This beautiful sunny flat in in Kreuzberg Berlin, has 6 bed rooms, 1 kitchen, 3 separate toilets and 3 showers - immaculately clean, newly renovated altbau apartment (about 170 qm), located in an artist colony building complex, near the famous "Bergmannstraße" in the very exciting district of Bergmannkiez in Kreuzberg, Berlin. Bergmannkiez is a very popular area with many boutique shops, organic food stores, art stores, bars and highly recommendable restaraunts. Right across from the apartment is also a bike rental shop.
This all girls apartment has a total of 4 single private bedrooms and 2 dorm rooms (4 beds each).
- On this page you can book a single bed in the dorm room (max 4 people per dorm).
This is a perfect area for artists, situated in a building complex with many art studios, regular events and an international art gallery. The apartment is a short 2 minute walk to public transportation (U-station Gneisenau) and to the city center of Berlin.
There is a lovely kitchen with oven, stove, dishes, pots, pans etc, ironing board, and dining area with table, where flat mates can cook, enjoy and mingle. The flat has a washing machine, and there are individual drying racks for each room. The sun filled rooms are in a quiet building in an inner courtyard, so there is no street noise. There is also maid service provided. And of course the flat has free high-speed wireless internet!
I stayed there for 2 weeks in a 4 girls dorm, and overall I liked the experience. The bedroom and showers were very clean, the room was huge, it had a lot of light, the price was amazing and the location was superb for me.
There were some downpoints, though; for instance, the cold. They didn't turn on the heating until the last day of our stay, so the bathroom was like a fridge. They also didn't change our bedsheets at all, and the kitchen lacks everything, there's not even a microwave!
One of the major problems are plugs. There where just three in our 4-girl room, and if you wanted to use your hair dryer in the bathroom, you needed to unplug the washing machine!
So overall, the place is very nice but needs some improvements. The price is so good, though, that you may overlook them. Enjoy your stay!
Landed in Berlin at 09:15, and after a somehow confused ride with the heaviest suitcase in Europe, I arrived somewhat tired to Berlin Art Studio. It took 10 min for me to get keys, sign in and be shown to my bed and safety locker. Everything went very quickly and that is always appreciated, especially after being tired from travelling.
This was my first time using airbnb and I am completely satisfied with my stay. The dorm was really light with great windows and a superfresh bathroom! Having lived at youth hostels across Europe, I somewhat expected the bathroom to be in the standard they usually are at less pricey hostels, but I couldnt be more wrong! Showers, toilets, sinks and floors was all superfresh and always clean, shower curtains new and also a good wasching maschine available.
Good wifi was also a big plus, so was the close location to the U-bahn and the lively Bergmannstrasse.
Stayed for a week, during which time I got to meet the host and her coworkers - who all where so welcoming and keen to know how I liked it ), an aerial acrobat, a lot of Australians and a few girls from the States. All in all, I enjoyed my stay to the fullest and would recommend it for anyone searching for a calm, friendly and priceworthy stay in Berlin!
Check-in= ok, asked to wait til the end of a meeting, offered a free tour of the gallery but declined as I was tired, she was very accomodating to get me checked in.
Bathroom= beautiful. Hot, strong shower and a BATHTUB. Spare toilet was super handy, as was the washing machine- bring detergent though.
Bedroom= ok, noisy little room, no reading lights. Comfy bed, warm doona, towel supplied
Kitchen- small, attached to a different apartment room which kinda made me feel like I was invading other peoples living space.
Surrounds= great suburb, cool little apartment block with art on the walls, easy to the train which gets you everywhere.
