The Space

Beautiful, serene private room with spacious bathroom - the most comfortable queen bed ever - quiet with great woods views through multiple windows.

A adjacent living area (216 sf) is included as a part of the suite - it is separated from our family living area by two glass doors, so that area is not completely private. It is accessible and available to guests for their sole use, though.

Gorgeous neighborhood, lovely woods house, close to Lancaster County attractions and only 4.5 mi. to Intercourse, 4 miles to New Holland, 25 minutes to downtown Lancaster. Amish area, great for walking, running, or biking. Wireless internet, a friendly host family, and a quiet and peaceful place to stay -

Direct access to deck and hot tub off the living room.

Guest Access

Guests have access to their three room suite, the connected deck, the hot tub, the grounds, and our home for entrance and egress. Also, breakfast is served in our kitchen and guests are welcome to enjoy breakfast in our dining room or in private in the suite at a dining table there.

Interaction with Guests

We enjoy the people we meet through Air bnb, and are fully available as a resource for local things to do, places to go, and conversation. We are also sensitive that some guests prefer privacy, and we respect that as well. We like to get a feel for what our guests want, be available to them, and provide a comfortablem personal experience for each person who stays with us.

The Neighborhood

We love that we live in a quiet peaceful 5 acres in the woods, and yet also in the midst of a cul de sac street with great neighbors. A walk down our lane leads to wonderful walking/running/biking roads with lovely Amish farms, schools, and shops and rural lifestyles. A great way to get a asense of how our many plain neighbors live, work and play.

Getting around

One public bus runs up Route 340 from Lancaster City - our hours is about two miles from the nearest bus stop. Biking and walking are great, and of course there are many scenic roads to drive. lWe are located 50 mites from the Harrisburg Airport, and 1.5 hours fro the Philadelphia airport,

Other Things to Note

We do have a large German Shepherd with a dreadfully loud bark, who is actually a sweetheart once he meets you. He does not have access to your suite, as do none of our three great cats - Quentin, Cassie, and Sherlock.

  • Betsy and Thomas were the perfect hosts. They were welcoming and accommodating. The breakfast spread was simply delicious and we had a great time hanging out in their hammock. The location is ideally set in Amish country, but far enough from the touristy parts were we still felt the genuine feel of nature. However, we were close enough that we could easily venture to Intercourse for the Amish markets and restaurants. I would definitely recommend them.

  • Great alternative to a B&B in the area! Betsy and Thomas are gracious hosts who have a central location in Amish Country. Everything you can possibly want is available (including a wonderful, secluded hot tub), and we had a relaxing getaway weekend.

  • It was a wonderful weekend getaway for us. The entire process was smooth, hassle-free and personal. There were very clear directions to the property that Betsy had provided and although she wasn't available, Thomas made us feel at home and very welcomed right from our very first step into their property. The property is nothing short of beautiful, the exterior and the interior and their pets. I should definitely mention the hot tub which was well maintained and perfect for the spring weather couple that with a bottle of wine and star gazing it just made the perfect weekend for us. The beautiful decorations to the piano, to paintings that adorn the entire house, it was magnificent. Thomas gave us directions to nearby eateries in downtown Lancaster and also guided us to the beautiful town of Intercourse, PA. The breakfast spread was amazing and filled us up for our 4 hour walk at Longwood Gardens which wasn't quite far from here. I would definitely visit back and recommend their place to all my friends. Thanks for hosting us Thomas and Betsy!

  • Had a great stay. Felt very much at home and not at all constrained in making plans about the town as we felt free to come and go at will.

  • Betsy was a fabulous host, more than we could have ever hoped for. House has tons of private space for guests including a large living room. Hot tub is amazing also. Great personal tips on local restaurants and tractions in Amish country too, and very tasty breakfast food. Great communication also over email. We had a family emergency and Betsy was very quick and generous to accommodate our change. Thank you!!!

  • Betsy and her family were very accommodating to my wife and I during our visit to the area! We were welcomed in and our suite was perfectly laid out, exceptionally clean, and very comfortable with the quiet atmosphere we were hoping for. They were eager to help with whatever questions I had about the area (places to eat, things to do, etc...) and laid out a morning spread of wonderful delights and a great cup o' Joe before our departure.

  • We didn't get to meet Betsy and Thomas, but they still managed to make our stay terrific. Their location is quiet and idyllic, yet central to the attractions in the Lancaster area – the perfect retreat.

The bedroom has exactly what helps me to sleep at night: a very comfortable bed and complete silence and darkness at night. Their hot tub is directly outside of the guest bedroom/living room area on the deck, with a view of the woods. It’s easy to operate. I found out that they have a piano, so I packed some sheet music and had a wonderful time playing. In the morning, it was a treat to find breakfast with locally sourced ingredients laid out for us.

We would gladly stay here again if life brings us through Lancaster in the future.

Thanks for a great experience, Betsy and Thomas!

  • Great place & great hosts. The suite is cute and private. The area is picturesque and Betsy and Thomas absolutely super engaging as conversations partners. My husband and I visited Amish country to run on the the half-marathons there. Betsy was very accommodating with regards to check-in, check out and her husband (Thomas) even prepared a breakfast for me at 6am - before the race. We will be back!

  • It was a really beautiful place to stay. The host Betsy and her family were welcoming and gave us local information regarding places to eat and the local community. It was an unexpected delight and we would be happy to stay again.
