This listing is for my private bedroom and is only available when I am not there myself. The bedroom is a room in a 3-room apartment in a newly built house. The bed is perfect for one but accommodates up to two people if needed. I can also provide comfortable mattresses for up to two additional people. Pillows, blankets and towels are also available if asked for in advance. The other room of the apartment is a large living room and the third room is another bedroom, which might sometimes be occupied by my flatmate.
During your stay, you can also use the main living room, which has WIFI internet, a huge window, a fireplace (wood for the fireplace can be found on the balcony), a gym corner, a library of coffee table books ((website hidden)) and a collection of boardgames ((website hidden)). There is a terrace in front of the living room with a patch of lawn right next to it. I can also give you the key so can come and go as you wish.
The bathroom has a washing machine, electric floor heating and a mini-sauna with a bathtub, a jacuzzy, a regular shower, a programmable massage shower and coloured LED lighting. In the kitchen the guests can use a roomy refrigerator with a freezer, a microwave oven, a toaster, a steamer, a water boiler and a ceramic stove with a programmable electric oven. Since the house is situated near the edge of a hill, the kitchen and its glass-walled balcony also offer a picturesque view of the city below.
A parking lot is available for your vehicle. Parking is free, access to the parking lot is protected by a gate with a keycode and the parking lot offers the best view in Tartu. If you wish, we can also make a separate arrangement for the use of my car, which you could use to tour the city or explore the countryside nearby. Same goes for my two bicycles, which is actually the preferred method of exploring Tartu if you want to go beyond just the centre.
The fenced and secure yard around the house is lit and although the house is situated almost in the middle of the city, it is away from noisy traffic and offers peace and quiet almost 24/7. The only sounds you will hear are the singing of birds and you it is even possible to meet squirrels and hedgehogs near the house.
All the important places in the centre of the town are just a 5-15 minute walking distance away from the house. The bus stop is 50 meters, pub Krooks 200 meters, the Tartu University main building 400 meters, pub Zavood 500 meters, the Town Hall square 800 meters and Emajõgi (the river) 900 meters away from the house. I'd be happy to show you the nightlife in Tartu, help you meet local people and can take you to almost any nightclub for free if you wish.
Please inquire about availability in advance!

It is the nice apartment. We have been there just one night and we slept good. It is Anton's own room so he can give it only when he won't be at home. Sofa is cozy and room is warm.
Here is some feedbacks about dirty bathroom. Yes it is not clean. And it is very cold there.
Needed place to stay in the last minute and Anton managed to act very quickly and organized everything to accomodate me. Super service and Anton himself was very friendly.
Hey, Anton is really nice, he wasn't at the place, but always kept a contact, gave explications about the place and even let us to sleep at his room. Sadly, the bathroom was very dirty... Two men in the flat! please, find some tidy friends :)
This was the second time that I have stayed at Anton's and was just as pleasurable as the first. Apartment is clean and modern, and is very conveniently located close to the city center. I'll stay there again my next time in Tartu.
The host is a relaxed and highly trustworthy young man! His appartment is GREAT, the price is GREAT as well. I hardly can imagine a private place which is more comfortable to stay than this place. Moreover it is very close to the university and the rooms a clean and very nice. I highly recommend Anton Klink as a host.
When doing the reservation, there were two possibilities, room or private room. We clearly specified that we wanted the private room, otherwise we would have looked for another place.
When we arrived what Anton showed us as our "room" was the living room. The description of the flat was not very accurate because it has two private bedroom and a living room, since we don´t consider the living room as a room.
And last but not least, even though we read the reviews about the lack of cleaning, we truthfully believed that the issue may had been already solved.
The bathroom was everything but clean. We completely understand that there are two people living there, but it seemed like it hadn´t been cleaned in ages. In the morning we didn´t even take a shower and we had payed 10 euro as cleaning fee.
We were thinking about going to another place, but it was for just one night and we didn´t mean to be rude, so finally stayed there, at the living room with no privacy at all. We slept on the floor, on two mattresses.
Although the accomodation is quite cheap, the facilities are not as described in terms of cleanning, so we believe it is not worth it.
Indeed your reservation was for the private room and not the main guest room. I was in the private room myself, but could easily have moved to the main guest room and given you the private room like you wished. You should only have reminded me of that and I could have easily done that. Since I had mistakenly thought you had made the reservation for the main guest room (which is also private since there is nobody else sleeping in that room plus there is an extra wall for even more privacy) and you said nothing about it, I didn't even know there was a problem. The mistake was mine, but you should have just reminded me of that and we could easily have corrected it.
The bathroom hadn't yet been cleaned when you arrived since you arrived unexpectedly early in the day, but I cleaned it by the time you arrived later in the evening (sinks, mirrors, faucets, surfaces etc). As for the shower, my flatmate must have used it after I had cleaned it but before you managed to, so I probably should have cleaned it twice (once before your arrival and the second time after my flatmate used it). The one-time cleaning fee also included two sets of towels and bed sheets, which were provided as per your request.
Anton is friendly and helpful, the description of his place is accurate here on AirBnB. Sadly what is fails to mention is that his bed is really not good in quality. I could clearly feel the wooden structure through the mattress at various locations and was unable to sleep, I eventually resorted to using the cushions from a bench on top of the mattress to make it slightly bearable. Also his bedroom doesn't have any curtains, which might not be a problem for you, but it was for me. The slightest daylight wakes me up and I didn't take anything with me to cover my eyes. At around 6am it was thus totally impossible to even try to get back to sleep for me.
Finally, his room was tidy but not clean. There was quite a lot of dust and dustballs everywhere on the floor. Being prone to some allergies, this didn't really help me getting a good night's sleep.
Anton's place is cheap, the apartment is nicely organised and located perfectly for the city-center. If none of the gripes that I mention above bother you, it might be perfect for your situation. Sadly, it was too much for me so I cut my stay short and stayed elsewhere instead.
Geert is extremely polite and punctual. When he arrived, I offered him a choice between the bed and mattresses. Geert opted for the bed since he said he had some back problems. Unfortunately he was gone in the morning without saying why. From his review I can see that he didn't find the bed comfortable (which it is, but I guess it is a matter of taste) and thought the room didn't have any curtains (it does, right next to the window, but I guess he failed to notice them). As for the bed, it is the most comfortable bed I've ever slept in and many of my guests have found it very comfortable as well. Then again, I guess it is a matter of taste. Some people like a really hard surface for sleeping and others prefer a really soft mattress. People with back problems are usually more comfortable on harder surfaces, so Geert might have been better off on a mattress. Or if his preference was more softness, I have three mattresses, so we could have stacked all of them on top of each other for extra softness. However Geert never explained anything so I was unable to help him. Personally I find that the bed offers the perfect compromise between hardness and softness and so should be comfortable to anyone, unless of course you have a specific condition with specific needs (which seems to have been the case with Geert). The curtains were not drawn when Geert arrived because the room has a beautiful view to the whole city and I wanted him to enjoy that before going to sleep. However, the curtains were right there next to the window and when drawn, the room is almost 100% dark and perfectly comfortable to sleep in even if it is bright outside. Looks like Geert didn't see the curtains next to the window and since he didn't say anything, I was unable to help him with that either. As for allergies, I have them as well, so I try to keep the room as clean as possible. I also vacoomed the whole room just a few hours before Geert arrived. Looks like Geert still spotted something and I could easily have cleaned what I might have missed, but since he didn't say anything, I couldn't help him with that either. I'm sad that Geert only had a middling experience. Many of the things he mentioned in his review could easily have been fixed (combining the mattresses, showing him the curtains and going over some leftover dust), yet he came late at night, left early in the morning and never said anything, so sadly I was unable to help him with any of them.
Anton was friendly and approachable, happy to answer my questions and go out and show Tartu. The place was as described, and I didn't have any problems. The bathroom could have been a bit cleaner, but apart from that no complaints and offered good value for money.
