Our house is located in Shelburne, about 15 minutes from the heart of Burlington. It's secluded and has views of the Adirondack Mountains. It's a quiet place in a great location. We have a big yard and fields in front of our house looking onward to the mountains. There are amazing sunsets to see!
We have a dog who is very well behaved and loves to be pet. Her name is Titania.
The available bedroom has one queen mattress, allowing for two persons to sleep. We can accommodate more than 2 people with the addition of twin or queen air mattresses. Upwards of 5 people total have stayed at one time. Depending on the additional number of people, the nightly rate may change.
The bedroom is downstairs, and the most private. It has a private bathroom and living space well as a private entrance, if desired. Basic toiletries, hair dryer, towels and everything are provided. There is a private fridge/freezer to use too.
You may use the kitchen as long as you clean up and take care of any dishes.
We do have cable and TV, but we do not use it often.
We have inside and outside games. i.e. cards, board games, croquet, bocce ball, soccer, football, frisbee etc. There is plenty of space for these types of games. Sometimes a bonfire is appropriate outside in the field!
There are walking paths in front of the house through the fields, as well as through the woods behind our house. There's a pond close by, but it's not for swimming. Sometimes we have bikes available to go into the village for breakfast or the farmer's market, or where ever you'd like.
There is a bus stop near our house, but we also drive a lot, so if you need a ride and it's on the way, hop in!
We love to have fun, are adventurous, eat well, but are very busy, so if you stay, you might be on your own! None the less, it's a great place to stay for a bit. We love company and to share what we have.
Kyala, her brother and the entire family were so nice, accommodating, and just great. My mom and I really enjoyed our brief stay at their lovely house in Shelburne. Kyala was excellent at getting in touch with, communicating, and hosting. I would definitely recommend staying here.
Kyala is a great hostess! She was very friendly and helpful and even gave us a list of local restaurants to try. The rooms were clean and comfortable and the location was great! We would definitely stay again!
Our stay with Kyala really felt like visiting old friends. She and her family were so welcoming and gracious that sharing their company, as well as their home, was definitely the highlight of our trip! But if we had been sticklers for privacy, our accommodations were conducive to that as well. The house is beautiful, and the stunning mountain views made it difficult to leave. It is my pleasure to recommend this host so highly.
I had only booked for two nights at Kyala and her parents house but as soon as I arrived I knew I wanted to stay longer. The house and its surroundings are wonderfull and, being on my own, I felt very welcome. It was great being asked to join for dinner with the family and even join for a burger night on a farm close by, and at the same time having my own space. I could borrow the bike, get a lift to Burlington when I needed to and the dog is the sweetest company anyone can imagine. It's the perfect spot for running, hiking, biking or just sitting; enjoying the view and the good company.
Although I'm usually not like that, I felt a bit 'homesick' after leaving.
We traveled to Burlington for the USAT National Championships and were unable to find a hotel. A friend suggested this website and we were thrilled to find this home. Not only is the house beautiful and immaculate, the family was unbelievably friendly and interesting. We were able to enter the home without anyone home, after being greeted by a terrific dog, Tatiana! The property is lovely with great views. The selection of board games was superb for my boys and they did not miss a tv! The morning of the race Bill, (Kyala's Dad) not only had coffee ready, but offered to cook me breakfast!
The convenience to Burlington and local stores/restaurants was great. We would highly recommend this home to anyone! My younger son ran around with the dog most afternoons and was in love!
Great hosts, great house, a quiet and beautiful spot, lots of space for us, a family of four! We would definitely come here again. The boys loved to play with Titania, the dog.
