Interaction with Guests
My guests can expect to have as much communication with me as possible, however I am often not present during check in and check out times due to schedule conflicts. If the guests prefer to have me present I can make that happen most times, and I am ALWAYS available by phone, email, or text message as well. I aim to provide a pleasant experience for guests, and to allow them their privacy. Aside from checking in once in a while during longer stays, my goal is allow my guests their privacy and to enjoy their stay and I am just a phone call or email away if anything is needed or they have questions!
The Armdale area of Halifax is a wonderful spot to be in! We are centrally located within the city of Halifax, making it an easy commute to other areas in and out of the city. In the summer time it is a beautiful walk to Chocolate Lake, and also a quick walk to the Rails to Trails walking and biking path.
Public transit is very accessible at my house, and I provide a bus schedule at the house for guests to refer to. There are two bus stops, one directly across the street and one a short block away. In addition, taxi cabs are always available in the area.
No smoking inside please!
This is a Residental area, so please no loud parties!
Nova Scotia is a leader in recycling and waste collection, which means we have strict rules on sorting waste... I have an organics waste bin which I appreciate guests using as well!
The barbeque on the deck is free for you to use, just please make sure that the propane is turned off once you are done cooking!
Communications with Catherine were through email which was fine. We arrived to find the perfect retreat for our stay in Halifax. The quiet Armdale neighborhood was a perfect location for visiting the city and area attractions - about 15 minutes from the Halifax waterfront and easy access to the highways for visting the countryside. The house was very comfortable and nicely decorated. Catherine had a basket full of maps and brochures for area restaurants and things to do and see. Upon arrival we walked to the local Armdale Pizza for a lesson on local dishes - poutine and donair. The kitchen was well stocked with dishes, pots and basic food staples. God bless the Kuerig! The fridge also had jams and condiments and sauces for our use. The house was bigger than we expected with two bedrooms, a living room, dining room kitchen and bathroom. The bathroom had plenty of soaps, lotions and hair products to try. We loved coming home to our Urban Cottage evry day!
This Urban Cottage in Halifax was just what we expected and we were so grateful to have a home away from home for this leg of our east coast adventure. The location was central to everything and just the right size for our family of three. The host was so easy to communicate with and we were made to feel very welcome before and upon our arrival. I especially loved the extras in the home that we didn't have to go out and buy. Thank you so much for a wonderful first time AirBnB experience, we will definitely be using this service in the future. Cheers!
My parents and I had an extremely pleasant few days at Catherine's place in Halifax and I would highly recommend to all. The house was spacious and clean and the location was also very good both for exploring halifax itself and for also getting on the coastal road to discover nova scotia's Atlantic Coast. We didn't meet Catherine however she was regularly in touch before our arrival.
We had a good time in Halifax and in Catherine's flat. The lock system was practical and worked well. The apartment was as described. There were no shops close by, so a car or use of public transportation is needed - we had a car so not a major issue really. However, there were some expired(old) foods and drinks in the fridge that we had to clean. Coffee maker was useful. We enjoyed our stay. This is good and economical way to experience Halifax and Nova Scotia in general.
We really enjoyed our stay here. I was surprised to see so many extras supplied in the kitchen. They were very much appreciated, especially the coffee and lemon loaf. The house was clean with more than enough room for us. The area was close to everywhere that we wanted to visit. We had a great time in Halifax. Oh...also want to mention that the flower in the vase made me smile when we entered through the door.
We felt very home at Catherine's apartment .
It was clean, lovely decorated and well equipped .
Located only 10 minutes by car from the city center it was close enough to everything and far away to be quiet .
We really enjoyed our time at Catherine's apartment und recommend it to everyone who wants to stay in Halifax !
Just take care walking on the veranda when it is wet,it becomes very slippery !
