Check out all my listings! :-) Please note, I don't accept reservations more than 3 months in advance...
The Townhouse is a beautiful & light-filled duplex apartment in a landmarked rowhouse in Brooklyn's booming Greenpoint Historic District, on the riverfront just north of bustling Williamsburg. Walk to the Bedford "L" subway stop, or just a few blocks from the Greenpoint "G" stop. East River Ferry service (with multiple stops in Brooklyn, Manhattan, and Queens) is ~5 blocks from the house, on the India Street waterfront. Plenty of restaurants, bars, boutiques, cafes, galleries, banks, gyms, etc all within blocks.
This home has been published in multiple design magazines and featured in fashion and film shoots.

Upper Floor: bedroom, master bathroom (6' clawfoot tub & 2 sinks) and office with lofted guest sleeping alcove

Very quiet tree-lined residential street. Full kitchen with gas stove, oven and full-size refrigerator, microwave and dishwasher. Television with satellite cable & DVR. This sunny home is furnished with a variety of antiques and modern accessories.
Bedroom has a Queen size bed, guest loft has a Double bed. Window air conditioning unit in the bedroom, ceiling fans throughout the house.

*Please note: this is a duplex apartment with an OPEN STAIRWELL and open guest loft; renter accepts the property as-is and acknowledges that it is likely not suited for small children or anyone requiring a handrail.
Also, I own an antique store and do design projects, so every now & then pieces of furniture get swapped out or moved around within the apartment. The pictures in the photo gallery are completely accurate for the space itself as well as an indication of my style, but individual items periodically change.
Everything at the house is pretty straight-forward. Please adhere to local recycling rules (paper is separated from the regular trash, and there's also a separate bin for plastic/glass/metal).
Check-in is at 2 pm and check-out at 11am but I try to be flexible depending on everyone's schedule; let's coordinate directly.
You are more than welcome to have your friends over and I certainly want you to make yourself at home and enjoy your stay, but please no big parties & no groups of total strangers :-) This is a historic neighborhood of rowhouses so please also be respectful of the neighbors, all of whom are very nice (close front door quietly rather than slamming, etc).
- Stay only on the decked area
- No more than 6 people on the roof
- Vacate roof by 10:30pm when the City noise ordinance goes into effect
- Remove your garbage
- Keep volume down in deference to neighbors
Have a wonderful visit!
We had a wonderful time staying at Maya's house. As soon as we got to her place we felt at home. It's a beautiful, calm and relaxing space. It's full of character, with many inventive details, nice objects and charming antiques.
We didn't have the chance to meet Maya but we communicated by text and everything worked out well. She provided us with lots of useful tips and reccomandations about the area. We tried some eateries she suggested and they were all excellent.
Greenpoint is a safe and welcoming neighborhood with a unique atmosphere, warmer and more authentic than busy Manhattan. Williamsburg is only a few blocks away and you can explore it on foot. The area has many bars, coffee shops, restaurants and nice vintage stores. Manhattan is easily accessible with a 20 min ride on the subway (the G line is very close to the house, while the L line can be reached with a pleasant 15 min walk).
If you feel like climbing a quite steep flight of stairs you'll reach a lovely roof terrace and you'll be rewarded with a gorgeous view of the Empire State building. We couldn't ask for more. Grazie Maya!
Bellissima vacanza, grazie.
Beautifully decorated apartment with everything you need. Even with the recent cold snap it was a warm and welcoming base to come back to. Maya was helpful with checking out late and making amendments to our booking. You can explore all of Greenpoint on foot and Manhattan is half an hour away on the subway, with Greenpoint station only a couple of blocks away. The apartment is exactly how it appears on AirBnB and Maya is a very reliable host...only good things to say about this place.
Maya wasn't able to meet us but she sent me detailed arrangements about the keys, and it all worked well. The apartment was very much as pictured, and was a really nice place to stay. Maya was responsive to text messages and we were able to sort out minor problems.
If there are more than two guests, the sleeping arrangements do require a bit of climbing - but we managed! Greenpoint is a really nice area, and we found good places to eat, buy bagels and that sort of thing. We did go in to Manhattan quite a bit - opera, jazz, galleries etc and while the journey was OK, Greenpoint is a little tricky journey wise.
Overall, we all enjoyed our holiday, and it was interesting to stay Brooklyn - some great restaurants and bars, and a bit more 'real' than Manhattan.
Maya was a great host! All of my communications with her were straightforward and clear. I knew how to get into the apartment and where to leave the keys on departure. She provided useful leaflets and timetables for the neighbourhood, which were very welcome. The apartment itself is homely, yet stylish and quirky, and you really will feel at home (from home). The location is ideal for exploring Green Point and North Williamsberg and it is very easy to get into Manhatten. Highly recommended! Thanks Maya.
We had an amazing stay at Maya's flat. It's so beautiful and really the prefect location. It's comfortable and it really brings the authentic Brooklyn experience. Maya herself was great, and really understanding when we had trouble with our phones and couldn't contact her.
Booking Maya's apartment was a very uncomplicated process despite working through multiple time zones.
The apartment and area are a true reflection of their description.
It is an incredibly quirky property. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay there.
