The Space

Boutique style craftsman near all the best bars and restaurants in East Austin. Just a few blocks away from the East 11th and East 6th districts. Very near downtown - a short walk or incredibly short cab ride away. One of the best possible locations in Austin - close to the airport, in the middle of SXSW festivities, a short walk to the UT football and baseball stadiums, and just a stone's throw from cafes and nightlife.

Three well-appointed bedrooms feature luxury linens, down comforters, plush bath robes, armchairs, floor length mirrors, and vanity areas.
Each bedroom can sleep two - an air mattress can be provided for guests over 6.

Spa-like bathroom with plenty of storage space and luxury towels.

Fully-equipped gourmet kitchen with high-end stainless appliances, gas stove, convection oven, Keurig coffee maker, French Press, and breakfast nook.

Open dining and living areas featuring Tiffany lighting, comfortable furniture, 42" lcd tv with cable, library, and wine nook.
HD cable with over 150 channels.
High speed wifi also included.

Cozy front porch with vintage rockers. Enormous backyard with large, lit deck including dining area, lounge area, biergarten, and outdoor grill.

Truly equipped with everything you might need for a short or long stay - NEW washer and dryer (February 2014), iron, hairdryer, outdoor grill, fully-equipped kitchen, and luxury linens. Air mattress, pack and play, and travel stroller available on request.

Five city bus stops are located within1-2 blocks.

Parking - there is a two-car driveway in front of the house. There is also plenty of accessible street parking.

We have a 2-night minimum, but will discuss 1 night stays with an added $25 cleaning fee.

The Neighborhood

We are closest to the East 11th district that starts just two blocks away at the corner of Rosewood and Angelina. Highlights in this neighborhood include East Side Pies, Rockstar Bagels, Nubian Queen Lola's Cajun Soul Food, Micklethwaite BBQ, Hillside Farmacy, Quickie Pickie, Longbranch Inn, Blue Dahlia, Sagra, and (the famous!) Franklin BBQ.
We are also a 15 minute walk to the East 6th area which features highlights such as Whisler's, Qui, Takoba, La V, East Side Show Room, Wonderland, LaBBQ, and Via 313 Pizza.

Getting around

Austin's bike share program, B-cycle, has two stations a few blocks away on 11th Street.
Bus stops surround the house on all sides, making public transport to many Austin areas very easy via Capital Metro.
Austin's cab/car service is now much better with the addition of uber and lyft.

  • Beautiful home and a great location. Crystal was gracious and always reachable when I'm in doubt. Truly blessed to have found such an amazing house and host...Really couldn't ask for more!

  • Crystal was very communicative in all respects. The home was neat and cute and the beds were very comfortable. I loved the neighborhood…it is an area of renovation, so lots of diversity. The church across the street started playing great, spiritual music early Sunday am and one could not be sad in an atmosphere like that…except sad to leave this cool spot!

  • We stayed here when we were in Austin for a wedding for the night before we could get into the hotel block, and boy do I wish we could have just stayed for the entire wedding weekend! Crystal's house was exactly as advertised and a fantastic deal! The fridge was stocked, everything was super clean and the guidebook/welcome packet she provided turned out to be super helpful. Communication was a breeze as she responded almost instantly to any inquiry. The beds were comfortable, and the shower was excellent! Further, she had cable and an iPod speaker which made getting ready for our rehearsal dinner super easy and fun! When we come back to Austin we will definitely stay here!

  • We had a great time in Austin. Very close to downtown, even closer to a bunch of great spots for food and drink, and 3 comfortable bedrooms to rest up in. HUGE back yard and welcome beers and wine are great bonuses too. Host is extremely responsive and accessible which makes a world of difference.

  • Crystal was so organized and quickly replied to my questions. Check-in was easy and the house was perfect and easily fit seven of us. Crystal was incredibly thoughtful and left us customized bar and restaurant recommendations for our girls weekend in Austin. Crystal is an excellent host and I recommend this listing to anyone looking for a great place to stay while visiting Austin.

  • Beautiful space, and back yard! We rented a car, which was nice and convenient for going to the conference center, although some of us walked the couple miles which worked too. Thanks for the pleasant stay!

  • Myself and six college friends decided to have a reunion in Austin. We had a wonderful time at Crystal's. Accommodations were perfect. No complaints at all!

  • My friends and I rolled I to Austin LATE looking for a place to stay. Crystal was Very flexible letting us stay in the last minute in her great place. We really enjoyed the back porch and the peddle can races back to the house from 6th street!

  • Crystal was great! She is extremely prompt and well organized, providing you your own personal guide to the area. As for the house, it is a well-kept and beautiful space. The backyard and deck are great for lounging around outside and the inside was the perfect size for our 6-person group. The house comes well stocked with everything you could possibly need to stay in and cook, provided the weather is bad, and its only about a 10-15 minute walk to the bike share and restaurants/bars.

Overall it was an amazing experience and I would recommend the space to anyone with a larger group staying in Austin. One word of caution, however, if you do not have a car you should enjoy walking/biking, because our experience with getting yellow cab to the area was horrendous!

  • Excellent stay for our group! Crystal pays great attention to detail. Huge backyard with great fire pit. Rooms were cute, as well. We had everything we needed. Had a blast in Austin! Enjoyed the food all over. Only complaint is that the cabs were awful and took forever for a pick-up. Austin really needs Uber! However, no complaints on Crystal's end. Thanks again!
