overall, our family's stay at cinzia's apartment was not very pleasant. the first day, we (a party of 7) were told not to use one of the showers for 24 hours. so 7 people had to share one shower in 40 degree heat!!! in addition, the airconditioning did not work because the filters were dirty and we had to wash them ourselves. the airconditioning worked after someone was asked to come fix it on day 2 after the gas was refilled. the electricity would switch off everytime someone used a hair dryer in the bathroom and we had to trip it down to the basement to switch it back on (not fun!!!). to top it all off, cinzia sent me a message 6 days after check out to request reimbursement for broken glass jar/table lamp/window tent??? she wrote in italian which did no make to much sense in (website hidden). no one knew what she was talking about. despite being asked to come inspect the apartment upon departure no one bothered to show up and then made false claims about damages that we were allegedly responsible for (and that too a week after check out????) i find the whole thing to be ridiculous and would not recommend the place one bit.
Staying here was a delight. They are such nice people. The Vatican is within walking distance and the metro is 5 minutes away. That will take you just about anywhere in Rome. The room was spacious and clean and I loved the patio. Would stay again. Also, thank you for finding an alternative place to stay for an extra night!

“Great choice off historic centre. Cute, clean and cozy. Steps away from the metro.”

A Casa di Alex is a 3-bedroom B&B just off the historic centre. If you are looking for something quieter and cozier than most central places in Rome, this is a safe bet.
The building is 150m from metro station Baldo degli Ubaldi, line A, which will take you directly to Rome's central station (termini), the Vatican, Spanish Steps, etc. Most metro stations in Rome have some nice flights of steps to go out of it, which is annoying if you are carrying heavy luggage - but there's a lift at t Baldo degli Ubaldi, which is a plus. A metrobus ticket costs 1 euro for a 70-minutes ride or 16 euros for a weekly pass. Metro runs from (phone number hidden) on weekdays and up to 1:30 on fridays and saturdays. You can get to Piazza di Spagna in 8 minutes by metro.
Off the metro you'll be at a large, traffic-heavy avenue that has most everything you'll need: market, drugstore, pizza places, atm. Make a turn and you'll be at a quiet, strictly residential area that is very invinting if you need to get a good night of sleep to get ready for the day.
A Casa di Alex is at the penthouse of a residential building, on the 8th floor. Take the lift (yes!) up to the 7th and go up one more floor. There, Cinzia will greet you and show you around.
The place is very cute and colorful. The apartment has gone under a make-over and it shows. Bedrooms, bedsheets and towels are new and clean. My bed was great. Bathroom is shared, but it kept clean and orderly. Wi-fi is free. Whereas breakfast in Italy consists of mostly a croissant and a capuccino, here you'll get a wider variety, in self-serve manner. You'll usually find rolls, toast, butter, jam, milk, fruits, cofffe, tea, chocolate, cheese and prosciutto. Kitchen is there, but not intended for cooking.
Cinzia is a warm and kind host. She will provide guests with maps and info. She doesn't live in the B&B, but she'll drop in everyday and overnight 3 to 4 days a week. If you lucky out (I did!), you may have all the apartment for yourself over weekdays. If you look for her around the web, you might get a slightly better price. ;)
I found the B&B to be a great option for those who look for something less impersonal than a hotel - also for those who may not want to experience 1900s beds and 1800s bedsheets in tourist-packed areas. I really liked the place and would recommend it to most friends.
Cinza it's been the ideal host!!!!!she's been welcome, kind, thoughtful and accurate.
The cinzia's B&B is very clean perfumed and orderly. The room is large, the beds are comfortable! Also the bathroom it's impeccable!!!
The breakfast was abundant differentiated.
We felt like at home, thanks a lot Cinzia!!!!!
We hope to back in your Bed and breakfast as soon as possible,Rome is one of best city in the world!!!!
