The space

My apartment is 7 blocks to the very famous Venice Beach. It has 2 bedrooms, one bathroom, living room, kitchen, front patio in the courtyard and secured entry. There are four units in the building. My neighbors are extremely nice and work during the days. The place gets good light and is usually cool during the summer and has plenty of windows keeping the place airy and beachy breeze fresh.
There is parking in back for one car in an open space without a gate. We have had very few problems here with cars being parked out back.
I have wireless internet and roku, which streams pandora, netflix and TED at this time. There is also BluRay for any movies you might have that are NTSC.
Both bedrooms have queen size beds and desks. One is my main room and is a little bigger than the other.
Licorice, my one year little black cat is an outdoor-indoor cat who is very independent and active. She comes in for food, a few cuddles and then is usually back out climbing trees. She either will be here during your stay with kitty sitters coming by to feed her, or she will be dropped off at her friend's where she will stay during your stay here. We can discuss.
Venice is a busy place with many things to do. There are bike enthusiasts, surfers, gallery hoppers, shoppers, tourists from around the world, architects, techies, artists, musicians, yogis, filmmakers, foodies, etc. On Rose, the street I live on, there are restaurants dotting the Avenue. A fresh Mexican Fusion style cuisine, a Vegan Veggie Cafe, a tapas wine bar with excellent paninis, an Ale House on the beach for sunset beer, etc. Whole Foods is one block away for food essentials and if you feel like meeting some locals in their morning routine, hop across the street to Groundworks, our local fair trade coffee shop that has a consistent flow of interesting characters.
Abbot Kinney, the high end avenue, is 6 blocks up and three blocks in. There you will find shops and a variety of restaurants to choose from and certainly will see locals walking their dogs or dining out.
Main Street is perpendicular to Rose Avenue and is another option for shopping and dining out.
There are places to listen to live music nearby and always seem to draw a fun young crowd.
I have one bike here and there is a bike rental place at the end of Rose Avenue on the beach.
The weather is great for staying local and bus lines come every ten to fifteen minutes which go around town.
Thank you!

Respectful of me, property, and us who live here. My landlords realize I am hosting people here, and we, you the guest and me the host, have built a solid airbnb reputation. Let's keep it that way. I can be helpful at times, but please no outrageous commands or expectations. This is not a hotel and I am only one person. Please do your best to arrive with a non-competitive win-win attitude. This is a shared situation, so both our comfort is important but I do have various responsibilities to attend to and I love to find the balance between saying hello, having a chat, and also being busy. No random guests unless cleared by me. Return keys. This is my private space, my hours tend to vary day-to-day with a busy schedule to work from home and out. Please let me know if you have any questions or concerns with the space and I will attend to them as soon as possible. Please be respectful of using towels and try to reuse towels until it is necessary to change. Please keep my phone number with you in case I am not home and you need to contact me- txtng, calling or sending an e-mail always works. If you are a smoker, please smoke outside in back outside the back gate. If you do not want Licorice in your room, please close your door. Please do not leave the heater or fan on when you leave your room. Please do not leave water running. Please understand that this community has both affluent and poor people who are all trying to get along. It is a mixed racial community and it is foreign and domestic alike. There are gay and straight and young and old. Please be open minded and understand where you are staying. Local, national and international people are most welcome.
Enjoy yourself, relax, be yourself, feel at home, and thank you! It is a pleasure to have you here.

Sofia's place is located in the heart of Venice on very hip Rose Ave. close to coffeeshops, boutiques and restaurants. Easily walkable to the beach and Abbot Kinney (both about 15 min walk). The unit is a very comfortable 2 bedroom with a great common living room to socialize and a kitchen to prepare food. It's in a securely gated set of apartment units with a nice common outside area. Sofia was very friendly and helpful in getting us checked in. No major issues! Look forward to staying there again!

This was our first airbnb experience so we don't have anything to compare this place to and was vastly different from our experiences with (SENSITIVE CONTENTS HIDDEN). Perhaps our expectations were a bit off. As a person we found Sofia to be responsive, kind, and helpful, but the place felt like a friends apartment and not a rental. The lack of dining room table (was being used for cat food), no closet space in the master, broken window pane in the bathroom and an open mail slot with no closure, were a bit off-putting. Also, the original post had off street parking listed, but when we arrived, and looked over the house manual, we found this not to be the case. Sofia left her car in the parking space which left us the choices of 2 hour street parking (very inconvenient) or park a block away (hard with kids and groceries). Finally, the upstairs neighbors kids woke up on the early side every day and seemed to like to jump right over our heads while in bed. On the bright side, the energy of the place is great, good light, convenient location and nice host.

My family and I had a wonderful time in Venice! I felt like I was home, The beach pad is exactly how you would describe it. One of the nicest things is u don't have to buy condiments and the little things, there there even body soap, Organic too!. It's all there so you can stroll up to whole foods and buy a loaf of bread. come back sit outside and enjoy! We had 6 people in this little place and It was great. Lot's of hot water, nice neighbors awesome cat "Licorice" comes with the house a little skittish at first but playful and funny. Oh I'm sorry the best thing is the JU JU... Sophia's place is full of thank you's for letting us stay at your home. Gifts, books, incense and love everywhere! I now want to rent out my house to show the same warmth that I felt in Venice and at Sophia's Place. Thank You!

What a fantastic experience staying at Sofia's apartment!! Although I never met Sofia in person, we communicated via (SENSITIVE CONTENTS HIDDEN) which was perfect. She answered any q's I had very quickly and she let me extend my stay and she made sure airbnb didn't charge me twice. The apartment is in a great location close to everything in Venice and the beach!! I had such an amazing experience :) Thank you Sofia!!!

Four of us rented Sofia's place and were not left disappointed! She was a great host who sorted any problems we had (there weren't many) The location is great - we were a walk away from the beach and could drive to Hollywood and other local areas with ease. We never met Sofia but she was always very friendly when we communicated with her. We would definitely stay here again if were to come back to LA
