of several distinctive models preserved as closely to their original state while updating the units to offer all the amenities of modern life.

THE SPARTAN VILLAGE is conveniently located about 60 miles from Knoxville, about 75 miles from Chattanooga, about 160 miles from Atlanta, and about 200 miles from Nashville, TN. Tellico Plains is also convenient to hospitals, shopping, events, education, and other amenities of city life. Tellico Plains is the Smoky Mountain version of "Mayberry" and was chosen as one of the top ten most beautiful towns in Tennessee. In addition, Tellico Plains was designated a “Trail Town" in 2014 by the Southeastern Foot Trails Coalition (SEFTC) and the Benton MacKaye Trail Association (BMTA) as an exceptional location to visit for these activities. The SEFTC is a coalition of almost all the trail clubs within the Southeastern United States. The BMTA oversees the Benton MacKaye Trail, a 300-mile long-distance trail, which courses through the mountains just east of Tellico Plains and Coker Creek.

THE SPARTAN VILLAGE is nestled near the beautiful Cherokee National Forest where a vacationer has limitless vacationing options to please their palette such as kayaking on the Tellico River, hiking any one of the many hiking trails, hike the Cherohala Skyway or hike or bike ride around Indian Boundary Lake, and/or shop arts and crafts in Tellico Plains or Coker Creek Tellico. Touring the Cherohala Skyway and US 129 (the Dragon Tail) are popular rides for motorcycles, bicycles, and automobile clubs, due to the scenic beauty of these mountain roads. In addition, THE SPARTAN VILLAGE is just a few hours day trip to Dollywood, Gatlinburg, Townsend, and Cades Cove.

Currently I am retired from DOE and the Army. I currently work as a health and wellness coach (PsyD) and hypnotherapist, and Real Estate agent. I enjoy my three furry babies (miniature schnauzers) names Lacy, Emma, and Tucker. You may see them around the park. I also have 15 rabbits (yes, I know!) I enjoy boating, golfing, hiking, and biking. I have traveled extensively in the military and know what it is like to come home to a comfortable place.
