The space
“Dorothy's place is an absolute gem! It's up in the hills in a quiet neighborhood, but only a quick 5-7 minute drive from downtown and a 2 minute drive from a grocery store. The unit is spacious and was incredibly comfortable for us. The care and effort put into the space is super impressive. There is a queen sized bed, full size fridge and sink, a coffee maker with coffee/cream/sugar, tea, a microwave, and toaster oven. There's also a cute little sitting room. Further, the bathroom is a comfortable size with plenty of space for two. Dorothy has a board of recommendations for travelers, along with a map with pins to keep track of where her guests are from. Such sweet details! We were so sad to leave her lovely space. Hope to stay again in the future!” ...previous guest review
WE CLEAN COVID CLEAN, leaving the space fresh and inviting for each and every guest! We now have a GERM GUARDIAN air purifier helping to kill airborne viruses, bacteria and mold spores, amongst other things! I couldn’t be happier. We ventilate the space before, during, and after cleaning. We clean and disinfect all surfaces, paying special attention to frequently touched surfaces. We vacuum and mop the floors. Shower mats are washed between guests. We have always taken pride in the way that we clean and have further enhanced such cleaning because we want you to feel safe to relax and enjoy your stay with us!
Lots of space on this double lot on our small mountain leaves you feeling away from it all even though you're merely minutes from downtown. We are super convenient to grocery stores and tons of restaurants. Very open layout with beautiful archways and a unique rock wall add both charm and class. Super clean and equipped with a shared laundry room and great big bathroom. The kitchenette has everything you could need to feel at home when you're away from home. It is equipped with a full size refrigerator, single burner hot plate, a large toaster oven, microwave and a coffee maker. Hulu streaming is available and will be logged in via Roku and mounted flat screen TV. You are welcome to choose from a variety of other streaming channels to log in with your own personal account. Just don’t forget to log out! What else could you need?! :) This is a very spacious 500 square foot tastefully decorated and well equipped lower level space. Plenty of privacy with a separate entrance and a screen door allows guests to enjoy the fresh air and natural light. Outside space qwith porch swing and lounge seating for guests to lounge the day away. Beautiful fire pit area also available for guest use. Suitable for two adults with a couch available for a child; although the space is not child proof and I don't have separate sleeping arrangements other than the couch :)
This space is one of two rentals on the lower level of my home. Each rental has a private entrance on either side of the house and my entrance is at the front of the house so privacy coming and going is not an issue. If this space does not fulfill your needs please check out my other Airbnb listing :)
Also, I will send instructions when it gets close to your reservation. Please read them carefully to be sure you choose the correct apartment upon arrival.

A new lounge recently opened at the bottom of our little mountain! It has a super cool vibe with a good atmosphere, small bites, and a food truck all within a 15 minute walk from our home.
The house is just a 2 minute WALK to historic Helens Bridge!!
“The city drops away quickly as you drive up Beaucatcher Mountain from downtown Asheville. College Street—a main thoroughfare through the heart of downtown Asheville, forming one side of Pack Square next to the haunted Art Deco imminence of Asheville City Hall—suddenly becomes a mountain road as it dizzily traverses the side of the mountain. The road enters a gap in the mountain spanned by a lonely, primeval bridge. You have arrived at Helen’s Bridge.”

The house is set on a wooded mountainside with great scenic views. Downtown Asheville's restaurants, cafes, breweries, and shops are a short drive away. Go for a hike in a nearby park or take a short drive to the Biltmore Mansion and Gardens.

*something to note* During the spring and summer seasons mostly, we sometimes have black bears in the area. They come to the neighborhood mostly to search through trash cans and to eat the delicious wild greens from the mountain :) I have lived here for over 8 years now and have never had or heard of anyone having issues with them. They keep to themselves but I thought it relevant to mention.
