Beautiful area

Guests love this home’s scenic location.
Satolah Creek Farm is a luxurious place with so many things to see and do; pet our sweet donkeys, Highland cows and Clydesdale, explore streams and trails or take a pottery lesson.

The expansive, wrap around balcony of the carriage house, complete with a large swing, gives you a beautiful view of the large pond populated with ducks, geese and fish.

So much nature and so close to town. Highlands, NC is 15 minutes away, with fine dining, grocery stores and shopping.

The space
Huge windows, high ceilings and whitewashed walls give the carriage house an open, peaceful feeling. The unique styling was created by the artist/owners of the property who made much of the furniture themselves or brought favorite pieces over from Germany.

The luxurious, open-concept living room-dining room-kitchen has a fireplace, collection of eclectic books and large screen TV. The perfect place to relax.

The master bedroom has an attached bath with double sinks, walk in closet and private entrance to the wrap around balcony.

A seven-foot-wide spiral staircase takes you to the huge, loft bedroom with a sitting area on one side and desk overlooking the pond on the other side.

The outside dining area on the balcony has a huge log table with Edison bulbs that twinkle over head.

Younger guests will enjoy the playhouse filled with toys and tree house.

Guest access
You'll have access to the entire farm, acres and acres of forest and pastures. Explore the trails, fish in the pond (catch and release), feed the geese and ducks and pet the donkeys and horse. They said to mention that they love to be brushed!

Please note that cats are not permitted and dogs are not allowed in the pasture where the donkeys and horses are. Dogs have chased them and the donkey will chase dogs.

We have three friendly dogs that have free range of the farm. They love to visit with guests.

Other things to note
If you let me know ahead of time we can arrange a lesson in pottery on the wheel or walking stick making. Select your favorite stick from the available collection. Then I'll teach you how to strip the bark and personalize it with wood burning, carving, feathers, beads, crystals, painting and writing. Then stain and wax your new masterpiece. It will be a memory for years to come. Lessons are $50 an hour.
