We stayed three nights at Todds home. Todd is a really nice guy. We had a good time during our stay. He made sure, that we don't miss interesting events and for example organized a mountain bike trip with a friend of him and guided us through the city. The reservation was easy and Todd answered soon all of our questions. We enjoyed staying there!
Todd was very accommodating and made it easy for us to come in late our first night. We were shown around and made to feel at home. The location was perfect for our needs. It was really fun to be so close to the heart of Mill Valley and our night's sleep was totally quiet.
I stayed at Todd's for its vicinity to Sweetwater's, which was great. The place was as Todd described. Beautiful views, well stocked kitchen and bath, hot tub. Todd was nice and friendly. Matched the ad. Don't hesitate to go.
We had a great weekend at Todd's house in Mill Valley! We were in a wedding at the Outdoor Art Center and Todd's house was perfect - super close to downtown and convenient to all the places we needed to be. Todd knew all about the town and what to do, and made us feel very welcome in his home. Make sure to check out the hot tub in the backyard and his great views off the lovely back porch!
Todd was very welcoming and kind. When we arrived the door was open and he immediately showed us around. He told us to help ourselves to anything and that as long as we don't use anything up there was no need to replace anything. The house was cozy and the hot tub was very nice. Very close to restaurants and shops in downtown Mill Valley. Would definitely recommended to anyone needing to stay in the area.
Comfortable bed and great location near town. The room is actually a bedroom in the house, and the bathroom is shared. The hot tub would have been a cool option, but we were not really there long enough to enjoy it.
There were several mixups on our check-in that caused some annoyances, but we talked it out, and the host seems to genuinely care that his guests have a good time there and in the area.
please read all the other reviews of the listing to see the great things other guests have had to say about their experiences here and allow that Jennifer might have been having a series of snafu's.
No one else out of the many guests who have stayed has had the confusions/difficulties that Jennifer had, so I'd like to set the record straight here.
1) the listing description clearly says that the rental is for the Master Bedroom and that the bathroom is shared. perhaps Jennifer didn't read the listing? please read the listing and have others staying with you read the listing so everyone can be happy.
2) I go out of my way to make guests welcome and be helpful, but I cannot be held responsible for guests with unrealistic expectations that don't show up on time and in particular, guests that don't update me along the way that something has happened and they are running late. I thought it was very inconsiderate. I will be as understanding as possible, but my time is not free, and i do have work obligations (which Jennifer cause me to miss)
In this case, Jennifer showed up over 2 hours late after having requested an early 2pm check in time (her fiancé showed up ~1.25 hours late). She never took the time to let me know that she was running late until she was over an hour late. Because of the experience with her, I unfortunately have had to institute a late check in charge.
Jennifer had multiple things occur, they encountered traffic which delayed them, they couldn't use 1 of their 2 phones while it was providing driving directions (not sure why they couldn't have used the other phone), then when they thought they were in the right location an hour plus later than expected, they found out that their I-phone mapping program was giving them incorrect information, and so on and so on. I came to understand that they were in a rush, and that they were sorry for the confusions, lack of updating communication, and that she expected that her requested check in time was meant to be for her convenience only, not a mutually agreed upon meeting time.
i will be as understanding as possible if something unforeseen happens and a guest has made best efforts to keep me informed and make alternate plans, but i cannot wait around an undetermined length of time for check ins and i cannot issue refunds because of a guest's last minute change of plans. Please stay in a hotel if you (or others) consider yourself difficult to please.
Todd was very accommodating, his home is nestled in the redwoods off a little path. It was fully stocked with anything one can desire to make a meal from pancakes to air popped popcorn. He is very friendly and offered me a ride to get a head start on a hike about 5 miles away. He also gave great suggestions for hiking in the area and using the hot tub upon return.
It was nice to see deer and hummingbirds while sitting on the deck. Todd is very knowledgeable of the area and is happy to share all he knows. The hot tub was great especially before bed with a view of the stars. The king size bed was heavenly, I slept very well.
It was very nice to connect with nature and the mill valley market was only a 4 min walk although it closes at 730pm.
