I did not end up staying at this location. One week before I was due to arrive, Andres offered to switch me to another apartment because this apartment needed repairs.
The other apartment was listed on Airbnb but we did not formally switch it to that location through Airbnb, Andres asked his friend who ran the apartment to book us in. The apartment ran by his friend Ivan was in good condition. However, the whole check-in process was confusing as it was the called the Nativa Suites and was located within a residential block. Despite us informing Andres and Ivan of our time of arrival (and we did arrive on time), we were left waiting for 45-60mins in the lobby of the apartment block (without any idea what was going on before a lady who did not speak any English checked us in - this was after a long flight from Australia. It was all quite poor and quite confusing.
Despite that, the apartment listed below which we stayed at was in good condition and an easy walk into the Plaza DeArmas area and metro.
My husband, one-year-old and I spent a weekend in Santiago in December en route to Patagonia, and Andres' apartment in Bellas Artes was perfect for us. It is small and simple, but exactly as advertised, with a lovely city and mountain view, and a perfect location near parks, museums, and good restaurants (the Barrio Lastarria strip, packed with cafés and restaurants, is an easy 8 - 10 minute walk, and beautiful Cerro Santa Lucia park is even closer, right across the Alameda—there are also banks and grocery stores right down the street, and the Centro Artesanal Santa Lucia, just a couple of blocks away, is great for touristy purchases). Andres was responsive and helpful, as were the various doormen on duty during the time we spent there. Good temperature day and night, fast wifi, and a comfortable bed are some other pluses. The price/value ratio here is strong, and this is a great alternative to the nice but expensive hotels in the same area.
This apt. was set in a perfect location, especially for people looking to explore the Lastarria and Bellavista neighborhoods. Great restaurants and bars within a few blocks, while keeping the immediate area around the apt. nice and quiet to come home to. It was clean and accurate based on the images and description posted. Everything was comfortable and made a great hub for exploring Santiago. Also, the views from the apartment are quite impressive.
Finally, Andres was one of the best hosts to work with. His response times via email were so quick and he was very flexible with check-in and check-out, helping make our stay even more comfortable. I would not even think twice about staying at one of Andres' apts. again.
Andrés was an excellent host: he replied quickly, supported all our needs and the place is spacious, good infrastructure and wonderful view. Very close to Santa Lucia metro station. We definitely recommend. :-) Muchas gracias, Andrés!
Recado permanece o mesmo.. Espetáculo de apartamento!!
Tudo fantástico. Apartamento sensacional, vista espetacular pra Cordilheira.
The flat was clean and comfortable and had everything we required. The location is great, and Andres was very accommodating. Thank you!
The Apartment is in a really good location and very central to the main sights.
The Apartment itselfs ofers everything you need for a good citytrip.
I can recomend Andrés as a host! You can write mails and call as often you want and he answers quickly.
Really nice apartment and location, near a metro station, supermarkets, restaurants and Cierro Santa Lucía. The bed is great but the couch is uncomfortable for sleeping. I'd also suggest some kind of protection to be used for the gap under the front door, since it lets a lot of dust in from the corridor outside. In 3 days or so the floor was covered with dust. Anyway, we used some cloth to keep the dust outside. The pictures are reliable, it's really the apartment, only the bathroom is bigger in real life. :] Andrés was a careful and efficient host, so the apartment has my strongest recommendations.
I had a great time at Andrés place. It´s close to the ´metro´ ( santa Lucia station), 10min walk from the city centre and in a great neighborhood. There are several supermarkets, pharmacies, groceries stores close by. The apartament is pretty much the same of the photos, but we had a little problem with the couch ( Andrés said he would replace it as fast as possible) but nothing that bad. The apartment is a little bit cold as weel ( there is no heating system in the bedroom, just living room but there are many blankets). I didn´t met Andrés in person but he is a very good host, always sending emails checking in and helping whevener i needed, so i´ll definitely recommed the place and i´d stay again for sure. The concierge guy, Mauro, is a great person as well.
