Camp out in an urban artist space that feels like a cottage in the woods. The gas stove is on and keeping my urban cottage toasty! Located in the Pilsen neighborhood, at the Heart of Chicago.
Urban artist space that feels like a cottage in the woods. The gas stove is on and keeping my urban cottage toasty! Located in the Pilsen neighborhood, at the Heart of Chicago, Illinois, in the center of a thriving artists' scene. One block from Museum, Art Galleries, CTA Pink Line and bus lines to take you anywhere in the city.
My favorite part is the forested view of large trees in the back yard which create an illusion of being in a tree house or camp lodge in the heart of the city.
1 small bedroom with leather convertible sofa bed.
Queen size futon in the living room.
Full Kitchen with 1/2 size stove and "French size" refrigerator, and antique gas stove heater.
Counter top dining with stools. I run an independent apothecary business, and LOVE to cook, so the kitchen may appear a bit like a wizard's lab.
Aaron's place is cute and comfortable, in a pleasant neighborhood with simple transit to the Loop and elsewhere. Aaron was easy to get in touch with, helpful and friendly but totally unintrusive. Everything about the apartment and the logistics was set up for maximum ease and convenience. An excellent Airbnb experience and I really recommend him!
My partner and I had a great time staying at Aaron's place! It was very clean, inviting, and if we'd had more time in Chicago we might have taken more advantage of the movie projector and screen, and had a night in. He has lots of DVDs, and a record player which was a nice feature!
The neighbourhood, Pilsen, was very cool, although I don't know if I would be 100% comfortable walking around late at night solo, but maybe that's just because I'm not familiar enough with it. There was some great street art, impressive vintage stores and it was just generally an interesting place to be. Aaron was a nice guy who knew the neighbourhood well and recommended a restaurant where we ate our first meal, and we really enjoyed it! (The restaurant was named Pilzen I believe?)
The only complaint we had was that the bed was not the most comfortable. It was quite soft, and not what I'm used to. That said, we would certainly stay here again and recommend it as a great deal!
Aaron's apartment was awesome! Very quiet, clean and funky. He has a great collection of music, movies, books, and cooking accessories. He was very accommodating with check-in/check-out. We would love to stay at his place again given the opportunity!
Aaron's flat was perfect for us, out of the main town and in a really great area and community. The pink line was a 5 minute walk away and bus stops were close too. Aaron arranged for us to leave our bags before check in as we had an early flight in. A good place to get back to after days out .
Nothing to say about Aaron. He's a kind guy and the apartment is really nice. But the futon bad was terrible and unconfortable, last, I would suggest to Aaron, next time he want to do some homeworks or replace fornitures in his home, he should choose another moment to do it. When apartment is rent is not a good idea, for respect to guest, to replace fridge or kitchen.
Everything worked out really well. Aaron was super-helpful. The place is a couple blocks from the pink line subway which will take you to the loop in 3-4 stops.
Good value for money.
Great stay at Aaron's!.He was very kind, gave us a lot of hints about the neighbourhood and his place was very nice and close to the pink line, which conects to the loop.
Don't miss bakery Nuevo Leon,in 18th street,it:s superb! Safe and nice area.I'll stay again if I ever have the chance to go back to Chicago.
I had a great time staying at Aaron's place and exploring Pilsen, which is an awesome neighborhood with tons of great Mexican restaurants, bakeries and shops. It was only a couple minutes away from the Pink line stop which made it easy to get to everywhere in the city. Aaron also went out of his way to make special accommodations for my early arrival. I highly recommend staying here!
This is a very comfortable apartment in great location. Aaron is extremely nice and was more than willing to let me know where to find things like restaurants, public transportation, etc. The Pink Line train has a stop about a block and one half away, so it is really easy to get to the Loop and Central Chicago. Great value, great place, great host!
Aaron was a fabulous host and the apartment was lovely. A friend and I stayed here during a long weekend in Chicago – a 5 minute walk to public transportation, the apartment was cute, comfortable, and very clean. Exactly what we needed for our weekend away. Aaron had a mind-boggilingly awesome collection of movies, records and books, as well as an A/V set up that made my geeky heart happy. He provided us with great tips, a map of the area, etc. The neighborhood has a great selection of Hispanic restaurants and grocery stores and super amazing street art. Delighted to have stayed in Pilsen for my trip, more delighted I stayed in Aaron's apartment. Thank you!
