1800sf 3br/2.5ba. 2 500sf decks - one screened, one open. Large Master suite. Gas Grill, Stone Firepit, Hot Tub.

Good wifi, Verizon cell service, desks in two bedrooms, and a third desk in the loft area.

The space
This a custom home built by Phil Sears. The floor plan is awesome. Other than the stone fire pit, all the major amenities are accessible on the main floor. We recently took the property up a notch by completely rebuilding the back deck, enlarging the parking area, and freshening up the landscaping.

If you like waterfalls, hiking, and scenic drives this is about as good as it gets.

Other things to note
About the parking. The driveway is a little bit steep in spots. If you have a 'traction challenged' vehicle, we have markings to help you. During the winter months, all-wheel drive is highly recommended.

Dogs are not allowed on the second floor as the upstairs bedrooms have carpet. We provide a baby gate for the stairs. Also, we require that unattended dogs be crated.

Neighborhood highlights

Set on the south side of Grandfather Mountain on the western edge of a small unincorporated community called Gragg. The area is known for hiking, mountain and gravel biking, four-wheeling, and rich history. This is the quiet, undeveloped side of the mountain. You would never suspect the crowds taking photos on Linn Cove Viaduct during the summer and fall are so nearby.

One of the great things about this spot is there's 3500 feet of elevation change within the span of a few miles. That means there's an amazing variety of experiences available, and there's always going to be something fun to do.

Head south to Wilson creek for fishing and swimming, which is at approx 1500 feet elevation, or you can head up to the top of grandfather over 5000 feet above sea level and see the rolling green carpet of the Pisgah stretching out for miles.

Coffey General Store in Wilson creek is where you'll find the local historians who love to share their knowledge. Tell them you're staying near Cary's flat and ask about Bill Crump :-).
