This was the perfect spot for our (website hidden) Michel experience. We loved staying in the quintessential French country home with a peak-boo-view from our 2nd story window.
My daughter and I loved and appreciated the wonderfully warm reception by Jacky whom we really enjoyed talking to and who gave us great tips for our visit. We got a kick out of Jacky helping herd the sheep down the lane past our car.
Location is fantastic for visiting Mont St Michel as it is a 5 minute drive to the parking lot.
Jacqueline was very welcoming and made a wonderful recommendation for dinner. The room and bath were large and attractive and very clean and charming.
I felt very welcome and at home. I was only there one night, but would certainly like to stay there again, if I returned.
Our stay in Mont St Michel was a great experience. Jacqui greeted us at the gate in front of the property and assisted us with our luggage up the stairs to our room (a great plus as my back had been bothering me recently). As we arrived late in the day had had spent much of that day traveling and visiting the Mont, we did not get a chance to interact with Jacqui or Jim much beyond getting the lay of the land. Jacqui had a great sense of humor and made us feel most welcome. The location was ideal with views of the Mont from our bedroom window and the sounds of the sheep coming in from the pasture at night.
The listing description was very accurate and the some. We arrived to a warm greeting and a cup of tea after a long day sight seeing. The room was great and we could indeed see the Mont from our window. Jackie gave us some good advice about what to do when we went to Mont St Michel which was only a few minutes drive away. We also shared in the arrival of the sheep from the salt meadows with Jackie and Jim stopping the traffic for the sheep to cross the main road. Two lambs were born that day and the farmer carried them home. Great sight. Breakfast was a very good and different each of the three days we were there. We also did our washing which was a real bonus. I had an insect bite which I was having a reaction to and Jackie provided the solution to that. We had a wonderful stay - we felt like we were at home and were reluctant to move on. I highly recommend this place to stay.
Staying with Jacqueline was just what we needed. We had such a quiet and restful night in the country that it made us wish we had booked a longer break! The hostess is incredibly attentive and enjoys hosting travellers from across the globe (just read the guestbook). This is an ideal hotel-alternative and evening bolthole before visiting Mont St. Michel and the rest of the countryside.
Maison du Montitier was a delightful stay for our family. Superb location to the Normandy coast and particularly Mont St Michel. Views to it across the bay and close enough to walk if your keen to get active. The home is very comfortably set out and Jacqueline has done a wonderful job with the barn conversion to create a place with great character and facilities. Jacquie was a warm and enthusiastic host who went out of her way to make sure we were treated well and relaxed. The breakfast offered a good range of delicious choices and we accepted her offer to prepare a fresh, light dinner on our arrival evening which was delicious and an excellent option to settle in without complications.
Jacqueline and her apartment far exceeded my expectations. My wife and I were traveling by car, unsure of our exact arrival. Jacqueline was accommodating to our constantly changing arrival time and once we arrived, she was extremely welcoming. She gave us great tips, was friendly, and even provided a nice breakfast the next morning. We also were able to see the morning running of the sheep, which was a hoot! Distance to Mont St Michel was very close. Jacqueline and her place were, to us, felt like family on a different continent.

About the Host, Jacqueline
We originally bought the house as a holliday home, but the more we came the more we fell in love with the place, so decided to retire early and enjoy a simpler way of life. on paper that sounds great , but in reality, we soon became board, after a lady came to the door for help, in finding some where to stay, it struck me that maby i coud offer bed and breakfast stays? id worked with people all my life, and run my own hair and beauty buisness for 21 years, and thats how it started, and i absolutly love it, meeting people from all over the world, all walks of life, and would not change a thing.
