Situated in a quiet residential area 15-20 minute walk east of Glasgow city centre and Queen Street Station.
There are plenty of decent coffee shops/bakery/cafe's/restaurants - including Glasgow's newest micro brewery (over 300 beers to sample) all within walking distance.
Our home is a typical Victorian sandstone villa* with many original features and located within the Dennistoun conservation area. Two houses down is the Lady of Good Council Church, one of Glasgow's more famous modern churches built in 1966 designed by Gillespie Kidd & Coia Architects.
Glasgow is full of landmark buildings celebrating it's rich architectural heritage and has been described as " the great ecclesiastical city, the city of the unimaginably wealthy tobacco lords, merchant city, cotton city, industrial city and second city of the Empire."
Glasgow is Scotland's largest and liveliest city. As well as it's renown Victorian and other distinct architectural gems the city has many attractions to offer including some of the best shopping ,restaurants, parks, galleries and venues. There are plenty of film/comedy/art/music festivals throughout the year to keep the gig listings interesting.

Our house is occupied by family and friends with various schedules so can sometimes be very quiet or very busy. Main occupants are myself (architect) and my son (Jed, 7), my brother Toby - engineer) who has helped turn this house into a home over the last few years. Felix (works for Community Energy Scotland), Kim (musician/composer) and Maria (therapist).
Almost there with the renovating (but never quite with old houses) we enjoy sharing the plentiful space . All very laid back and peaceful with the occasional event, film screening or feast held.
All rooms have network points. Wireless broadband throughout the house. Underfloor heating in both bathrooms, wood burning stoves in hall and kitchen for winter warmth. Open fire in the old dining room (now lounge).
Private parking can be arranged prior to arrival, plenty of on street free parking.
I have two rooms available if the dates you are looking for aren't available please check Room Two.
* Please be aware that Victorians weren't very good at insulating, and whilst we have tried our best to seal every draft and insulate were we can the house will possibly be very cold to those used to either warmer climates or the benefits of insulated cavities. The primary heat source downstairs is two wood burning stoves, if you are up before I am to light them it can be quite cold indeed. Slippers and thermals recommended in the winter months (bedrooms have great big cast iron radiators so they are nice and warm)
We had such a lovely time staying at Verity's home. It was a really beautiful space and our room was very big with a great ensuite bathroom. Everybody who lived in the house was so friendly! There was bread, and delicious spreads out every morning. I would definitely recommend staying here!
We had a great stay at no. 4, the household were very friendly and welcoming. The bedroom was grand, sunlit and comfy, a lovely spot to read in during the afternoon. Our bathroom was luxurious. Downstairs we were greeted by the glowing logs in the woodburning stove, good coffee, homemade jam and proper bread from the local bakery. Blue skies, a snowy view over Glasgow and fine Scottish company, who could ask for more?
I sent a very last minute request to Verity and she answered positively very quickly. The room and the house were as described and commented on this website: very atypical Victorian house, very warm, very well furnished and very clean. It felt like sleeping on a movie set due to the unique style of the house.
I definitely recommend anybody looking for accommodation in Glasgow to stay at Verity's .
This was my first use of airbnb. If all are as successful as this stay then I will be repeating the experience. The house was very easy it get to; just a pleasant 20-25 walk from the city centre - 1 left turn and 1 hill.
The house itself is in a quiet neighbourhood. The room was large, clean and warm; and the bed was very comfortable. As you'll have seen fronted photos, the shower is a walk-thru affair. Very cool.
I kept to my own schedule and other than check in and out I rarely saw or heard anyone else in the house (including other airbnb-ers). You get a house key on check-in and you're pretty much free to come and go. Which is exactly what I did.
Great first experience of airbnb and if I make it back to Glasgow again, I will be looking up this address.
We loved staying in this amazing house and highly recommend it to anyone who is looking for an accommodation in Glasgow. We would definitely stay there again!!!
Our stay in Glasgow was great. The room we stayed in was beautiful, clean, spacious and cozy; we had a lovely view from our window and the bed was really comfortable. Verity gave us clear directions for how to get to the house, and we had almost no trouble finding it when we arrived at the nearest train station. The house is in a nice neighborhood and is easily accessible by train, foot, or taxi. Maria, one of the other people living there, greeted us when we arrived and showed us around the house. We had access to two bathrooms - one large full bathroom with a tub and shower (one of the coolest bathrooms I've ever seen) and a smaller half bath right next to it (they provide towels for your stay as well). We were given our own box in the refrigerator so we could keep our groceries there for the weekend. Verity also provides bread and a variety of spreads for guests to enjoy at all times of the day. She and the others cooked a lot while we were there, and whenever we came back from our days out they kindly offered us some of their food. The hosts were kind and welcoming and invited us to join their plans, whether it was a party or a movie screening in the living room. Verity and everyone else in the house were excellent hosts, and the house itself was fantastic. I would highly recommend staying here.
