Nevada City, Guest Room "cottage"

Apartment - Private room · Murchie Mine Rd, Nevada City, CA 95959, United States

The Space

Hello,
I would like to offer a cute, pleasant, light filled, (detached from the main house) guest room with private bathroom including a shower. It isn't large, it is cozy; big enough for one comfortable twin bed, a table and chair, book shelving and a closet . It is located about 60 ft. from my residence and naturally you would be welcome to share the kitchen and all common areas in the main house. Bring your laptop, I have a wireless router!
My house is located approximately 1.7 miles outside downtown Nevada City in the forest. Enjoy the fresh scent of the pines and the town's Gold Rush Era charm every day.
Cheers, Chris

  • Chris was very kind and generous. If you're looking for a quite place outside of Nevada City, this could be it. Beautiful woods....

  • Chris and Greg and great conversations with them made this visit so extraordinary. They are like the grounded aunt and uncle who take care of you while you're there and see you back off into the world with your heart warmed.

I came for a weekend seeking some refuge from the city and was absolutely charmed by a slower pace of life in Nevada City where people ask how you are and are actually interested. The log cabin is set on a 2 acre lot filled with trees; I stayed in the guesthouse because I needed solitude this trip, yet the main house was a quick stroll away should I wanted for tea or company.

Looking forward to being back when I have at least a week to fully ease into and relish a slower pace and routine.

  • Quiet, private, and so comfortable. I hope many get to try this Airbnb offering. This is, without a doubt, the best place to stay in the Nevada City, CA area. Here you enjoy the total beauty of Nevada County's lush, quiet countryside as well as the log cabin comforts of this special home. Chris is the best host ever! Greg is always there for you as well; so, as always, everything was great and I was totally taken care of, with smiles! I have stayed here 3 or 4 times over the past 2 years, and hope it will be part of my life forever. Thanks so much, my Airbnb friends.

  • What a great stay! Chris has a little Shangri-la in the forest. She made me feel comfort, warmth and welcome from the firs moment of my stay. The little cottage was nestled just across from the house and I will be returning here every year for the Sierra Storytelling Festival, if not before! So happy with my first airbnb experience.

  • I think it takes a special and warm kind of person to be a good host for strangers, and Chris is that kind of person. She made every effort to make sure I was comfortable for the two nights I spent in the guest cottage. Nevada City is a wonderful place and it was good to feel a little more connected to it rather than staying at a hotel.

  • The cottage is nestled on beautiful property adjacent to the main house. It is a wonderfully comfortable cozy room with very sweet energy. I slept so well! There is a desk where one can do work, a closet area for clothes, and a great bathroom w/shower. The main house is always open for use. Chris' home is warm and inviting. I spent several hours on the screened in porch, curled up on a couch, just enjoying the fresh air. The entire property is an oasis. Chris is a very loving spirit who welcomes travelers as if they are dear friends. The time I spent with her chatting about life were very special to me. This is another AirBnB experience that lifted my energy and left me with a smile in my heart.

  • I really enjoyed my stay with Chris and Greg in their gorgeous log home. They are some of the kindest people I have met in a long time, very present and open to meeting positive and interesting people from all walks of life. Staying in their upstairs guest room allowed me to deeply recharge after months of travel, and amidst looking for a new home. I was in need of deep rest and quiet time.
Chris and Greg are both very genuine and relaxed in their lives, as well as supportive, and this makes it possible to feel very at home in their space. The grounds are gorgeous and it is a very short drive to downtown Nevada City. I would highly recommend staying with them if you are looking for a quiet, very warm and cozy sanctuary while exploring Nevada City.
